Ok I can complain about the exam now.
3 questions, three hours. That should tell you everything you need to know. For those of you who wish to know more, read onwards!
First two questions: incredibly “easy”. I had studied for these, I knew how to approach each of them (describe the motion of a ball 1) stuck to the inside surface of a donut and 2) attached to a spring with equilibrium length 0 stuck on a vertical circular track)
But PROBLEM 3 (A solid ice cream cone is spinning, with the axis of rotation through the center of the cone and out through the point. Then a ball hits the tip of the cone. Find the mass of the ball necessary to accomplish a 45° turn of the cone) WAS HARD. I stared at it for 40 minutes and then attempted to explain what I would do if I had time. I ran out of time so fast.
Anyway, I still hold my belief that physics is fun, and everyone should take calculus based physics once. But boy did that exam feel great and like crap.
