  1. - Renarin, probably, but I wouldn't want to steal him from Rlain - Adolin, because of course - I think Pattern and I could make it work - Rysn is super down-to-earth, and you would also get to give Chiri-Chiri scritches.
  2. Nope, I also stole it from Google images. All good :3 Rahh!
  3. Not sure if this is a typo, but page 876: "Storming Sibling bein'blind lately" appears to be missing a space.
  4. I like this -- I'm just not quite sure how Balance and Void work as Intents. As concepts, they seem a bit less intuitive than Change and Exist. In addition, I'm not sure if Change is 1:1 with chaos, or if Balance is opposed to Change in the same way Void is opposed to Exist.
  5. I like some of the theories being brought up, especially the Unified Field Theory one. However, it might be nice to go about this a bit more rigorously. First, what scenarios are possible here? How does the information stack up? Scenario 1: The Shard groups on the mural are the aspects of Adonalsium, which are separate from the Dawnshards. I find this one the most compelling, given Pagerunner's arguments. Scenario 2: The Shard groups are the aspects of Adonalsium, which are the same as/connected to the Dawnshards. However, I also like the idea that the Dawnshards are not the same, but connected to the super-shards and aspects. Scenario 3: The aspects of Adonalsium are the same as/connected to the Dawnshards, but they're not the same as the Shard groups. This one's less compelling to me -- I think the shard groups should probably be connected to something we already know about Adonalsium. Scenario 4: Nothing is connected. I don't think Brandon would do that to us. -- Second, I brainstormed a bunch of concepts that could seem like aspects (and put the theoretical Dawnshards in there too), and fit each Shard to a few different concepts -- I think that might give us a jumping off point for selecting possible groups of four. I'm mostly going based on feel, so if you disagree that's perfectly valid. Possible Aspects: Determination Intelligence Emotion/Passion Care/Kindness Creation Connection Strength Identity Exist Change Move Weigh Destruction Bravery Wisdom Shards (first pass): I think it's safe to remove a few of these: Intelligence, Wisdom, and Bravery barely come up, and Strength almost always gets bundled with Determination. Second pass: Possible Groups of 4: I'm not sure how confident I am in the Creation/Connection/Emotion/Determination theory, but it's all I've got for now. If you have any more ideas, feel free to copy paste my stuff and add whatever.
  6. Granted! You get some delicious sushi. However, it is now illegal for you to play any outdoor sports. I wish for my memory of the Stormlight Archive to be wiped so I can read it again without knowing the end.
  7. Granted! You lose the ability to say words with the letter v in them. I wish for the opening number of Into The Woods.
  8. Um, who are you and why did you just appear out of thin air? Literally just cats.
  9. Hi! I think you joined after I vanished a while back.
  10. I got 50k words for Nanowrimo a couple years back. Not super proud of the end result though.
  11. I think the world is actually ending?? Unmitigated horror.
  12. One thing I noticed while reading Wind and Truth is that the each Herald seems to be insane in a way that directly twists and subverts their associated attributes. (This has probably been brought up before, but there's a lot more evidence for it now.) Kalak's attributes: "Resolute and Builder." He's certainly no longer building anything, and in RoW he's terrified of being sent back to Braize, which makes it hard for him to make any decisions. Nale's attributes: "Just and Confident." While he appeared confident, he was no longer confident in his ability to be just, instead turning to an unhealthy devotion to the law. To him, it didn't matter whether what he's doing is just, so long that it followed the law. Chanarach's attributes: "Brave and Obedient." She still seems to be obedient, but she's definitely not brave when she tries to kill her own child to free herself of the Oathpact. Vedel's attributes: "Loving and Healing." It's mentioned in WaT that she is "indifferent," which would be in opposition to being loving. Battar's attributes: "Wisdom and Care." She becomes uncaringly focused on gaining more wealth than she could ever need, in defiance of wisdom or care. Ishar's attributes: "Pious and Guiding." He thinks that he is God, which is directly in opposition to the idea that you should look to a higher power for guidance. He could be seen as "guiding," but I think that attribute implies an amount of wisdom to his guidance that's not there. Shalash's attributes: "Creative and Honest." She sneaks around and destroys artwork of herself. Jezrien's attributes: "Protecting and Leading." Instead of protecting or leading, he becomes a beggar and abuses alcohol. I don't think we have anything on Pralla, though I could have missed something in Wind and Truth. This isn't super concrete, and doesn't hold up for some of the Heralds, and I'm not sure if it's just thematic, or if it has something to do with the mechanics of the Oathpact. Lmk if I missed anything.
  13. I'm having a hard time fully encapsulating my thoughts on this book. There's just so much of it to think about, and I enjoyed reading every bit of it. Since I'm fresh off my first read, some of this might be missing important context, so please tell me if my takes are bad or generally incoherent. A few things:
