Death by too-high-standards-induced heart attack.

@KChan: Thanks, toes are especially annoying since you can't really do much when you injure them, except tape them together or wear a flat, hard-soled shoe. XD Also, the pain has receded somewhat, so I have concluded that only one of my toes is actually injured, and that toe is either really bruised or fractured, since it's not swollen too much but it hurts like crazy. It's good news, after all! Wow, what's up with Minnesota? O.o I've never been to Idaho, but I heard it's nice, and if it's home, even better.

I think my mom broke at least one of my toes this morning....

I was gonna make the same type of joke.... Yeah, I suppose not having much of a "life" (for lack of a better term) helps make sure the day has enough hours in it to at least get the most important stuff done. XD Even still, people like me go crazy when they have more than....3 major obligations to fulfill on a regular basis. I switched to part-time at work, to focus on school, and I still barely manage to work on my knitting projects anymore. Maybe I need to take a time-management class. >.>

Imma gonna check out that RP today, in between reading my textbooks because I didn't start yesterday (it was my vacation day >.>). Thanks, Kerry! And I don't think I'd be able to juggle everything you are, so I admire you. Don't let me fool you, Joe, I might die off in the next week or so, there's no telling.

Wow, that's so cool! I don't think I'm ready for that type of thing yet.... But you did a really great job, I like it lots!
-
Oh wow, that must have been a little scary! I'm glad everyone is okay!

I would like to announce that reunions between super-mega-awesomely-close best friends after a long time of not being able to communicate are....so touching. I actually started tearing up. I had forgotten how much this person means to me.

Thanks, Chaos! It's (not-so) surprisingly good to be back. That works. It's nice to meet you, Kuri! I like shiny things. *licks lips, steals Kuri and runs off* Oooh, I will check out your RP. I'm not going to make any promises as far as joining, because I like RP but I often find it's hard to make time for it, but I will definitely look at it.

NaPoWriMo Day 7: Smorgasbord Prompt Day
Darth Squirrely commented on Darth Squirrely's blog entry in Darth Squirrely's Blog
Thanks! I think I remember writing this poem; it was HARD. I don't know how many times I had to reword it and rework it and change the overall idea. Huh, now that I think on it, that's not unlike any other writing process. I guess I know something of revision after all. -
Since my last post in this thread, I've kind of changed my mind as far as my major goes. I'm planning on transferring to a 4-year school, probably either for next year or the summer semester after. So I won't be getting my Associate in Liberal Arts. Also, I decided to do something more practical for my major--I definitely want to take some Creative Writing courses, but I plan on majoring in Early Childhood Education. I don't actually plan on teaching as a career, although I'm not opposed to it; I just think it's a good degree to have and it would help if I ever run a daycare (something I'm considering), and even if I don't.

*comes in hundreds of years later and sees that someone was nice and welcomed her to the site without her noticing because she disapparated forever* *waves at Comatose* Hi, even though you probably forgot you even posted here because you're probably dead of old age by now. >.> XD Thanks for the welcome, I think it's still relevant since I went away so soon after joining in the first place, so I haven't really established myself here much yet. Oh, and thank you, I'm glad you like my poems. I don't even remember what happened to the whole NaPoWriMo thing, I think...hm....well, that was around the time my roommates and I started having to look for a new place, and that was around when I started my new job, and thought I had a chance with this awesome guy I met (which, apparently, I didn't, for whatever reason--maybe I'm too nice, and he only dates girls who he knows for sure will break his heart? >.> ). Anyway, that was kind of my motivation to write poetry, I'll have to keep trying, though. Poetry is usually something I do when I'm full of emotion. Usually negative, but happy poems are fun, too. I also used to write poetry on Helium.com, but I haven't logged in on there in years. Which reminds me, if I ever want to earn any money from that, I should get back on that horse and keep riding. Also, pfft, my usual style of poetry involves a bunch of sentence fragments, some of which are meant to create a sentence, others that are just related to something or other.... I think anyone could write a poem, just take some prose and hit enter in the middle of each sentence, or after each phrase. XD "The wolf Ran swiftly through The night-dark forest, Padding softly, Silent as a ghost." **edit** I almost forgot: fistpound for Garth Nix love!! I recently read Troubletwisters, by Nix and Sean Williams, have you read it?

I know, you can learn how to do just about anything on youtube, these days! And once you do get into knitting, crocheting, etc; Ravelry.com is an awesome website to get TONS of free patterns, as well as those you have to purchase.... And it's also got a pretty fun community, too.

All right, finally I sent off that PM. I feel kind of like it was worthless, but maybe it'll do some good. XD I would like to announce that I'm very frustrated with Aplia.com's support team. Just throwing that out there with a big GRRRRRR.

Oh my gosh, yes, it's been so long I'd totally forgotten about that. XD I'll go take another peek right now to refresh my memory. So sorry!

Hmm, it wasn't that hard for me to pick up the basics. My friend gave me this DVD that showed me how to knit, and she helped me with the few things that didn't make sense to me. I haven't gotten into anything really complicated yet, but at the rate I'm going, I don't anticipate too many problems. I don't think knitting is really that hard to pick up, although that could just be me. My friend did comment that I did very well for a beginner, so maybe knitting is just one of the very few things I'm good at. In all seriousness, though, knitting shouldn't be too hard to learn, as long as you start out easy. My friend gave me a pair of US 7 needles, and some black yarn, and told me to give it a go. I'd say starting out with medium-ish needles and "normal" yarn (2 bucks at wal-mart kind) can make a lot of difference. If you're someone who needs visual demonstrations, look up videos or ask a friend to show you...if not, there are plenty of books out there (my sister had one that I stole and now use to reference whenever I forget something). Amigurimi is actually one of the main reasons I want to learn to crochet. I've seen so many patterns for awesome stuff, but it's all supposed to be crocheted! I gotta learn how to do that.

I would like to announce that I have a laptop again, and can use the internet for non-school-related stuff again!!

I finally ordered my own set of knitting needles a few days ago, I cannot wait till they get here. It'll be nice not to have to base my projects on the one pair of needles I borrowed from my friend.... XD >.> I'm knitting a blanket right now, which is going okay, although I haven't been progressing very fast since school and work started. I'm also going to knit this for my brother, and maybe his friend (if he pays me): Dr. Who Scarf Site I tried to have my sister teach me to crochet, but she barely knows the basics, so that didn't work out too well. I used to be able to embroider a little bit, I have an embroidery hoop with a partially-completed project from over 10 years ago in my room somewhere. I probably still could, if I wanted to, but I am definitely not big on sewing. Oh, and the best knitting pattern I've ever seen was entitled: "EXTERMIKNIT!"

I'm about 322 pages from the end of my reread of Lord of Chaos by Robert Jordan. It's totally messed up my book count for the year, but whatever, I gave up when school started. XD I'm also about a quarter of the way through A Game of Thrones, on audio book. I'm kind of torn. I like it so far, but even if I still like it when I'm done with it, I don't think I'm going to be able to read the rest of the books in the series. Various reasons. Oh well. I'm not sure what I'm going to be working on next, but I guess I'll figure it out when I get there. I don't really count my textbooks. XD

17th Shard Twitter Type People
Darth Squirrely replied to Silus - Shard of Flame's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
I always forget to tweet, so I'll go away for however long and come back and vomit up a bunch of tweets to keep people busy for the next....15 minutes. But if anyone's interested, I'm @DarthSquirrely . -
Hmm, so.... Okay, I'm going to stop pretending I don't remember every detail of how I found the Wheel of Time. XD I was a junior in high school, taking a Creative Writing class and having fun with it. We had a student teacher in that class, and she took over for a couple of weeks around the middle of the term. One of our assignments during that time was to write a "Rent-a-Character" short story. I borrowed Mogget from Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy, which was my all-time favorite series at the time (I still LOVE it). Our student teacher loved my story so much that she asked me about where Mogget came from, and I told her about Abhorsen. In turn, she recommended the Wheel of Time, by Robert Jordan. Her words to me: "It is REALLY good, but it will suck years of your life away. I highly recommend it." I promised to check them out, but I put it off until the beginning of the summer. I was bored, out of reading material and ideas, and I felt obligated to at least try WoT. Unfortunately, I totally forgot the author's name, so I went online and googled "Wheel of Time." Okay, so without going into TOO much more detail, I went to the library, was excited to see that it had copies of all the books out at that time, and checked out the first book. Instantly hooked. I read about a book a week, although I usually read at least one or two smaller books in between each volume. I finished KoD in October 2007, and I had heard something from a friend about RJ maybe being sick so I looked it up. Found out that RJ had died almost exactly a month previously. That led me to Dragonmount Forums, and that led me to Brandon Sanderson when it was announced he was going to complete the WoT series. That's pretty much it. >.> Oh, and my student teacher was right. XD

Such an interesting discussion on the new Ajah.... I ultimately choose Yellow, every time, because I think that's the Ajah I would most enjoy and be compatible with.... However, I would like being Green to some degree, and Brown even more so. But I guess my nurturing nature (hahaha >.>) just wins out, in the end. I've always enjoyed any job that involved helping people, and healing, whether emotional or physical, is something I love to help facilitate in anyone, if I can. I love seeing people happy and well.
