  1. I've always looked at the spikes in the symbols themselves. There are several different spikes used in the series. I think there is meaning behind that but I'm not sure what. There are also two or three(I can't remember off hand) symbols we have but we don't know the meaning of. They are found in the original mistborn series, and I think there is one or possibly two in alloy that we don't know.
  2. got dad reading alloy of law, he is already posing theories. Amusing

  3. I'd like to suggest we have the symbols for at least four. Chapters 19 through 22 of final empire have unknown symbols. I haven't gone through the other books in the trilogy to check. None of the metals seem to have any direct relation to lerasium or atium and are rather simple in design. I have no idea what they could be but I am working on it. Edit: I just checked, Well has the same four unknown symbols for chapters 19 through 22 in the exact same order as final empire. Yes they are in the different style but they correspond the exact same way that the rest of the alphabet does.
  4. I see. Thanks for the explanation.
  5. I was thinking pure metal piping for pipes... But that made even less sense than my orignal answer.
  6. That makes so much sense!
  7. This is awesome! It is too bad we don't have more alloys like malatium yet. Then we could start guessing as to what these things could be.
  8. True. I forgot a few sentences there.(I tend to forget people can't read my mind.) What do you mean by spiritual DNA? I am very intrigued.
  9. Maybe she never burned an alloy? Though that sounds overly simplistic and could totally be proven wrong.
  10. Well we do have a slight clue but it was way bat in either Hero or Ascension. I believe it was hero where it is said that the Skaa and the nobles were physically different races from each other, but in the years since the lord ruler's ascension they had become more alike due to inbreeding. I'm guessing that there has to be a slight genetic difference on all the planets that have a genetically passed down magic system. Though that is debatable. Hmmm.
  11. So a lesson in making maple syrup, I swear this is relevant. I don't know how many of you have had the experience of tapping maple trees for sap but what comes out of the tree is not the stuff that comes out of the lady shaped bottle. The tree sap has to be put into a boiler and condensed down into some super yummy real maple syrup. Now to tie it all in. To me this sounds like what a feruchemist is doing. The take small bits of them selves and store it away and then condense it into larger amounts. I like condense for this purpose. Though I feel like the general word could and should be funneling because it can work both ways. Condense for using a large amount of power in a short amount of time. Draw for using a small amount of power over a long period of time. Though I could have just made this whole thing way more complex.
  12. I'm quoting myself from right when this whole thing got distracted. =P So back to on topic. I feel like we are on the right track but something seems a little off. I feel like hemalurgy would have more of an effect then just some technicality. Though the idea I had from earlier might be the correct route. Who knows.
  13. I think concentrate could be very easily confused, concentrating feruchemicaly could easily sound like you are concentrating on feruchemy. Which is silly but I could see how it could be confusing. Though in the context we are using concentrate it is very close to condense, at least in my thoughts. Of course my brain is a little funny so =P
  14. Try it without the contraction. You are compressing feruchemy. I like it. Or Feruchemical compression.
  15. That depends on if the storage flaw is in the metal or from the person. Do we know if metalminds have to be the exact alloy like allomantic metals do? Though the more I think about it the more Vin's earing becomes a bad example, I feel like sensing another's magical abilities is more like pushing or pulling on emotions, it is less measurable than something such as strength or senses. Though this is just my interpretation. Do we know what effects a steal spike would have on a pewter arm? If so it might be easier to figure out the correlation in feruchemy. Though maybe I was looking in the wrong direction, perhaps the spikes we should be using are Iron, Tin, Zinc, and Copper. Those steal actual physical atributes rather than allomantic or feruchemical powers. This way the feruchemist could physically have more to store.
  16. So we know that hemalurgy can enhance a persons allomantic abilities, such as vin and her bronze earing. We also know that hemalurgy can steal feruchemical powers, yet what we don't know is what if you used a pewter hemalurgic spike on a bloodmaker, how would it enhance his or her bloodmaking abilities? Would it make them able to store more healing ability without feeling the direct effects? And what in the would would it do to someone who could compound? What if said twinborn had two spikes, one for his or her allomantic ability and one for his or her feruchemical ability? Anybody else got any ideas?
  17. I guess thats a good thing?
  18. Today the bushes outside my place were smacking me in the face, my first thought was I should fix this, the second was I should definitely fix this cause the stalkers could totally hide here.
  19. is going to read The Hero of Ages at her all school meeting...

Way to go! :) I once used the ketek poetry form for an English assignment. Well worth the trouble.

Heh. Yeah I didn't really need to pay attention.

  20. Yeah, my AIM is so old and I havent used it that it has no info for my name for me to access it!
  21. *sigh* Really? Punny.
  22. I tried to mess with my AIM, didn't go so well.
  23. Aw thanks. I'd actually have to reconfigure my AIM(I haven't used it in three years), I've got a skype though...
  24. *rolls eyes* So the bushes are just a distraction...
