  1. Zira wandered into the kitchen to get some popcorn. She didn’t technically need to eat, but…she liked human food. It was tasty, and she could only have so much of her own…sustenance.
  2. “Poor dear,” Eddie crooned.
  3. “Revenge on the ones who desensitized you…” Eddie shrugged. “I’m here to guide you through whatever you decide to become, my dear. I’m here to always be by your side.”
  4. “Would you like revenge? Or have you given in?” Eddie looked…caring. Like a mother, or even a grandmother. It was bizarre, but she seemed completely full of love.
  5. “Isn’t it?”
  6. Eddie raised an eyebrow. “If all things are wrong, and wrong is the absence of good, then there is no goodness.”

  8. My character wants to support people who need it, she could easily accidentally become a sidekick to your (or any other) character if you’d like. She wants to find out more about herself, but is also afraid of it, so if she could do anything she’d probably insert herself into a group of some sort?
  9. Something metal slips out of Len’s pocket.
  10. “No…” Len gasped. “No.” A meaningless end to a life that, despite how hard he’d tried, had ultimately been just as meaningless. She got there just in time for Len to give her one last look of apology. “I’m so sorry,” he choked out. “I’m so…I shouldn’t have…protect them. Please…keep our flight safe.” And then he went limp.
  11. But the more she ate, the hungrier she seemed to get, and she started crying again. “I want food!”
  12. Len spit in her face then instantly regretted it as he realized what he’d done. I just sacrificed the lives of my entire flight for a moment of petty rebelliousness. He looked to the rest of his flight. “I’m sorry,” he whispered. “I’m so sorry.” Then he turned back to the president. “If I’d known he was doing that, I would’ve liked him a whole lot more. But my flight wouldn’t have. They didn’t know anything about this.”
  13. Xi stopped crying and gobbled it up. “I’m still hungry,” she pouted. “It didn’t help at all!”
  14. He stands back up, shrugging off the pain. He’s fought through worse for his chosen family. Maybe they don’t know it, maybe they don’t care, but he’s their brother. And a brother is there to protect, even when it’s hopeless. He threw a punch at one of the soldiers. “We aren’t even phantom flight! We had nothing to do with that idiot boy.”
  15. Xi keeps crying.
  16. “Don’t touch them,” Len growled, stepping in front of his team. It was obvious he was favoring one leg.
  17. “Wrong? What is wrong to you, my dear?” “Nope.”
  18. Xi tries really really hard to eat her stew, but just floats through it. She tries again, and again it doesn’t work. This makes her start crying even louder than the organ. And somewhat less pleasantly.
  19. Len is sitting in the mess hall.
  20. To the theatre, regarding treasure:

I suppose this is to you; who else would I be writing for?

    But it isn’t about you.

    It’s about something I’ve found.

Something I’ve been looking for for so long that when I finally found it I nearly missed it.

    It’s about treasure.

It’s about the years and tears

That I’ve spent looking for this treasure within your walls.

It’s about the treasure that you had, but kept just out of my reach.

And it’s about the treasure I found today.

    The family.

    The people.

    Isn’t it wondrous?

    Isn’t it beautiful?

Look at it! I found it. I actually found it. I’ve been looking for so long I’d started to think that the treasure I sought didn’t exist.

    But it does.

    It does.

It exists and I found it and…

And it’s being kept just out of reach again. I can see it, now, and for a single magical moment my fingers brushed against the gold coins, the shining jewels, the riches I’d long imagined.

And they were better than I could have hoped for. Brighter. Lovlier.

    Magical.

They were everything I’ve always looked for behind your curtains.

    And yet,

    My fingers slipped off,

    And I realized;

These are riches I will never possess.

This is a treasure I can never keep.

    And it hurt,

    Because I knew,

    That when it ended,

    I would be alone again.

Alone with your curtains and your shadows and your monsters and your beauty and my failures and all of it.

And that’s a place I never wanted to be again.

    But I’ll be there.

    So I guess,

    I was wondering.

Now that I know that this treasure

    Really exists,

    And that I

    Can feel it,

    Touch it

    Find it

    Love it

    Build it,

    Could you,

    Maybe,

    Show me yours?

    Show me where it is?

And let me feel it, even for a few moments?

    Because this treasure

    Is keeping me alive.

It is water from a fountain of youth,

    And without it

    I will surely perish.

    So…

    Can I have some?

    Please?

    Stars.

    It’s real.

    Spoiler

Welp. I did it again, whoops.

Dragonsteel was…indescribable. Maybe I sound like a farm girl in a big city, but that’s exactly what I was. It felt like stepping into the circus of dreams. Those of you I met, @Cash67 @Lightweaver2 @Silver Phantom @Ancient Elantrian @Being of Cacophony @CalanoCorvus and one more I’m not sure if I’m allowed to mention, y’all are incredible. Thank you.

    Heeheehee books.

  21. “Did you now?” Rue seemed unconcerned.
  22. “I WANT STEW!” Xi shouted, then paused. “What’s stew?”
  23. “I’m hungry…”
