I cede the point, but i think the statement stands even without that

Fair but a survivorist would say something similar about kelsier and his actions. After all, his snapping was miraculous and lends credence to the idea that he was chosen to deliver a divine message. from their point of view the same is possible

Ive had this idea brewing in my head for a while and have finally fleshed out a lot of the parallels. The story of kelsier deeply echoes many of the elements of the story of Moses in the book of Exodus. Both were members of the opressed group who were raised by the ruling class. Both play the role of a savior of their opressed people. Both inflict severe punishments upon the cruel ruling class. I can also see marsh as a kind of aaron figure. Any thoughts?

So I just finished my tress reread and am wondering if we have any W.O.Bs on the topic of zephyr spores being used in flight. They seem to be a pretty renewable resource, after all there is a litteral

So my friend (who I introduced to the cosmere) is convinced that the survival shard is adonalsium. As in adonalsium's conciousness survived in that shard. I dont think this is possible but dont know for sure. Is my friend's theory even plausible here?

You never once mentioned a three spike rule.
That can happen under any system, or do I need to list the numberous human rights violations of literally every country?
So you buy anything that you see that looks interesting?
Well, they can't bond other spren, so why would they be able to use this Investiture? Now if Ishar perfects his process of bringing them into the physical they might be able to.
I find the fact that you called me pointing out that shards can mind control spiked people condescending in the same breath you made all of these statements rather amusing.
When did you even mention three spikes?
If you can't answer, why should I assume that there is one?
You do realize that was in response to multiple Scadrian factions, with known hatred of each other, one of whom was literally willing to let five million of the other faction die if they didn't get what they wanted, uniting right?
Regular soldiers, like not Kaladin, but regular rank and file can afford to send messages via spanreed. TEN years before this battle occurs, with fabrials actively becoming cheaper.
Roshar doesn't have many native diseases. And even if they did the natural Investiture in people will largely protect them.
I didnt mean native diseases I was refeing to the fact that diseases from other planets might be more deadly to someone w/o the immune system to cope with the disease

woah this is a long thread. I think in the long run, either Odium wins and Roshar has a super army of Odiums servants aka Scadrial is screwed. Or Dalinar wins and Roshar has the most battle hardened army ever to fight a military on Scadrial, which hasnt seen war in hundreds of years. aka Scadrial is screwed. On top of this roshar has better healing abilities so in diseases that spread between diferent groups when they interact. Roshar is better prepared

You guys in this thread have gotten me obsessed with Hadestown now. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME.

The Radiants are inherently limited by their oaths. They have to follow their own Geneva Convention. They have limits caused by internal struggles. The reason they are powerfull is they are using honors investiture w/o honors restrictions. On the other hand the enemy has a functioning god and they dont. You dont get plate until 4th ideal(correct me if im wrong on that one.) And no shardblades at first. Fused arrive with all of their powers and they know how to use them. The radiants cant win unless the fused stop coming. Its like trying to win a shooter game where you have one life and a powerfull weapon but your enemy has a good but not great weapon and infinite respawns. Doesnt matter if you are better than the enemy you just cant win

Alright so I'll break it down into a step by step process:
Step 1: Possess matching Allomantic and Feruchemical powers, such as having A-Gold and F-Gold.
Step 2: Fill your Metalmind. Make sure it's something you can swallow like a bead or something.
Step 3: Swallow your metalmind and Burn it Allomantically. The Metalmind will 'Trick' Preservation/Harmony's Investiture into fueling the Feruchemy and provide you with far more of the attribute than you put in. Like taking a hand crank flashlight and hooking it up to a generator.
Step 4: Store the excess attribute into another metalmind, then Burn that, get even more than before, then store that excess into another metalmind and repeat.
And thus you have unlimited Health/Speed/Strength/Weight/Whatever metal your Feruchemy is.
thanks but i have a few more questions
1. why is the end result only ever the feruchemical result rather than the allomantic
2. What abt things like identity or memories how do you have those unlimited
3.wouldnt the lord ruler have just had unlimited age in that case. WHich would just make him infinitley old. not keep him alive

Ive jut finished my reread of mistborn era2(there arent any spoilers for it in this post) and I just wanted to know if somebody could dumb down exactly how compounding works for me. Its always just been a okay that happens thing for me but ive never understood the exact mechanics.

It just occured to me that warcraft 3 (reforged or otherwise) would make a fantastic base platform for Stormlight mods. if anyone could do this that would be great
Ideas:
You would have a Human and Singer faction
Windrunners and Heavenly ones are your flying units.
You could do cool stuff with hero abilities.
Shattered plains map!
The 2 settings could merge almost perfectly

So im at the point where im being asked what I want for christmas and my most obvious responses would be mistborn house war or mistborn rpg. Both seem to have mixed reviews though. I have other stuff i can ask for so i wanted to know if house war is worth it.

Nedwin strolled into the room. Then turned to Clanda "see, I told you shouting in their ears would work"

So. heres the idea guys. Starting now and lasting this school year, the goal is to get as many new sanderfans as possible. for someone to qualify as a sanderfan, they must read at least two books. Each player will be submiting the number of new sanderfans they have created. To reward getting a dedicated sanderfan you get points based off of how many sanderson books the new sanderfan has read
each short story is plus one
elantris+ 2 points
mistborn era 1 + 5 points
each stormlight book counts for 4 points
mistborn era 2 + 5 points
remember, only new sanderfans count
an active shard account + 3(not because you told them to)
Alcatraz + 3
Reckoners +3
cytoverse series + 3
rithmarist +2

ill take it itl let my character sober up

Yes! I have been wanting to make stormlight dioramas for soo long. I assume there will be an adolin?

Nedwin flushed at the attention being drawn to his actions"I didnt think.." Nedwin moved into the restroom and began the painfull process of purging alcohol from his system

Nedwin runs over to the man on the ground and attempts to use fire magic to purge the poison from his system

This seems to indicate a duel of champions plot-twist(not suprising) I got the impression brandon was basing it mostly off of the players ruining it rather than his pre written game ending. I think interestingly this might be a mark against theories like child champion or adolin as a champion as this indicates odium might play it more straight but then the heroes mess it up. This is all of course pure speculation.
