    She felt another ripple, the same thing, but this time she felt the emotion. She immediately launched herself back into her body, gasping. “You came back!”

    Of course! Strangely, I think I got my high score with grubberflies elegy instead of quick focus, but I’d still suggest quick focus.

    A ripple slammed into Helda. It was…from Tayen! She nearly ignored it, but at the last moment she desperately tried to see what it was. He was…crying over her body? Should she go back?

    She was slowly fading away into nothing, limbo becoming a blur. Her body was lifeless.

    Daniel felt…happy? He didn’t deserve to. He shouldn’t be.

    He watched her drift off again, continuing to push back his own drowsiness. Helda entered limbo. It was…better? She could leave, forget the pain, be replaced by a shade eventually. It was better that way.

    I bring forward Daniel and Freya, then ask if you’d like to team up and split the sandwich, along with possibly Hungry and the horsefly.

    There was no noise, no movement. Just silence. ”I will watch over you. You won’t be alone. And I’ll be here to wake you if you need to be woken. “

    I do not allow you to take the sandwich, as it is my hands. I yank it back.

    She continued walking, then suddenly went limp and fell to the floor. He smiled faintly. “I think you’ve gotten me then. You should probably rest some more, you’re still recovering.”

    Eventually, Helda stood and began aimlessly walking, trying to clear her mind. - - - “You… won’t be safe. Not with me. You should find someone else.” @Just-A-Stick

    Helda eventually stopped crying, she just shook on the ground. “I still don’t think… I’ll try.” He wanted her to stay like that, in his arms. But he had to make her leave, right? For her own good?

    “…thank you.” He pulled her tighter against him. Helda stopped screaming, and began sobbing again.

    She waited until he would have been well out of earshot, then let out a scream of agony. “You… you really think all that? About me?”

    She cried, tears falling quickly from her eyes. She didn’t stop him though. He would do the best thing. Right? “Why? Why would you love me?”

    “If you left, then you would hurt me. And you will always deserve to be loved. But if you really think it’s best, then it’s your choice.” A tear dripped down her face. “Do is only because I’m in pain, because I’m suffering? Nothing else? I thought as much.” There was no bitterness in his voice, just an understanding.
