  1. Okay so. I asked the girl I like out to prom, and she said no. I am now wondering if there's anything I should do. The advice I have been given so far is that I should give her space, respect her decision (duh), and don't make it awkward by talking to her about it. I was also told that if I want to ask her out again, I should wait a few months. (Well, maybe more than a few...) Here's where bigger problem arises. She is in my writing group. Which means that at least once a month, I will be having to interact with her (and everyone else in the group, but that's beside the point) for like three hours. Our next meeting is Monday the 17th, and, while not certainly dreading this next encounter with her, I am not exactly excited either. We haven't talked in over a week and I'm another part of what I'm wondering is that maybe is was not a good idea to ask her to prom two days prior to the event. Yes, I did do that. *hides on other nerd forums*
  2. Welcome to the Shard! What's your favorite Sanderson book?
  3. That movie was my childhood. "The negotiations were short."
  4. If you're on a computer, what you're gonna do is click on your username where it has the little white arrow and go to Account Settings. In that tab, there is a section labeled Signature. You can fill that with information you want other Sharders to see/know. I have to go to work now, but I'd be happy to take a look at your manuscript when I have the chance.
  5. Thanks so much! I hope to publish one day, but my book is far from complete and I have a lot of other stuff going on in life. My writing group has told me that "this is publishable" but I kinda shrugged it off as them being nice. Now I see they were being sincere. It really means a lot for complete strangers on the internet to tell me they would buy my not finished, not published book. What do you enjoy about it?
  6. Thank you!! I do not. What makes you ask?
  7. Why someone would not eat a maggot, at least once, is beyond me.
  8. Since it's a little hard to read nine different PDFs, here's the whole thing (so far) as a Google Doc. It will be updated as I write more scenes and chapters, with a word count goal of 250k. Bloodlines - A novel. Anyone who accesses it through the link will automatically be set as a viewer for the document, as I don't want it to get clogged with comments. If you have any questions, suggestions, comments, or critiques, feel free to post them here!
  9. I don't have a pencil case... probably should though. TPBM uses Scrivener to write.
  10. Yep. I have books stacked on the floor, clothes strewn about, and two backpacks next to my bookshelf for some reason. TPBM is excessively organized in their room.
  11. Now I do! TPBM is listening to music right now. What song is it.
  12. I don't think I've ever had one... TPBM has an ever-expanding to-be-read list.
  13. Not really. But I was kinda late to class. TPBM isn't very humorous.
  14. Kind of? If test-running scenes from my book count. TPBM has a hamster.
  15. I do. When I have to spell it. TPBM can bench press their body weight.
  16. I do. TPBM has no idea why I'm typing in blue.
  17. I have heard that all it takes to join the Mercenaries is some cookies. Is my payment accepted?
  18. Granted. Your boon is that you can no longer see the color blue. I wish for days to have 36 hours instead of 24.
  19. I do. TPBM lives in the country. (said with thick Southern drawl.)
  20. Granted, but you now live in the 1880s, where there is no place to plug it in. I wish to have a car detailing business.
  21. Neither am I, but dude... the ending sequence when Jean Valjean dies got me. "Empty Chairs" also got me good.
  22. Yep. Blood Upon the Snow by Hozier. TPBM has been to France.
  23. I have added the next scene of chapter two.

    Bye.

  24. I am! Just started reading like four different books. TPBM listens to Rage Against The Machine.
