How about this: If I win, I get a chromium metalmind and a 2 vials of shavings, and if you win, I’ll stay here and work for you to… stack the odds in your favor and watch for cheaters.” Jaksyn grins slyly.

    Jaksyn kept two greatshells, showing a hand of three chulls, two skyeels, and a greatshell. He lapped the extra greatshells. A Butcher. “Do you know what this hand means?” Jaksyn paused, but only for drama, not to let him speak. “It means that what happens next is up to you. So you can stop drinking, look me in the eyes, cut the act, and make a deal, or I’ll find another way to win this rusting game.”

    After drawing, Jaksyn’s hand now consisted of 2 chulls, 2 skyeels, and 2 greatshells, with a hidden chull and greatshell. He switched to a Queen, with pocket skyeels. “In Vorinism, this is where they’d place bets. Up to raise the stakes?”

    Jaksyn picks up his cards. Two chulls, two skyeels, an axehound, and a greatshell. “Never seen it played with cards… I suppose the rules are the same.” His palmed cards are a chull and a greatshell. He moves the greatshell into his hand with surprising dexterity. No one ever thinks a one handed guy will cheat em. He tosses the axehound and draws.

    Jaksyn felt… strange. Empty. He realized he didn’t have his metalminds. This was going to be a bigger gamble than he was used to.

    Absolutely! Most of what I do is card tricks, but I’m trying to work on more organic stuff like appearing gum and soda can tab magic. What’s your favorite card trick?

    I love these! I’m currently working on a few things IRL to look like Cosmere powers, like coin bending, but ideally I could do things with Awakening, like making color drain out of objects and getting things to animate. To your notes, I think people would be less like magicians and more like jugglers, showing obvious display of skill. Like an Awakener having other people saying what command to use, or a Swift? (Compounding Steel) pushing something super far then catching it or something. If they did “magic”, it’d be more subtly I think, like soothing someone’s doubt, or storing a bit of their body heat to a metal mind while doing a mind reading routine.

    1. Never tried it straight on, but the times I did it on accident weren’t fun, so no. 2. I wish I could say a Golden Eagle, but that’s what I wish I would be. In reality I’d probably be a woodpecker, because I’m mildly destructive and always drumming on everything. 3. My current set is off-white, like my teeth. Don’t have a True Body after the wooden one broke.

    Oh my good gosh. I love this! Not sure how some of the Koloss variants would work but I love the thought process. We know Hemalurgy drastically alters the spirit web, so there might be heavy consequences for filling a metalmind as a Koloss, and tapping one a Koloss has filled. Great ideas tho!
