Now I've read Tress and Sunlit, I'm gonna give my thoughts here. (4: Frugal Wizard. Haven't read that one, probably won't for a while. From what I hear, it will probably end up here anyway because I don't see it top the other SPs.) 3. Sunlit Man. Really great, but I felt that we had too many holes in the main character's story to fully appreciate it. It might be improved with later Cosmere releases. Also, the permanent breakneck pace made it exhausting (which I guess was what he was going for, but wasn't exactly what I needed right now.) Again, great book, but not my favourite. 2. Tress of the Emerald Sea. Banger from end to end. I fell in love with the characters as soon as they were introduced, the worldbuilding was incredibly cool... Pretty much an instant favourite for me. Best read by a crackling fire, or with a blanket if unpractical. 1. Yumi and the Nightmare Painter. Just as Tress, an instant favourite. Some of Sando's best character work with Yumi and Nikaro, cool worldbuilding, a nice plot with a brilliant climax... But what inches it ahead is how much I connected on a personal level to Nikaro's struggles. Even though my brain is whispering me that Tress is the better book, my heart and my vote go to Yumi and the Nightmare Painter *whispers* Everyone. I think he's watching

I haven't finished TOTK but you know all of that is just surface-level similarities, and/or incredibly common tropes that existed waaaaay before WoT? Like "Age of Legends" well there aren't an infinity of ways to call a very ancient golden age of which there are only legends left Similarly OP legendary swords are not something WoT invented (cough cough Excalibur), and the Flame of Tar Valon and the Dragon's Fang are just a yin and a yang. Same for ouroboros, it's an incredibly common imagery for anything cyclic. And for the Dragon Reborn - there are no actual dragons in WoT, it was just a surname. This is entirely a coincidence. (I'm not sure if you were sarcastic. If it was, well sorry.)

I might have to take that back. I'm so fed up with myself. I have so many things that should have already been done by now. I had nothing else to do yesterday. But of course instead of trying to catch up, I'm gonna burn down the software that limits me and just play for half of the day. Why can't I just do things? I have the means, the time, the documentation. All I have to do is just do it. And even then, nothing. Even when I wasn't playing, it was something else - Youtube, downloading another game on my phone, or just doomscrolling the internet. I don't know what to do anymore. I have a presentation to do tomorrow and I can't possibly make anything decent by now; what am I supposed to tell them? They're not going to accept the "I couldn't do it" excuse again. And all of that for a game I am not even having fun anymore with Anyway, since games make it even worse (just have to check how well I slept last night vs the previous one) that's done. Steam account is going to be deleted forever, as well as everything game-adjacent on my PC. I'm so done with that.

They are both crabs from Roshar. Also, have we ever seen a baby chasmfiend, or an old axehound? It's obviously because axehounds are actually chasmfiends larvae! Later in their life cycle, they go to the chasms, make themselves giga-cocoons and turn into the things we know as chasmfiends after a couple decades. There is a high rate of losses among axehounds during the trip to the Shattered Plains, which is why there are more axehounds than chasmfiends on Roshar. Fortunately, the axehounds are fertile uner this form, making the survival of the species not a concern. (Shallan is wrong about the chasmfiend population fall, it's just because the war prevented the axehounds to hibernate properly.) Theory: Syl is actually Ba-Ado-Mishram who got implemented false memories. After Die Hard, the next action movie remixed in SA will be Total Recall.
