Best Cosmere Antagonist (Yumi Spoilers- Sorry About That)
Forts Board replied to Forts Board's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Do you find Sadeas more unlikable than Moash? I am totally down with this one, I thought he was a great villain. But I am also not surprised that Taravangian is top because (spoiler for SA#4) -
*Magical Swirl Sounds* You have been pulled into the Cosmere, and the only way to escape (assuming you want to, of course) is by completing a story arc without dying too many times. So which do you choose? The fun? The Dangerous? The Safe? (There isn't a whole lot of that last option.) Personally, I would choose Scadrial (Probably Era 2 ish) because #1. Modern Toilets. And I could also learn about the greater Cosmere while trying to stop the Set! It wouldn't matter much though, because I'd probably fail...

If Other Authors Wrote the Cosmere Novels
Forts Board replied to Fatebreaker's topic in General Brandon Discussion
If Tolkien wrote stormlight: It would be wayyyy longer, but most of that would be detailed accounts of each desolation and an alphabet and dictionary for each language on Roshar. Does it have to be just Fantasy Authors? If Prince Harry wrote Warbreaker, it would be a long book about Vivenna's fall into depression, with a big picture of her on the front. If I wrote Stormlight: It would suck. Good thing Brandons doing it- 163 replies

Theory: The admiral is a dawnshard bearer
Forts Board replied to Blackroot's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I'm reasonably sure dawnshards can forge a connection... -

For one: WHOOPS my bad. For two: I'm pretty sure none of those are from Sunlit... But I apologize for my indiscretion none the less -
Favorite non-radiant Stormlight Character? [Poll]
Forts Board replied to Aredor's topic in Stormlight Archive
I mean Adolin Rocks... (punintended), but ISHIKK is the best! My favorite interlude ever -
They are all great... but Stormlight is the most great

Theory: The admiral is a dawnshard bearer
Forts Board replied to Blackroot's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Dawnshard protects itself and eats investiture. Shades = investiture in the form of a threat. Seems logical but maybe i'm wrong haha. -
Theory: The admiral is a dawnshard bearer
Forts Board replied to Blackroot's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I have no clue about the finely tuned mechanics of that, but it would make since that the dawnshard would let the admiral protect herself by controlling the shades... Conversely, if she has a dawnshard, it would also make sense for all the shades to be dead -
As a short person, i want to point out that being born on Roshar does give you a cool height advantage. *sigh*

Yes, and who knows if someone will take up the broken shard of Honor....

Sunlit Man Full Book Reactions (Cosmere Edition)
Forts Board replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
There's some major questions I still have with this book. 1.) Cultures seem afraid of Rosharan Radiants, but they also seem like a rare legend or myth. Why? 2.) Who hired the Night Brigade, and who put that price on Sigzil's head? 3.) When did the Threnodites learn to control shades and develop inter-cosmere travel? Also my favorite disproven theory as I read the book was that auxiliary was actually Moash, hence the lack of emotion in his voice and the regrets. Actually I was not that sad to be proven wrong. Edit: Who has the dawnshard now? -
The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny
Forts Board replied to Lighteyed Lieutenant's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Hoid would soulcast the air around Chuck Norris to be fire, but everyone knows Chuck Norris is flame resistant. Surprising Hoid, he preforms a roundhouse that is barely block by Hoid's shardblade, but putting a dent in the metal. Hoid uses the moment to draw a healing Aon intentionally incorrectly, hoping to give Chuck Norris the Shaod. Chuck Norris refuses to stay trapped in time, breaking out, but losing his Gall Bladder in the process. Don't ask me how. Chuck counters with a straight left, knocking Hoid back 30 feet. Hoid regains his balance and burns atium, seeing all future possibilities, and in every single one, they cannot beat each other. Hoid uses a breath to awaken a cloth to momentary distract Chuck, and teleports away, looking to find Taln to recruit for future face-offs. -
Honor for sure! Even if its limited, spending my weekly allowance of stormlight would be awesome.

Major Cosmere Characters Ranked (My Way)
Forts Board replied to Forts Board's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Good Point. I was thinking more on terms of raw investiture, in which I would assume a shard would be the standard for ten, and also the characters - for lack of a better term - skill with their powers. So even though I assume that a radiant of the first ideal could draw just as much Stormlight as one of the fourth ideal, I would rank them as my standard for a 1 rather than any higher. -
Major Cosmere Characters Ranked (By My Scale, Disagreeing is Fine). I’ve wanted to do this for a while, because I haven’t seen a whole lot of real character ranking out there, and I also have too much free time. I think there are five major things to consider when ranking characters, and those things are: Intent: Are they wanting the good of others? /10 Power: How much raw ability do they have? /10 Effectiveness: How much can they do with that power, and how well do they achieve their goals? /10 Intelligence: How Smart are they? /10 Coolness Factor: Because we know that’s the most important. /10 This is for an overall score of fifty, which we can easily double to give each character a grade. You might not agree with me, but that’s cool, I’d love to hear people’s thoughts! Okay, here we go: starting with Kaladin Kaladin Stormblessed: Intent: All those desires and oaths to protect others- he’s got to be pretty high up there. 9/10 Power: With a Shard being the standard of 10 here, he comes in a little lower, but still- Radiant of the fourth ideal. 4/10 Effectiveness: Nobodies beaten him yet- but he’s plagued by his own depression. On a bad day he’s a zero, on a good day he’s a 10… 7/10 Intelligence: Very smart in a lot of ways, not a Jasnah though. 7/10 Coolness Factor: Come on, its Kaladin. 10/10 Adding this all up, we get 37 out of 50, or a grade of 74. This may seem low but I think this is like A+ range for what is manageable by a mortal. Kelsier: Intent: He wants to protect Scadrial… but that isn’t in a lot of people’s best interests. 6/10 Power: As a Cognitive Shadow he can’t do too much physically, but he does control the Ghostbloods and all their power. 4/10 Effectiveness: Surprisingly effective. Willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals, often gets what he wants. 8/10 Intelligence: An excellent leader and organizer. 8/10 Coolness Factor: Mistcloak, Eye Spike, Scars… all cool things. 8/10 Overall: 34 out of 50, or 68 percent. Dalinar: Intent: Nowadays he’s quite the upright guy. 9/10 Power: Bondsmith powers are crazy, plus he kind of leads the Coalition. 4/10 Effectiveness: Maybe not as effective as he could be (given his position as Bondsmith) , but when the Blackthorn is out, Man is he out. 8/10 Intelligence: He’s a lot smarter than Gavilar gave him credit for: 6.5/10 Coolness Factor: He’s one manly man, but he’s getting older. 7/10 Overall: 34.5 out of 50, barely edging out Kell with a 69 percent. Vasher: Intent: Hates people, but does really like helping them. 7/10 Power: Insane at what he does and has a ton of breaths. A whopping 5/10 Effectiveness: He kind of messed up Nalthis for a while but he did a pretty good job getting it back together. 7/10 Intelligence: He’s kind of a genius. Got some really complex Commands and figured out a lot about using Awakened things. 9/10 Coolness Factor: Kind of the grumpy grandpa character, but when he draws Nightblood then man you know what’s up. 7/10 Overall: 35 out of 50, or 70 percent. Nightblood: Intent: The command is clear… the intent isn’t. 4/10 Power: Rayse isn’t alive anymore… 8.5/10 Effectiveness: “Did we kill some evil?” 7/10 Intelligence: I mean he is a sword. 4/10 Coolness Factor: He’s a black smoke dripping sword. 10/10 Overall: 33.5 out of 50 for a 67 percent. Vin: Intent: She’s pretty nice. See Hero of Ages for details. 8/10 Power: Full Mistborn- and really good at it. 4/10 Effectiveness: She did mess up at the Well of Ascension, but didn’t lose much other than that. 8/10 Intelligence: Smart enough to figure out who Rashek really was. 6.5/10 Coolness Factor: Three words: Flying girl assassin. 8/10 Overall: 34.5 out of 50 for a 69 percent. Any thoughts? This is just a start, who should I do next?

I don't think he's gonna kill any major characters in the fifth book. Just because he has done something before doesn't mean he is going to do it again, but i think if someone dies it will be Jasnah. because.

The connection of multiverses could be an interesting point... however, one of the things about the book that I was most interested in is that Cecil G. Bagsworth III is originally a character from Alcatraz and John West seems to have a few awfully similar things to Folsom Smedry.... Haha overall it was a great book, one of those one day reads for me. I'd give it a solid 4.5/5.

Investiture fueled Mistborn Vs. Radiant
Forts Board replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Of course, this really all depends on who is fighting. The Rhythm of War seems to show Kaladin as basically undefeatable by anything other than his own mind. But the Windrunner's advantages of full flight (falling) capabilities and not wearing any metal to be pulled on would, in my opinion, give them an edge over the Mistborn.
