Music and light floated in from the hallway, giving them both a supernatural sense of resolve.

Pic had been humming, trying to keep people awake and focused during this fight. He had followed the group and fended off minor guards who had been facing him. However, he felt something yank on his soul. It was as if something else was drawing his music towards.... something. Unknowingly, he began to imitate some of DGP's hum. His humming became more precise rather than the grand speed it was. His loop dismissed, he started a melody anew. DGP also felt this pull, and his humming became a little more grandiose and sweeping. A call-and-response melody was being communicated between the two, but neither side heard the other until they approached each other. A glow burst around them both, light pooling around them both, as they stared at each other, music still emanating from each other. Both Pics slowly drew their staves in the air and looped the call and response. "How?" Pic whispered. "I haven't the faintest idea....", DGP stated. Both simply stared at each other as the rest arrived.

So I was at a retreat las weekend. I got a grand total of 7 hours of sleep, and demolished at board games until 3:30 am both days. I also was in the worship team for piano, vocals, and ukulele! The best part was when I led I’ll Fly Away on uke and everyone just sang. It sounded so beautiful.
Flip side, my thumb did not feel so great after playing that. I strum with my thumb and exclusively my thumb so it takes a beating. Worth it 100%. If you want to see how bad, open up the spoiler box! (Nothing bad, just a large rectangular blister)

Pic, being distracted, only just now jumped through the portal, making much noise. Considering it was also where the note of Preservation was coming from, he was drawn there. With all of the noises, all of the inquisitors tuned toward Pic. He hesitated, then had a set, determined face. His hum turned into a choir, and he seemed to grow in stature, though he did not change in size. He made the inquisitors shy back, but then they al advanced on him. Pic wove between them like a dancer in a waltz, giving the rest of the group an opportunity.

Pic attempts to quiet himself, but it doesn't really work. He paces and waltzes in beat around the group, keeping an eye out for anyone approaching

Pic followed at a pace that was nearly a glide. Light and sound were emitting off of him, giving a feeling of purpose to all he passed.

Pic responds by smiling and looping the glorious, purposeful melody. He draws his staff in the air and loops it around his forearm. He then sings a driving, fast bassline and loops it around his other forearm. Once both melodies are looping, he begins to whistle in a hauntingly encouraging tone. Pic seems to stand taller, and moved more fluidly. He nods and hums, "Should you want help, just hum your song and I think I'll be drawn to you." He then keeps whistling.

Pic had followed, his song crescending into a song of strength, a song of purpose. With it, Pic found that he couldn’t. Stop. Moving. Forward. He didn’t know what drove him, only that he was driven. Aventine would recognize this as mimicking the effects of pewter. Additionally, as long as Pic sang, Aventine felt stores of power, stores of metal inside of her. Pic jogged up to Aventine, hopping from one foot to another. “Where now?” He sang forth.

As soon as she swallowed the bead, Pic heard a single, pure tone explode from her soul. It was so loud, so overpowering, so beautiful that Pic had no choice but to hum along, and hum loud.

Pic wanders in, stunned at the depravity. He hums a melancholy waltz that floats through the slums. As the song reaches people’s ears, they feel their sadness being acknowledged. Not lessened, not removed, but heard. Pic’s steps turned into a glide, making him look as if he is dancing. He followed Aventine.

Pic shrugged. “I don’t see why not. Know what music he liked?” “Yeah, what else would it be? Normal music doesn’t float in the air and play itself.”

"I don't understand." "Haven't seen him since the Rod Incident." Pic pulls out the crystalline rod. "Some people hunted for him in the underworld a while back, but I didn't go."

"Not much has happened at the clinic until you all burst in," Pic replied. "After the incident with the Oath Rod I focused on making my magic more useful. It usually doesn't interact with people who don't have magic of their own anymore."

Pic smiles at Jar Man. "You haven't changed, yet you have shifted for the better it seems," he hummed in a thoughtful tone.

Pic smiled and nodded. “Yep!” “Yeah, a medium for my magic. I haven’t met anyone else who can do what I do, even with all of the crazy characters here at the clinic.”

“I’m confused. Did my music not affect you at all when we were talking?”
