Saaphir quickly surveyed the situation. He saw Ji lying on the ground, bloodied and barely concious. Saaphir ran forward, dodging past corpses, slashing at some. He reached Ji and laid about himself with his katana. He slashed through several corpses, standing beside Ji and fending off encroaching enemies. He lopped off one corpse’s legs at the knees, then felt a dull pain in his foot. It grew sharper, flaring in pain. He spared a brief glance at his bare left foot, which was covered in blood. He’d been shot. In the foot. Who got shot in the foot of all places? Saaphir grimaced, trying to ignore the pain as he fought, trying to keep weight off his wounded foot.

Saaphir reached Ne’ik, then grabbed him by the ankles and hauled him off to a side room, staying low. He closed the door, leaving Ne’ik tied up in the room, and rejoined the fray.
-
Saaphir awkwardly drew his katana, an awkard process from behind his cover, a large cabinet that he’d overturned. He got it free as a corpse came around the corner. Saaphir got his blade out in front of him, but there wasn’t enough room to swing. He slammed the palm of his left hand against the dull back of his sword, slamming the blade through the corpse’s neck and severing its head from its body. If I stay here I’m dead. Saaphir thought. He peered out from behind the cabinet at the chaos ensuing. He saw Ne’ik, who was still tied up, and wasn’t behind good cover. He was only a short distance away. Maybe it was his guilt for killing Ne’ik’s brother. Maybe he was just stupid. Saaphir ran for Ne’ik, determined to drag him behind cover

If I have something sweet but kind of messy, like a donut, and I have stuff on my lips, I’ll lick my lips to clean it off, so I suppose. But not because its especially delicious. Wins

“Thanks for the food Elya.” Saaphir said, slurping up his food rapidly. “Haven’t had a full meal in weeks.”
-
“I had been watching him for a while, he escaped his bonds maybe 10 minutes after you left the building.”
-
“His wounds weren’t too severe, I don’t think he’s likely to die there, unless someone came along and killed him for his wallet. If he did bleed out, which is unlikely, then I am sorry.” Saaphir feels guilty about the lie, but knows that things will get very messy very quickly if Ne’ik knew. When Ne’ik eventually regained his freedom, as Saaphir felt he eventually would, then he would likely assume his brother to be missing, or killed by some criminal in the alley. This way, at least no more people would get hurt. It was a secret he would have to keep carefully, but he was no stranger to secrets.

Watched it the other night and enjoyed it! Keep listening to the soundtrack lol. I want to make a Smedry parody of The Family Madrigal, but have to make the chorus work…

Hello and welcome! I’m a big skyward fan, so glad to hear you’re liking it!

“He attacked us after I tranquillized you. We incapacitated him, and he passed out. We left him behind.” Technically true. Sapphir thought.
-
“Interesting. So how did you all meet each other?”
-
Saaphir turned to Elya, who was starting to prepare food. “Elya, right? You said I could join with you, provided I captured Ne’ik. I’ve done so. May I join in whatever action you’re planning to take next? I’m no friend of the Pacis, and wouldn’t mind sticking my blade in a few.”
-
-
“So what, you’re going to hold him captive indefinitely?”
-
Transparent
-
“I’ll wait and see what happens. I don’t think anyone ever answered my question. What are you planning to do with Ne’ik? He tried to kill you, did he not?”

“If possible, I’d like to stay. I agree with your cause. You are holding Ne’ik captive are you not? I was under the impression that he wanted to kill you all as well. So I’m in roughly equal danger.”
-
“Relative I think. To be fair, he did attack us. But I’ve been searching for my father’s killer for years. Arekon was the one. He killed my father in cold blood, and likely others too. I returned the favor. He got what he deserved.”

“I don’t mean to interrupt all the fun talking.” Saaphir said, rising from his cot. “But what are we planning to do with Ne’ik?” He gestured to Ne’ik, who appeared to still be asleep. “I have nothing more I want from her now.”
