    Rukk gritted his teeth, and slowly pushed himself onto his hands and knees. “I… can… DO IT!” He said through gritted teeth. He reentered his truesight.

    The Once-Author figured he didn’t have much else to do. “I guess I’ll come with you.” He said.

    The Once-Author sighed. “Maybe. Maybe.” He finally looked at the orange ribbon. “Who are you anyway?”

    “I don’t know. I told you. It’s just… happened I guess. Lots of little things over time.”

    “I don’t know. I’m supposed to be a happy person, not depressed. I just feel like no one really cares about me. I’ve thought about it and everyone really would be better off without me. I’m useless and I keep messing up. I should just die, the world would be better if I did.”

    The Once-Author obeyed. He stopped. But he didn’t stop feeling. The feelings of worthlessness, how everyone would just be better if he didn’t exist. The idea that he should never have been here in the first place. The emptiness in him, that made him not want to do anything. The feeling… the feeling that he should just die, despite what Platypus said. He sat there. Barely breathing. Waiting for Platypus to show up and call upon him. He didn’t know or care how long it would be. So he waited.

    … I don’t even know what to do now. I guess… The Once-Author sat alone. He hated this place. He hated his life. He was tired. He was done fighting. He held up a finger and began narrating his own death.

    Rukk’s eyes went wide and he collapsed on the floor. He started shaking and he curled up in a ball, whimpering.

    Rukk was confused. He tried to let them both go but instead his truthsense ended up collapsing. “I’ve failed.” He said.

    Rukk maintained his Truesense, feeling the influence of the Dark side and the Light side. He breathed deeply, as the sides fought for power over him. He merely tried to maintain truesense. Time passed. It got more difficult. His breathing sped up. He began to sweat. He gritted his teeth and tried to push through, to keep his truesense going.
