As his form dissolved, blood dripped to the ground at his feet.

"Nothing," he said quickly. "I think I'd better just dematerialize." He began to fuzz at the edges.

Variance was looking around at the landscape, then he suddenly turned away from the group, hiding his face.

Variance was also visibly uncomfortable, but he didn't really think there was anything to be done about it. "Let's just keep heading to the stardragon. If that's alright." @Szeth_Pancakes

"I think we decided it would be safer to go, considering the two organizations that are actively out to get us."

"Fellowship? ...Nevermind. So we want to get both of you back to the same place?"

"Anyway, you just appeared here? Randomly? What were you doing before that?"

"Well, I'm not exactly alive. Actually, I'm hardly a person. I am a thing of Perception."

Hello, friends. I made an SU asking if I should do this and three people said yes, so here I am. I wrote the beginning of a story/novel about three or four months ago, based on a very loose premise that I came up with a while before that. Some of you have already seen it. Currently I have a prologue-type thing and two additional scenes. I'll start here with the prologue, the same one I wrote three or four months ago, lightly revised. I hope you like it, at least a little. It's still pretty rough, so feedback greatly appreciated if you have the time. Or you could just briefly let me know what you think. Or you could do none of those things and not read it at all! It's up to you. I hope you read it, though. It's not that long ꟼ: As for plans with this, I honestly have none. Like I said, there are two other scenes, which I wrote yesterday and will post here soon probably, but this story is absolutely being made up as I go. Will it end up as a disjointed mess? Probably. Will I only post here like twice a year? Most likely. But... I'll try. We'll see where my short supply of creativity and motivation take me.

"A planet called Akcali. So... who are you and why are you here?" Variance formed in front of Pyro. @PyroPhile

Variance, who wasn't visible to anyone except Allera on the edge of their vision, said, "This is odd."

"Uh, Allera, that person's falling," Variance said urgently. @Szeth_Pancakes

There was an awkward moment of silence as they flew. Variance tried to break it. "Uh... I've been wondering how my mind might work in developing relationships with people. Because it's been all frozen, so would I be able to truly become friends with anybody?"

His form quickly dissolved into little particles, and they rushed up to them, becoming again like a strange presence on the edge of their vision. "I can keep up like this. Let me know if it's too distracting." @Szeth_Pancakes

"Great. Lead the way."

"Okay... I'll trust you. Let's just do this now, then. You said you saw one here recently? Is there any way you can track where exactly it is now?"

Variance grimaced. "Are you sure you don't just want to find somewhere to hide in this universe?"

"How powerful, exactly? I don't want to do this if it'll get one of you killed."

They can be. They are usually 2GB servers, and the latest versions are recommended to be hosted at more like 4GB/6GB. @Channelknight Fadran I can maybe get one. I might not be super punctual about it, though.

Hmm. Considering how taxing the latest versions are, those might not do too well. I'll see about a paid server...
