Shel Silverstein poems because I have a snow day tomorrow and you can’t stop me
SpoilerI will not play at tug o war
Id rather play at hug o war
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone winsSpoilerMy skin is sort of brownish
Pinkish yellowish white
My eyes are grayish blueish green,
But I’m told they look orange in the night
My hair is reddish blondish brown
But it’s silver when it’s wet
And all the colors I am inside
Have not been invented yetSpoilerHector the Collector
Collected bits of string
Collected dolls with broken heads
And rusty bells that would not ring
Pieces out of picture puzzles
Bent up nails and ice cream sticks
Twists of wires, worn out tires,
Paper bags and broken bricks
Old chipped vases, half shoelaces
Gatlin guns that wouldn’t shoot
Leaky boats that wouldn’t float
And stopped up horns that wouldn’t toot
Butter knifes that had no handles
Copper keys that fit no locks
Rings that were too small for fingers
Dried up leaves and patched up socks
Worn out belts that had no buckles,
Lectric trains that had no tracks
Airplane models, broken bottles,
Three legged chairs and cups with cracks
Hector the Collector
Loved these things with all his soul
Loved them more than shining diamonds
Loved them more than glistenin gold
Hector called to all the people
“Come and share my treasure trunk!”
And all the silly sightless people
Came and looked… and called it junk
SpoilerWould you like to hear
Of the terrible night
When I bravely fought the-
No? All right
SpoilerOnce I spoke the language of the flowers
Once I understood each word the caterpillar said
Once I smiled in secret at the gossip of the starlings
And shared a conversation with the housefly in my bed
Once I heard and answered all the questions of the crickets
And joined the crying of each falling dying flake of snow
Once I spoke the language of the flowers
How did it go?
How did it go?
SpoilerNo one’s hanging stockings up
No ones baking pie
No one’s lookin up to see
A new star in the sky
No one’s talking brotherhood
No ones giving gifts
And no one loves a Christmas tree

Today I learned that book 14 Rand vs Taln is a close fight, and I'm more excited than ever to see Taln in action. WaT doesn't count. things are going to go down when Taln fights. Add in the other Heralds who are all excellent fighters, and it's hard to imagine anyone beating them.
I also learned that Taln would be a good Ring-bearer, even though he's super powerful.
This has been an episode of Platypus Learns from WOBs. Tune in next time for more random information I find interesting.

Rereading Name of the wind
It's so intresting Haliax struggles to say the words forget and sleep. Almost like he's unable to die, to forget or to sleep.
SpoilerLanre was driven to madness by grief
Myr Tarenial burned by his hand. A mercy to the people of that wretched land.

Where do you keep all your writings? / How do you organize them?
I was keeping them in a document, but 130+ pages is just a lot, even with Tables of Contents for each day. It's just a little laggy. I'm considering one document, but different tabs (Google Docs does this), or just text files on my computer with folders and subfolders for year, month, day, and then .txt's for each story.
(Also I do double-spacing and have a heading title page for each day, and have wrote something almost every day for the past 2.5 months, so it's really like 65 pages double-spaced. Also, there are lots of poems, which are way less words (but more lines) than stories. So it's less impressive than it sounds, but I'm still proud.)
e.g.,
2026
|_ 02
|_ 15
|_ Story1.txt
|_ Story2.txt
|_ ...
|_ 16
|_ Story1.txt
|_ NameHere.txt
|_ ...
|_ ...
|_ ...
...
The above structure would likely apply too for the document. This issue with a doc is that it gets laggy, and also on PC it feels nice...but I have to use Notepad lol. Also, do I even separate by story, or just keep all stories in the same tab/file for each day?

Oh I’m the most unorganized person you’ll ever meet. In order to find a specific piece of writing I have to dig through four 80,000 word documents, three notebooks, and random text messages.
But within my enormous docs (I make a new one whenever it gets too laggy, which happens about 80,000 words for me) each piece has a header in bold and is separated by a page break.
