    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

"Like, agree to stop fighting and junk so I can fight the other guys," February explained. "It's probably for the best, Arke, I don't want you to get hurt," August said from were he was being held down.

"Well that didn't last long," Febraury said, still on top of him. "Wanna surrender now? That'd make my job easier."

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

Soon they turned off the main road, pulling down a long gravel drive that lead between hills. At the end was a large multi-floor building with a flat roof, it'd been built in the northern style, making it feel out of place. (This is one of February and December's residences, because the emperor trusts them a lot he lets them live outside of the palace here, and of course up north were they're primarily in charge. April will have been here before on a few required social calls, but she's not super familiar with the place). He can't get a good grip because February is pinning him to the ground, and trying to hold his arms down. He swung his sword at her again, this time her torso.

He dodges out of the way, a little stunned, and the knife clatters to the ground.

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

After a few minutes, they left the city and rode out into the country side, past shadowy farmland. October grins at him. February jerks back so the throw doesn't go all the way through and they crash to the ground, February on top of him. He managed to block it, but just barely, the knife skidding down his blade. He shoves her away, hoping she'd loose her footing.
  7. "Likely . . . not a human, or at least not anymore . . . there wasn't any blood." Liv said, standing and taking a few deep breaths to calm herself. "We really should go inside."

February grabs his wrist as he punches him, but his fingers slip and not all of the impact is avoided. He tightened his grip on Arke's wrist and twisted his arm behind his back. "Woah, you got a hit in, nice one kid," October commented. February rolled his eyes. "Either way I'm hoping the worst of it blows over, we can of course wait in at our villa that's a few miles away." December said. She pulled the curtain on the window back to glance out at the city. They were far way from the palace now, weaving their way though the main roads of Jouken. Traffic was lower now because of the time of day, so it went quickly. He dodged her blow and drew his sword, realizing her under-estimated her. He then swung his sword down on her shoulder as she turned to go.

He ducks under just in time, and lounges in to strike Arke's shoulder with his hand.
  10. The mimic tips back and it's back service slams into the ground with a loud thump. The mimic shrieks again, it's legs and pincers wave in the air as it tries to right itself, but none are quite long enough to touch the ground. Nera grabs the rope. "Should we try to tie it down while it's immobile?"

"Thanks, but I'd rather not be the head of an empire that's actively imploding . . . Plus Jeko would want me back in the north."

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

She sighed, "February and I won't try for the thrown of course, we'll just go back south and try to secede our province, that is, if I can get Ary away from the fight." February lands in a crouched, skidded across the tiles a little. He let's Arke come to him this time. "October do you have anything good on you?" "Nothing I'd let you touch," He replied, clearly amused by the fight. "How truly unhelpful of you."

"Yeah, who knew June would do that?" She replied, misunderstanding April's comment. "He seemed so harmless, but I suppose that might have been why . . ." February grabs his foot before it makes contact, twisting him and throwing him against the ground. "August do you have your yanyuedao with you?" "What?" August asked from where he was still restrained by October. "Of course not, why would I have that?" "Just asking . . . those are so fun to fight with."
  14. The luggage was also strewn about, almost definitely by the mimic. One of the crates had opened and golden coins were falling out--something about them looked wrong, though, but it might have just been the moonlight. Nera found her crossbow, pulling it out of the grass. "Or . . . the back of it is flat, we could push it onto it's back and it might have a hard time moving?"

"You could try if you wanted . . ." December said, clearly calculating it all in her head, "But I don't think you'd have many supporters--no offense or anything."

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

December rapped her knuckles on the roof of the carriage and it started moving, clattering over the stone paving a bit faster then it was likely used to. "This'll all blow over in a few hours--at least, the initial conflict will," December said matter-of-fact-ly. "We'll have to see who tried to claim the throne first, mostly likely it'll be March. January will push back on it but he pushes back on everything." February turned without blinking. He caught the knife and using it's momentum, threw it straight at Arke. "Knives are boring too . . . not flashy enough."
  17. Liv watches her in horror, taking another few steps back despite herself. "Well at least . . . at least the gun worked," She said, voice cracking as she fought down panic. @Ookla the Inconclusive

"I shouldn't have thrown the sword," He said mournfully as he approached, "Hand to hand is so taste-less." February was on Arke the next second, whisking his feet out from under him with his own foot.
  19. "That would be a fantastic idea if we had a way of doing that," Nera grumbled, she was now searching through the brush trying to find her crossbow that she'd thrown aside.

    FANTASY-NO MAGIC

Soon, they were outside, exiting through a door on the side of the hill, below the main palace. The guards led them across a crumbling stone walkway that connected with one of the small courtyards at the bottom of the hill. Soldiers outside were rushing back they way they had come, and a few noblemen stood in packs whispering and uncertain. Carriages and horses were rattling out of the courtyard at a surprising speed. One of Decembers guards ran ahead, and soon her own carriage pulled over across the stones. It was a simple and well built, with very little decoration. As it pulled to a stop, December shoved April inside and then pushed in herself, closing the small door behind. Suddenly the space he'd been punching was empty, and February was behind him. While Arke was still in the air he grabbed the back of his shirt and threw him to the ground. "Oh . . ." He said, sounding disinterested, "You're very fast."
  21. It's drafty, inside. A small cot sits on one end, the rest of the stuff Nera hadn't finished unloading sat on the other, in crates. Master Igenes's cot is tipped over, the blankets torn. His bag is tipped over and his personal items are all over the floor. It's impossible to tell if the mimic did this or if it happened before. The pincers loosen as he stabs them, and the mimic screeches again--this time low and guttural. It let go of Dint and lumbered backwards. The blood has little effect unfortunately, man-eating mimics aren't very squeamish.
