You love me. And I would never abandon you. That is core to who I am, who we are. And since I had seemingly abandoned you anyway, the person you loved seemed like a lie."

    "You thought I had betrayed you, and for good reason. It was likely no better than I would have fared in the same situation. It also wasn't your fault. It was unavoidable."

    "It only lasted an hour or so. Considering that you had just been locked away for a year, thinking I had abandoned you, I'd say that's pretty remarkable."

    Envoy stood in her room, waiting, though how he had gotten there was difficult to tell.

    He walked with her, a bit uncomfortable after what had happened the last time they had tried to make this trip.

    "We should probably start at the university."

    He sighed. "Maybe we shouldn't think about it for now."

    "I don't know. Do you think it should?"

    "It's probably fine, just... odd."

    "After you went unconscious from that dart, they got me by hitting me in the back of the head with something. The strange part is, I've never gone unconscious from an injury, let alone been knocked out from a single blow."

    He smiled at her, getting up and holding onto her hand as they walked. "There's something... odd that happened. That I forgot to tell you about until just now."

    He held her tightly for a moment longer, then very reluctantly released her.

    "Yes... maybe now would be the time to find Rex and Daniel?"
