Rue pursed her lips and nodded. “I suppose so.”

Rue took a breath, then let it out. “It’s not…it’s not just that I’m physically tired. I’m…it’s more than that.”

Rue nodded. “If you’re sure. I’m…” she snorted. Tal stayed behind.

Rue smiled. "Here you are."

You weren't... "You weren't underestimating me. I...I didn't do much."

Rue smiled sharply. "I told you I wouldn't let him take you."

Rue hesitated, then followed, letting the gateway close behind her. She didn't say anything.

A gateway popped open in front of him, opening to a wide, grassy field in the middle of a tall mountain range.

"Where do you want to go?"

"I'm...not sure." "Let's go, then."

"That...is an excellent question."

“He wants their souls to be destroyed.” Rue gave the wall a look.

“No,” Rue said, then hesitated. “But I think we may need to kill those gods of yours.” Tal leaned forward. “Everyone is welcome here,” he said. “But do remember…we take the security of our residents very seriously. If you compromise it…” he smiled, then gestured past him. “Take all the looks you want.”

“Let him be! He just died.”

"Like I said," Rue smiled faintly, "your death would be...highly inconvenient." Tal looked around, then shrugged. "There's...uh...this isn't your regular clinic. Things happen. Weird things. A lot. By our standards, though, things are pretty good!"
