Do you ever feel like you write a piece of yourself into a character?
I love this final post because it does something I usually never do: It wraps up the storyline in a neat bow. (Without writing an over the top death scene or in other ways killing the character)
Sure, it may be cliché or cheesy or dramatic. But I like it as it is. And it satisfies me. And after so much struggle and pain that I felt through my character, with my character, at the same time as my character, and as my character... I feel like Junior deserves this ending.
This post is an emotional rollercoaster. He makes big decisions here. But in the end, he made a heartwarming conclusion. One that I wish I would make. He didn't choose between two options: death or freedom. He freed himself. And the ending, though cliché, is one that lets me rest at ease with myself and with the character.
He earned it.
