    When her hand came away, it was clinging to her finger again. “Your hair’s pretty underwater,” Bar said. The dragon shied away from the light. “What?”

    It crawled up her arm and got lost in her hair. “Too late,” Soleil sighed. “That thing’s never letting go.” Bat swam over to get a closer look. A deep, grating sound came from within.

    “It just… feels wrong, I guess, doing that without permission.”

    “They get possessive,” she explained. One of the baby crabs was hanging onto her finger.

    She still hesitated. “I… I guess, if you’re sure.”

    Bat answered for her. “I’m Bat, and that’s Tam. How about you?” “I’m Soliel! Oh— careful of the little red crabs,” she called to Tam. There were indeed little red crabs, just chilling in the plants. One of them had hold of a flask, though.

    Bat followed. The shaft opened into a large room with many pretty plants. There were broken windows, crumbling pillars, etc. She turned to them, looking excited. “Hi! What are your names?”

    “You’d ask the people, right?”

    Bat followed. His shirt was already wet, anyway. She beamed. “Here, come in!” The water dipped and parted, leading downward in the deeper part. They could see a shaft, leading downward into some kind of place. - She rolled away. “What now?” She shouted.

    She swam closer. Her hair was dark, and she had a tail. “Please? I could show you my palace,” she offered, sounding almost desperate. “I’ll be fine,” she yelled. “Let’s just kill this thing!”

    She nodded thoughtfully. “That makes sense.”

    He hesitated again, then sighed and took her hand. He got out and grabbed his shirt very quickly. “No, wait!” A girl swam up from the bottom, just under the surface. She didn’t emerge, but they could hear her perfectly. “I haven’t seen anyone in years…” - She wrapped her legs around the horn, then stabbed the creature in the eye.

    She snarled. - Rose waved from the head to make sure he saw her and wouldn’t hit her.

    She brightened. “Really?”

    Bat followed, but hesitated to get out. “Wait, wait! No, I— I haven’t seen anyone in years! Please? Just come in for a bit?” She grinned and jumped, grabbing onto the horns.
