"No! It's not. It's not your fault what happened, and it's not your fault what I did. Really, I'm not too tired anymore. That was mostly because I couldn't sleep."

"A fair few days at this point... but I don't really need food, do I?"

"I honestly don't know. I keep wanting to think about it, but then you're here and it's all I need."

He smiled.

"You are beautiful."

"You can't say with certainty that you're not. It's not something set in stone, and you seem to have trouble seeing yourself the way I do."

"Why do you disagree?"

"There's much more to it than that."

"I'm sure I'm not. I've spent quite a lot of time, looking at you, talking to you, feeling you..."

"It's not a defined thing. I think you are extremely beautiful."

"I'm not kidding."

"You're beautiful." He seemed almost entranced.

"Me too." He continued to look into her eyes, during stroking her hair, holding her close. She made the pain that had haunted him his whole life feel like a distant memory.

I take it and give you a reflected copy of yourself in return. I have an alarm clock.

"Yeah." Despite the suggestion, he didn't move, comfortable with her there.

"Yes. We'll just try to find something a little less risky."

"Anything, with you. But it might be a good idea to look for some sort of work again."

He kissed her back, and let the world around them fade away.

I think they kept the core of the characters and story well, so I'm not too worried.
