  1. Tomorrow is last day of teaching for me. I know all of the feelings are gonna hit after I’m done, but I feel an inkling of them now. Hence this mini rant.

Y'all, you don’t know how much potential joy and potential grief you provide your teachers. Same goes for your classmates too. And yes, I know that teachers provide potential grief and joy for students too. Both sides affect one another significantly.  My joy skyrockets when I see my students working and actually contributing to what we do in class, regardless of whether or not their answers are correct. When I see my students simply trying i get the dopamine.

If your teachers are good teachers, and anything like the ones I’ve worked with/tried to be, they love to see you succeed, and want you to graduate. The sheer amount of behind the scenes stuff that they do to get students to graduate is insane.

I know school is rough, I’ve been on both sides of the story and the roughness is constant. Both sides are just trying to make it to the finish line. So if you got a teacher who has helped you at all or done something small that makes things a little bit easier, even if it is just as simple as responding to emails quickly or giving back a graded assignment the next day, tell them thanks for me.
