  1. I just finished a show choir competition... on a Monday. I... never again.

I braided a lot of hair. I helped people with corsets. And forgot money for food. Cause you know. Obviously I can't just remember things. Where's the fun in that?

I watched the prep group and the treble group perform all while the dread of my own performance built.

And then I got help from an amazing person. Which helped me later in my performance because I had a clearer view of my emotions and a how to portray them on stage.

Then warm-ups and a performance with low breath cause costumes. A rough costume change. And then messing up so many times.

Then critiques. My arms were scratched and cut from my costume and the sweat made them burn. It was horrid. But the judge who came in was amazing. He was funny and understandable. (And he built up our egos a bit)

Then awards, where it realized how much effort I had put into this and that it was all worth it. Cause we won Grand champ and all the caption awards. The treble group got first in their division. The prep group got second in theirs. It was awesome.

Overall today was amazing. Between my knee and feeling like we weren't gonna be able to do what the groups of the last few years had done I had forgotten why I love show choir.

    And guess what? I remembered!

It's cause I spend all day thinking about my friends even the ones who aren't there. I build up energy and then I get an outlet for it. And then in some form there's a reward. Not in the trophies but in spending time with amazing people around me and on my mind and feeling happy because of it.

But just because I love it doesn't mean I want to do another Monday competition again.

Sounds like a roller coaster! Congrats on the award!!

We don't have Show choir here(I'd actually never heard of it until kajsa mentioned it in an SU once), so do you mind answering a question for me?

      Is it anything like Glee???

Don't kill me please, that's my only experience with it and I know its a TV show so probably not accurate but I need to know! :P.

I actually haven't seen like any Glee so I can't really make that judgement but I'll give you a link to a show from last year and you can make the judgement yourself?
