“Umm…well…he wasn’t exactly…appreciating it. He was more…disliking it. Waving at people is nice, but usually only if they know you. Off they don’t know you, it can be ok, but if they don’t appreciate it, it usually just makes them madder.”

“Are you…trying to antagonize him?” Edgar asked hesitantly.

He stroked her hair.

“Absolutely.”

It snapped around her finger, then immediately recoiled. Edgar quickly tucked it away. “Sorry.” He glanced over at his brother. “Ignore him, it’s not worth it.”

“Ok…oh, I should probably open this,” he said, slinging his bag from off his back. @Edema Rue

“Yeah…that’s what I meant. I tend to make other people uncomfortable too. But, well, you haven’t made me uncomfortable, you seem very nice.” His Gift started morphing in his hand, becoming different shapes, then extending above his palm in a spiral pattern.

“No,” he said hurriedly.

Daniel smiled. “Is there…anything else?”

Edgar laughed softly. “Most people don’t think I’m nice, as evidenced by him,” her said in disgust. “And you seem nice enough yourself. It’s…hard being a daughter of Hades, isn’t it?” He scooted a little closer to her.

“Don’t be sorry, please. It just means I get to keep reminding you.”

“How what? The only thing that confuses me is that you can’t see it yourself.”

“I do. Every word of it is true.”

“Thank you, for being here, and for sitting with me, it means a lot.”

“Yes, right now. Because of who you are, who you want to be, your kindness and caring, and you loving me doesn’t hurt your case either. And that’s just the most basic way of explaining it.”
