It really depends on the consequences of the questionable choice and whether the questionable choice is reliable or not. Powerpowerpowerpowerpowerpowerpower. ^^Literally one of my D&D character's mottos though.

Unpopular Rhythm of War opinions
SymphonianBookworm replied to Frustration's topic in Stormlight Archive
However, Jasnah still made it so he wasnt a second late, and healed Ruthar. In those duels you are able to choose champions, and Wit choosing Jasnah as his champion does not break any rules. He did threaten to kill Wit... You can't walk away from a duel. He was the one who challenged Wit, even with provoking, and he has to deal with the consequences. You cannot challenge someone to a fight to the death, have them accept, and then realize that you probably shouldn't have done that and back out. He threw away a sword in a duel without surrendering. Him, refusing to fight because of his sexist ideals is not a good enough excuse for me to believe that Jasnah did not have a right to continue the duel after he deemed it "pointless." He did not surrender and no one died, signifying the duel would continue. -
Unpopular Rhythm of War opinions
SymphonianBookworm replied to Frustration's topic in Stormlight Archive
I just want to say- ...Jasnah didn't kill him- in fact, she arranged it so he wouldn't die- and like @ProcrastinationShard said, Ruthar was the one to challenge Wit to a battle to the death because Wit was mean to him. Also, he was the one who chose to fight, and once you enter a duel to the death you can't just toss aside your sword and say, "Oh wait, nevermind." That is not how they work. (Sorry if I sounded rude.) -
What I would give to see the fellow 8 people who chose "I like it!".

I absolutely love it. In Oathbringer I first thought that they should be together, and I was very happy to see that they were. The age difference and the intelligence and knowledge that comes with it is one of the reasons why Jasnah---dare I say---loves Hoid, and her... stability, (paranoia...,) intelligence, complexitiy, beauty, and her difference from the people of her time are the reasons why Wit likes her. I honestly love the relationship---I made a whole topic about it..........---and they are perfect for each other. We are able to see what these characters are like on another level, and I think their relationship has a lot of potential. Like, world-taking-over-and-worldhopping potential. Hm, I wrote this all in italics. Whatever.

I find her quips annoying (not to be rude or anything. They just aren't my style). I was so annoyed at her for stealing Kaladin's boots and acting like ever stormlight lighteyes acts. Then she was being all indecisive over whom she liked more- Kaladin or Adolin. It's so main-character like... most main characters think that they are so "ugly" and that no one likes them, but literally, so many people fall in love with them... I was very happy with Brandon Sanderson not including anything like that in his books, but Shallan dissapointed me, since she was someone who was beautiful, but insecure about it, and had many people crushing on her and her having a hard time picking who she liked... There are many examples of this "main character syndrome"---for example, Alina Starkov, Sophie Foster, etc. I really dislike books that conform to the cliches and BS books usually don't, but Shallan did, which made me sad. Also, as I said earlier, she doesn't have proper respect for Jasnah- or anyone really, and she never tries to change that. It annoys me.

I have a lot... ...most of them are insults from Wit. There is the “I hid your honor in a place you could never find it: in the arms of someone who truly loves you.” also, the “An uneducated, half-brained serving boy with a hangover could make mock of you.”

Does Anyone Ship Jasnahoid (Jasnah & Wit)?
SymphonianBookworm replied to SymphonianBookworm's topic in Stormlight Archive
Ooh- I forgot- Isn't it kind of fun though, that Brandon thought as he was writing the book, that "Hey, these characters actually might fit together!" It means that though he didn't plan it they were such a possibility that he wrote it in, and that they sort of became their own people- going off script. -

Does Anyone Ship Jasnahoid (Jasnah & Wit)?
SymphonianBookworm replied to SymphonianBookworm's topic in Stormlight Archive
Okay everyone- So I am just going to put why I ship them. I understand why you guys don't, but I think 1. Please do not ship Jasnah and Shallan please please no please I can't even- no. Just no. I do not like Shallan, and I think it would ruin Jasnah's character (and I am okay with same sex/gender ships, just to make that clear-) and I just can't see it. 2. Honestly, Jasnah has always been superior to everyone. She was the first to talk about Urithiru and Voidbringers, and she was ahead of it all. She's never really had an equal until she met Hoid. He has knowledge of the cosmere that she yearns for, and he, unlike many others, is willing to treat her as an equal even though she is a woman. I think he is the only one in the book who could actually understand her- she puts on a hard facade and is so intelligent and commanding, but she is actually able to feel pain and be insecure- and she, in turn, will listen to him more then others, question him- things not many can do- challenge his opinions, talk to him, and more importantly- she's really strong and focused. He can't distract her (like he tried to with the pen scene) and she is very intelligent. I do love their insults, too. Anyway, Hoid was the first to welcome her back from Shadesmar and they actually had a really interesting philosophical talk about where honor was, and if it lived. I honestly don't care about the age gap- in fact, the age and the wisdom that comes with it is one of the reasons I think Jasnah likes Wit- and I think the fact that the relationship humannizes both of them is good. Both of them are mortal (well... maybe not, but...) and both of them have fears and pains and terrible things that have happened to them. I think that they can (and I have said this before) understand what the other is like, and Jasnah could have the capability- her being Jasnah, of course- to become as smart as him. They could teach each other a lot of things. I honestly hope that one of them isn't playing the other (I do admit it is a possibility) and I hope so much Jasnah and Wit become this worldhopping couple that travels the world and takes over the cosmere. That would be so fun... WELL, I AM SORRY THIS TOOK THIS LONG! (My bullet number 2 I think got a little too long...) -
Hello everyone, It has come to my attention that my opinion that Jasnah and Wit are perfect for each other is very... Unpopular. So, if there is anyone out there like me who actually ships the two, please, let me know, so I am not alone in my belief. Hopefully I am not the only person who has read the Stormlight Archive who ships them. (Please don't murder me for supporting the relationship, Jasnahoid dislikers.)

Hello, Peoples From Far A Wide.
SymphonianBookworm replied to SymphonianBookworm's topic in Introduce Yourself!
I love Keeper of the lost cities and Six of Crows!! SOC is definitely my top 3. So good! I’ve also read the whole LotR series. Tolkien is very iconic and just a genius. -
Hey- I joined last week, and I decided to make a little introduction speech. So, I had a bookclub, and someone I met there introduced me to the Stormlight Archive. So now, a few months later, I've read all four books in the Archive and both novellas. I've finished the Mistborn Saga, and I am reading Arcanum Unbounded. If anyone has any books to recommend, I am v e r y open. I personally think that Stormlight is the best Brandon Sanderson series I've read. Also, we all love Wit/Hoid/Cephandruis. Literally my favorite charcater... in all the books I've ever read. Well, yeah. Hi people. I exist.

The KOTLC Club
SymphonianBookworm replied to EmulatonStromenkiin's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
Okay---what are the ships people support? I am on team Sokeefe, Tiana... Tam and Biana are the best. Also, hello. I was invited to this wonderous forum by EmulationStromenkiin. -
I also love KOTLC (Shannon Messenger write the last book all ready...) though—since I am a very picky reader (Brandon Sanderson books are some of the few that made the cut into my top 3) and unfortunately I hate Sophie Foster. Your opinion on her? Also, do you ship Sophitz or Sokeefe?
-
Your signature says technopath---have you read KotLC?---and also, what is the Alleyverse? I checked out the link and it looks pretty fun but I am still kind of confused.

Thank you so much!

OH my gosh- Can you please send it to me too? I'll (of course) give you credit. If yes I can send my account name-

Well, if you're okay with it- I've been wanting to make a D&D 5e Stormlight campaign, but the logistics have been... eluding me- so, if possible, could you share some of the stuff you've made? It's okay if you decide not to. How long did it take to make it?
