The sound of her voice was muted, and the atmospheric lights and noise now completely lost.

The noises and lights seemed to begin fading.

The muffled sounds sounded something like voices in tone and cadence, though they were completely indistinct.

The void was as unresponsive as he had been.

She had no luck.

There was no clear direction to it.

She heard a sort of muffled sound, and saw blurry lights.

There was nothing. Total emptiness and silence.

"I'm sorry, Elsie. I know you didn't want me to die."

"I don't want to be alone," he whispered into the void. "I should, but I don't."

"Am I alone?"

"It hurts," he said softly. "Can you hear me?"

He seemed to swallow it, then shivered. It didn't seem like much had changed, though. @Random Bystander

"Elsie?"

Unfortunately, he didn't seem to hear her response.

"Elsie?"

His mouth started moving like he was trying to say something.

He did not answer, or even seem to hear her.

Terrance's hands began to tremble.

A tear ran down Terrance's cheek, though it could have been mistaken for a drop of the water now dripping from his hair.

He seemed to reflexively blink a few times at the water, but still wasn't responsive.

He didn't react.

Uncharacteristically, he did not have any reaction to her touching him.
