maybe, but I don't think so, fused are the souls of singers that then inhabit new singer bodies, they don't create their own bodies when they "respawn" the thunderclasts are formed by themselves when a thunderclast "unfused" soul inhabits the rock, and that rock becomes alive, if there were chasmfiend fused, they would inhabit normal chasmfiends. One thing I do wonder about, is the fact that some person in history did sketch the chasmfiend as a voidbringer, (discovered all the way back when Shallan and Jasnah were in Kharbranth) so perhaps there is some fused version of the chasmfiend that is allied with the listeners.

I'm reading The Stormlight Archive for the first time
Beodrakis replied to Amira's topic in Stormlight Archive
nah, knowing Shallan's absolute fear of embarrassment, it becomes very clear why she did that, hoping that some insignificant guard she wouldn't meet again wouldn't think about it much, as a pose to seeming weak in front of Tyn, who she is trying to learn from. Although Shallan's actions are kinda stupid I get why she does them. BTW: People around here love Kaladin way too much, like come on, whoever hurts Kaladin is instantly hated by everyone, and painted in a bad light. Kaladin is a depressed pessimist, and those people who hurt him made him who he is. cut them some slack. -
alright, thanks for the clarification

how does the day/night cycle work? Is it always day in glii, or do they experience a day/night cycle, but the actual tilt is just larger than on earth, and Glii just has longer days and shorter nights, while Vernii has shorter days and longer nights?

Am I the only one that would love the in world books?
Beodrakis replied to SirFlapFla's topic in Stormlight Archive
honestly, I don't think that it would be that entertaining, it would probably take the form of something like a fairytale collection, just a bit darker. Also what would those books be called? having the same name for 2 books is bound to be confusing. btw, please don't double post. -
yesterday evening, I gave some reputation, but today it says I reached my limit, without me having done anything.

S5 hasn't been published yet, so you shouldn't write about it outside of spoiler zones. Multiposting is when you post multiple times in quick succession on the same topic, if you have many things to say, write a longer post, if you already sent the post, use the edit feature, this stops topics from getting clogged with too many posts or something. You're not in trouble, just keep this in mind for future posting.

Although unifying Alethkar might make him seem like a conqueror, he did it so that they would stand strong against the voidbringers, he knew that if Alethkar was splintered, they would fall, and I feel like he might have even planned for his own death, knowing that it would spark a war, and driving the Parshendi to become voidbringers. All of this was to reinstate the knights radiant, which is a noble goal. So I feel like "no redeeming factors" is a little too harsh.

Interactive Map and Timeline of Roshar - Feedback
Beodrakis replied to Paleo's topic in 17th Shard Discussion
could it be possible to show the map how it was at that time, for example, before the reunification of Alethkar, show individual princedoms, not one big unified Alethkar, idk if that's possible. -
dang, that is a lot of dedication!

I'm reading The Stormlight Archive for the first time
Beodrakis replied to Amira's topic in Stormlight Archive
I actually believe that slave trade to the shattered plains would be very profitable, think about it. There are people on the shattered plains, sure, but you can't just turn random dark eyes into slaves, and that need for slaves would force most people into line, most resources there are soulcast, because of that there is no need for developed supply routes, which means that no-one is going to pour effort into them. The Shattered plains still require a good influx of slaves, the bridge crews use them up pretty quickly, and slaves aren't items you can just soulcast out of rock, they have to be shipped over from Alethkar proper, and like Shallan notes, it is rife with bandits. This contributes to the fact that slaves are an extremely valuable commodity on the Shattered Plains, but the path to get there is dangerous, which is why not many slavers go that route. Tvlakv did it because he had to get money fast, and had very little to lose, not because he enjoyed watching people suffer. You also said that He is trying to sell Shallan, I don't think that this is the case, he was planning to sell her back to her family, sure, but he insists that it is to dig them out of debt, not for personal profit, and you should also keep in mind that Tvlakv and his goons decided not to rob her when they found her on the beach, they saved her life, Shallan was too unpracticed when it came to soulcasting, and couldn't have made food for herself, if Tvlakv hadn't shown up, she probably would have died of thirst, exposure, or starvation, as for when he lingered when giving the key, he gave it with only a short pause, indicating that he probably felt sorta guilty about his profession, because so far, Shallan hasn't revealed herself as dangerous yet. Tvlakv is by no means a good person, the amounts of lives he ruined, and killing slaves is definitely not a good sign, he needs a serious redemption arc to ever get into the tranquiline halls, if that is even possible at this point. I just wanted to say that Tvlakv is not trying to be evil, everyone probably judges him for what he did to Kaladin, and what he might have wanted to do to Shallan, but I believe that he should only be charged for the moral crimes he actually committed, because he didn't do anything against Kaladin, he was already a slave at that point and Tvlakv could do nothing for him at that point without seriously damaging himself. As for Shallan, he might have wanted to do something, but he didn't, and that makes all the difference, he exercises some self control over those selfish urges, but sometimes he doesn't have a choice that helps someone else without seriously hurting himself in the process. btw, thanks for that double posting comment, I didn't know. -
When I heard fallen title and the spear, my thoughts immediately go to Kaladin, Stormblessed was the fallen title, and he used the spear, I just don't know about the crown. Also, death rattle s have the possibility of being about the past.

Throughout the Stormlight Archive, Gavilar does a bunch of different things, he unifies Alethkar, but also brings back the voidbringers and the desolations. Although he does this to restart the knights radiant, you have to wonder whether all of that bloodshed was necessary. There is also the fact that he looks up to the Sunmaker, who is genocidal tyrant, and yet is still looked up to. I'm just curious what your opinions are.

in the prologue to Way of Kings, they talk about how one of their number died, they must have taken their blade with them, leaving only nine on Roshar.

One important thing about the face in the sky is that he is referred to as the Stormfather, Kaladin has dialogue with him when he is left out in the storm. Multiple times in TWOK Wit acts very prophetical, but on other times he just jokes around, it's seems like it's something he can turn on and off, or maybe he is possessed. Shallan keeps referring to "burnt out eyes" a tell-tale sign of a shardblade, but I'm not sure who it belongs to, maybe it's in the family, maybe it's an assassin, but she says she killed her father, even though she never refers to him as having burnt out eyes so idk. other than that, unless there are specific things you are confused about I don't have much more.

Does anyone still want a Moash redemption arc?
Beodrakis replied to Elsecaller_17.5's topic in Stormlight Archive
I see where you are coming from, but I don't think that it is possible to give every character a redemption arc. So far, the main characters, have gotten redemption arcs, but if every bad guy turns good, then there isn't much fun to it, if you know that someone will eventually turn back to the good side, then what is the point of making them bad in the first place. there is also the fact that Moash is now a serial killer, and I don't think that Kaladin would be quick to forgive the person that killed Elhokar, and then Teft. Moash has been completely absorbed by Odium's passion, and although it's good to be hopeful, I sadly don't think that there is any possibility of Moash coming back. -

when turned on, the button just shows a check mark, when turned off, it shows an x, but also the word off, and they are on top of each other, which I found confusing.
