I like arguments.

Not all arguments, and not with all people.

But sometimes, with the right person, an argument is a sign. It’s a sign that a relationship has grown deep enough to touch on something so long hidden that a breath of air turns it into a grenade. From there, the relationship can become shrapnel, not only destroyed but a weapon to all others close enough to feel the effects as something they do not understand is destroyed.

But not always.

Some nights there will be yelling.

Some nights there will be crying.

And some nights, there will be deafening silence.

But once a second set of roots are wrapped around this buried weapon, this secret treasure, a thousand new things can be discovered.

When a relationship becomes something dangerous, it becomes worth fighting for. When the love is so strong that one can’t help but fight, that is a person one needs to keep around. When one can say what one believes, knowing the other believes differently, polarization ends and understanding begins.

And that, I think, is one of the greatest feelings in the world.
