    Zira blinked. "How strange this all is," she murmured.

    Now close it around your prize.

    Salty, almost too salty, but not quite.

    Greasy enough that you can feel it running down your chin, but the good kind of grease. The kind that adds flavor.

    Some parts are perfectly crunchy, not so much that it’s uncomfortable, but just enough that you have something to chew.

    Other parts dissolve as soon as they touch your tongue, crumbling into nothing but glorious flavor.

    The result is perfection. A mix of everything food should be. All the differences twisted into a perfect little package.

    I love bacon.

    Eddie laughed. “I love you,” she whispered so that only he could hear.

    Eddie landed on top of him, unfurling her whip and curling it around his neck. “I win.”

    Eddie snickered and dodged. “You always do that,” she said fondly. She let her whip dissolved and formed a new one, twisting it forward and around his ankle.

    “Love you too, Mom,” Eddie called sarcastically.

    Eddie spun, her fiery dress growing. She lashed out with the whip, striking at Charlie’s sword.

    Eddie grinned. “We duel.” Eddie shook her hand, and a blast of fire solidified into a long rope, which she twirled, laughing.

    Zira was walking down a hallway when she saw Tizzy. Brat. She should have ignored her, should have kept walking and let the stupid girl die. But after what she'd just seen...after a flurry of memories that were surfacing under the usual haze...memories of a boy, memories of the sun she hadn't seen in so long...she stepped into Tizzy's path and bared her fangs. @Ookla the Pastry

    Eddie started walking. "Okay. So...the dorms are that way, magical classes are straight ahead, and nonmagical classes are to the left. That's the infirmary, and there's the cafeteria. Anything specific you want to see?"
