“Don’t worry,” Rayvyn says, trying to sound kind. “I already checked the room. There’s nothing here that will attack us, and the lock on the door works.” She hesitates. “Well…I think many of the people here have magic, but we’re as safe as we can be.”

Rayvyn opened the door, surprised to see the boy. "Oh, hello. Come in." She opens the door wider, making room for him to walk in. "Did something happen? I, uh, I think there's paper in here somewhere." @Ookla the Inverted

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Rue nodded as well, walking towards Insa. She didn't release Saidar, though, not yet. @InfiniteInsanity

1/3/23 A Treasured Curse

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Rue gives him a cold look. "I don't see why you seem to think I'm such a monster. I swear not to use Compulsion on any member of this party, unless they ask." @UnfortunatelyNamed

Rayvyn smiled; he reminded her of herself when she was younger. Once she makes it to her own room, she sits down. What have I gotten myself into now?

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Rue rolls her eyes. "How about a 'thank you, Rue, for saving all of our lives and getting us out of the mess I got us into?'" @UnfortunatelyNamed

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Rue hesitates. They could make useful weapons in case anything else attacks us...she decides not to voice the thought; it'll only cause another argument, and Insa seems to be getting tired of those. "Yes." She does so, and the wolves run off. "If they come back, or something else does, I can reactivate the Compulsion without too much difficulty." @UnfortunatelyNamed

As the boy was still occupied, Rayvyn headed down the hallway to her own room.

Rayvyn accepts the key and walks back down the hallway, stopping in the boy's room first to make sure he's okay.

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Rue sets the weave on the wolves and orders them to back off. @UnfortunatelyNamed

Rayvyn nodded to herself, glad that he was done crying for the moment. "I'm going to get myself a room, but I'll come back before I go to bed. Rayvyn leaves the doorway, walking up to Fadran, completely ignoring the newcomer. "Can I have a key? I'll be staying here for the foreseeable future."

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway "Tell me about it," Rue mutters. "You hold them off, if you can. I'm going to try Compulsion." She starts weaving rapidly. @UnfortunatelyNamed

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway That's not good. "Why does your fire work?" Rue shouts at Nameless. "They just walked through mine!" She weaves a gateway directly underneath herself and comes out next to Nameless. @UnfortunatelyNamed

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Rue shrugged. "I know balefire too. We learned lots of things during the Last Battle that wouldn't have been allowed normally. Are you sure you don't want me to kill them?" She starts to weave fire, raising a wall between her and the wolves. Light, this won't work for long. @UnfortunatelyNamed

Rayvyn (standing in the doorway so that she can see him but not miss everything else) raised an eyebrow. "That's not exactly what...nevermind. Is that where you were before you came here?" She asks, hoping for at least a nod.

"I think we all have a variety of reasons. Better question, do we have a shared purpose for being here?"

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Rue cursed. "They're dogs, aren't they. Of course there are dogs here." A thought occurs to her. "Would Compulsion work on them?" @UnfortunatelyNamed

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Rue sighed, changing the weaves of fire to weaves of air. She started hitting at muzzles, poking the undersides of paws. "What, it's my fault they don't like me? How did you set such useless wards anyway?!" @UnfortunatelyNamed @InfinteInsanity

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway “You absolute idiot,” Rue breathes, seizing saidar. “You didn’t try to mask your scent or anything?! I’m sorry Insa, but this is his fault! Storming men.” She readies weaves of fire, preparing to attack. Their fur should burn easily enough. @InfiniteInsanity @UnfortunatelyNamed

Rayvyn eyes the newcomer. “So he’s the reason we’re all here. Good thing he showed up before anyone killed anyone else.” Good thing for some of them. Killing was, after all, her job.

Ravelast: Sixth Archive Gateway Rue glares at Nameless, exasperated. “I thought you said you didn’t bring it back!” @UnfortunatelyNamed @InfiniteInsanity

Rayvyn slips quietly away from the boy who won't talk. Honestly. How am I supposed to spy on people who won't talk, or talk to thin air? In search of someone who will, she sees a girl with a strange monkey-thing on her shoulder. "Hello," she says quietly. @Shadowed

"Some of you get surprisingly sentimental about your little pets. Perhaps the novelty of having something treat you with attention gets in the way of what little common sense you have." She smiles coyly. @UnfortunatelyNamed
