    Eddie smiled, eyes bright and hopeful. “I learned so much,” she said. “I fell in love, and I grew, and…I can’t even begin to describe it all.” She let a small flame flicker through hee fingers. Eddie blinked. “Who’s he?”

    Eddie looked at her, then burst out laughing. “I’ve missed you, Lils…it’s been a long year.”

    Tal pointed at Lundyn’s wing. “Can you heal that? If not, I can bandage it up, but magic is quicker.”

    Eddie stood up, then ran to Lil and gave her a tight hug. “It’s been too long!”

    Eventually, they made it up to the med wing, where Tal set her on a bed. “You wouldn’t happen to have any healing powers, would you?” He asked Melody hopefully.

    Eddie sits up, smiling, eyes full of love. “Princess!”

    Tal blinked. “Remind me never to suggest she take a nap again…” he picked her up and carried her upstairs.

    Eddie’s eyelids started to flutter.

    “Nothing!” Tal said, raising his hands defensively. “I…suggested she take a nap?”

    “I’m not sure.” Rue pursed her lips. “Not quite. Death wasn’t the problem.” “Uh…ah…you are a kid…let’s just get your wing healed, yeah?”

    Eddie didn’t seem to notice (she was sleeping).

    “All kids need naps,” Tal muttered. “C’mon. We’ll get that wing fixed up first, though.” He gave Melody a sharp look.

    Tal started walking upstairs, towards an empty room. “I think you need a nap, yeah?” Rue nodded sharply. “The bond’s still in tact, then…yes, I’m thinking about him, because he’s trapped in the underworld and it’s my fault.”
