    ...I don't know. When people care about me, I guess... maybe a lot of the same things. So... is that what we wanna do, then? Go adventuring and maybe save people sometimes? And if so, can we visit my family?

    Yeah... I guess they just want me to be happy. He felt a little bit warm thinking that. But....... I dunno. I still feel small. Well, I don't know what to tell you! I can't just stop being sad! She thought on that for a minute. "So tell me more about humans. Why do they stay near each other if not to enhance their mutual power?" "Well... where would we go?"

    She took his hand and followed him into the jeep. The HECK?

    She curled up tighter. “But… they’d probably come after Bat. And I don’t wanna cause him any problems.”

    She looked down at her hands. “You could kidnap me,” she said hopefully. “Leave a ransom note.” I know they love me. which is nice. Fine, he agreed, sounding tired. Go ahead.

    She left. “See you soon.” The popcorn chased back. She blinked at him. “…if you don’t have a shower, you can borrow mine.”

    I dunno. Is it dangerous? She curled up tighter. “So what do I do instead, huh?” “I don’t know how to stop,” he said, voice muffled by the pillows. “But hey, at least I provide my family a source of entertainment.”

    …show me what? Aden waved for them to come to the jeep. Bat wondered how she’d react if he smothered himself. He didn’t like how long he entertained the thought.

    But I don’t wanna move. I guess not. “We’re almost there. Haven’t picked them up yet.” Aden pulled up next to them. “I’m with them now.”

    She led him through utilitarian stone hallways to a smooth, unmarked door. She handed him a dagger. ”Carve it up so you’ll recognize it.” Which was too small.

    No. I don’t want to. He put another pillow over his head. I’m confused. She completed the transactions and gave her the room keys.
