  1. Well Reader, I think that if we never made any assumptions at all then theorizing would be extremely difficult to do. We wouldn't be able to say basically anything about the TSA since so little is explained, even in a book of such massive size. Guessing that truthspren are not classified as honorspren seems to be a pretty safe bet to me. They don't seem to care at all about Shallan's lies, theft, or the murder that she's committed. None of those things seem to be very honorable, so I doubt a honorspren would have remained bonded to her or even bonded in the first place.
  2. What the heck, I'm in! Might be a good motivation to finally give WoT a try. All you old WoT hands better be prepared for some seriously stupid questions on my part.
  3. Happy Birthday! My computer thinks it's still the 16th, so I'm technically not late :P

  4. Since this is the Knights Radiant table, I'm personally doubtful that anyone would have used images of Voidbringers as the background for the chart. If these crabwasps or whatever, were on the other chart, I'd be more willing to believe that.
  5. Awesome work! It's great to have all this information in the same place, and you are absolutely right about the wiki. We'll figure out where to put this when it comes back online. A couple little technical niggles. Since Kaladin is of the second nahn, and is apparently capable of marrying Laral, I believe that the second nahn must also be able to marry lower dahn lighteyes. There's a tad of a problem here. You say that the dahn/nahn levels are the same between parents and children. Yet when Kaladin sees Adolin, he recognizes the knots on his uniform as designating him of the second or third dahn. So this either means that the familial relation thing doesn't apply to dahn rank, or that Dalinar, and presumably the other highprinces are second or third dahn. I guess it's possible that only a king can be first dahn, but that would mean that there had been none in Alethkar for centuries, so I'm not sure what the right answer is here.
  6. What's that, an upvote? Hmm it seems that someone can laugh at himself, unlike another person I know...
  7. I'm actually curious as to what Roshar's real submarine life is like. They wouldn't be as impacted by the highstorms, so there could be a whole other world down there, in terms of life. I guess it depends on how much effect the storm has below the water too. Armored aquatic life would be cool to see.
  8. I love it. This has just ratcheted up the anticipation about another dozen notches. Interesting terminology in there about soulstamps and soulstone. Possible tie to the burning rocks? That's probably just coal though, or a similar substance. Anyway super-duper excited!!!
  9. Featured Theories 2 is coming, I promise!

  10. Well, when Teft is listing powers of the Radiants, he mentions some that could melt stone. So I think that it's most likely that they were melted by Radiants who had power over the Surge of Temperature or Heat (neither of those are confirmed). As Reader said, it's a very real possibility that the Dustbringers are Radiants who had that power. Also Droz, we have examples of at least two flying creatures, off the top of my head. The Skyeels of Kharbranth and the songlings that Shallan remembers near her estate in Jah Keved.
  11. Yeah that's the quote. We're not quite sure why that is, although a lot of people seem to believe it's an affect of the Splintered Shards there. That would of course mean that Roshar has a similar problem though, and Shallan and Jasnah seemed okay. So we'll just have to see. About dragon Radiants, my gut says that it's really unlikely, mostly based off of that quote above. I also think that some myths of dragons would have survived. My own totally random and unsupported idea is that they're images of Dawnsingers. This doesn't fit with what Kabsal says, but that ardents have been wrong before.
  12. Do you mean the Ishikk interlude? Also, although it's the best and most likely explanation, we can't say definitively that Shadesmar is how they got to Roshar. After all Galladon would have some trouble leaving Sel since Shadesmar is all screwed up there.
  13. Haha thank you Droz! No one has seemed to terribly interested thus far. It would seem that Cultivation is at least partially Splintered, although if this is intentional on her part or not is still unknown.
  14. Hello there Focusedbrute. Thanks for this awesome opportunity! Have you read all of the Cosmere book yet? I'd be better able to suggest questions that won't spoil you.
  15. I could be very wrong about this, but those images have never looked like dragons to me, more some kind of greatshell in my opinion. Brandon has this to say about Dragons in the Cosmere. I think the fact that he doesn't mention TWoK here is telling, but not necessarily definitive. I still do find it rather unlikely though.
  16. Feloxia, thank you! Thank you! this just made my day. I'm taking the whole Mistborn roller coaster all over again.
  17. Chaos has changed his stance on a lot of stuff. Except Pokemon of course
  18. I would like to announce that I was digging a trench today and suddenly felt just like Dalinar digging that latrine. Unfortunately summoning Oathbringer didn't work...
  19. I probably should have found a quote before I mentioned it, haha. I'm virtually certain I read and/or heard it in some interview. I asked a couple of admins and Rubix says it might sound familiar but Chaos isn't sure. I'll keep an eye out for the quote, but if I don't find it, my apologies.
  20. I would agree with firstRainbowRose as well, I think it's set in an unrelated universe. It doesn't feel serious enough to be Cosmere. Also Peter has it listed here as a Middle Grade fantasy, and all Cosmere books thus far have been adult fantasy.
  21. Here's a direct quote, to help answer your question.
  22. I see what you mean. The "them" is obviously spren. My bad!
  23. This is the best that we have on dissent about which spren are honorspren. Note that the spren are not the ones disagreeing. I hope this helps
  24. I can't say that I've seen any queer relationships thus far in the Cosmere. I can attest that Brandon has not left homosexuals out of his books though. Drehy, in Bridge 4 is gay and Ranette is heavily implied to be a lesbian. Brandon has also said he fully intends to have a gay viewpoint character in the future.
  25. Bring it! *summons Blade and falls into Windstance* I challenge you to a battle of... WITS (Hoid would approve )
