  1. Hello. I am Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. *eats sandwich anyway*
  2. Kazh watched Grace cast fire and reacted before thinking, casting fire resistance on himself. So many corpses. He couldn't create fire in this mess, that would just make it worse. What about a firecloud, right around the Deathgranter? No, she was moving too much. Turning her into fire wouldn't work well, unless he planned to cast extinguish fire right afterwards. How would Elya react though? What could he do to help? Could he get close enough to touch the girl? He pulled out his knives and started pushing through the crowd of corpses, stabbing any hands that grabbed at him, but not going on the offensive.
  3. "Zeke? Who do you mean?" She was silent for a moment as the rest of his words sank in. "Wait. He's here?" Her voice quivered a bit, and her eyes hardened.
  4. Ricochet didn't really need a plan, did he? He could probably do this without one... right? He just had to do something. He approached one of the people on the street to ask about Epics and the person hurried away. Huh. The next person did that too. And the next, and the next, and the next... Bug very, very carefully crept over the top of the doorway and into Crystallix's lair while he was distracted talking to Neverthere. "We're talking about Berlin and Epics and survival and scouting. How many Epics do you think you'll recognize here?"
  5. *is too far away to come over and play* *cries*
  6. "How many of these targets do you guess you'll recognize?" Ricochet was finally here, in the same city as his father. He still needed a plan, since he had failed to come up with one on the way over.
  7. I would apologize profusely and ask if there was anything I could do to make it better. You see someone who hurt you badly, and you have one minute to say anything you want. What do you say? (You guys got along well, and then they hurt you emotionally. Like bad. It's been three months.)
  8. "You mean Thaidakar's breakfast?" Tani resummons her Shardblade and levels it at the janitor. "Spit it out and give it back."
  9. Is beautiful and I love them all. The before and after one is interesting.
  10. I wrote a thing.

    Spoiler

Once upon a time there was a young boy named Luis. He started misbehaving more than normal. Calamity rose and there was stuff on TV about Epics. His family made a plan for what to do if one of them or one of their neighbors turned Epic - how to get out and where to go. They even put together ESBs, or Epic Survival Bags. One Saturday, just after an especially bad week of rule breaking, he promised to stay inside. He then proceeded to sneak out with a friend at a moment when nobody was watching him. They went to a small store that was still running as normal and walked out with a stolen toy. His friend was the one to take the toy out of the store. As they started homewards, they got in a verbal sparring match over who should keep the toy. The verbal spar very quickly turned into a physical fight. Luis had thrown the first punch. He went home with a black eye and the toy, while his once-friend went home with a split lip, a bloody nose, and more bruises. When Luis got home, his parents asked him why he had sneaked out. He made something up about a game he and his friend were going to play and told them his friend started the fight.

That evening, Luis’s sister dragged him out of bed, grabbed his ESB, and towed him down the stairs. The whole way down he had no idea what had possessed her, but it became clear as soon as he saw the Father-shaped absence in the living room, facing away from them - and toward their fearful Mother, who had just seen them. Luis watched as her eyes widened further, then narrowed slightly in determination. He watched as she started edging toward the door, watched as the Epic advanced, as Mother sped up, as she grabbed the door handle, as she started to twist it the Epic reached for her she melted into nothing. Just like that. Gone.

And then they were in the basement and no this was wrong this was all wrong they needed to follow the Epic plan, they needed to get out, not hide in the basement. The Epic would find them here, his sister would melt, he would melt, like Mother melted, and they would all be gone, gone, gone, except for an epic made of dark who didn’t want his son or his daughter or the love of his life, who wanted them gone, gone, gone, for no reason at all. His brain was stuck, stuck watching, and he wanted to look away. He wanted to stop it. He wanted to go back and fix what he had done. This was all his fault, wasn’t it. He broke the rules and Father turned into a not-Father. He broke the rules and the red star rose. He broke the rules and the world exploded. It was all his fault. Was it too late to go back, to keep the rules forever? If he kept the rules now, would Calamity go away? Would the darkness give his father back?

They were in the basement. Luis didn’t care. The Epic plan wasn’t a rule, and it was a rule that his sister was in charge when his parents were away. She wanted to stay there all of Sunday, so they stayed.

And the Epic didn’t find them. They didn’t melt. They weren’t gone.

    Monday came. They left.

For years, they survived. They moved, they cowered, they hid. Until one day, when Ricochet woke up and his brain was working differently. He knew exactly how high above his head the ceiling was. He knew exactly how far it was to the exit. He knew he could do impossible things.

He knew that no matter what he did, he could never break the Rules.

Or the world would explode again.

    1. Szeth's Facepalm

      Szeth's Facepalm

:o i love how chaotic the writing style is, it really gets you into the story

  11. This is beautiful and hilarious and I love it.
  12. "If common sense says scout, I'd rather scout. Live to fight another day and all that." She slung her rifle over her shoulder. "At least, for now." She thought about her words for a bit, then added, "The scouting bit, not the living bit. I'd rather not stop the living bit anytime soon."
  13. It depends. Did they hurt or try to hurt me or someone else before I hurt them? And how long has it been since I hurt them?
  14. Base: 5 This is beautiful and I love it. +2 Color. +1 Warm-fuzzy-feels stuff. +1 Kind stuff. +1 Ooh! Magic system! +1 11/10
  15. It should only say the names/email names of the ones it's shared to/owned by.
  16. Rosalin followed. "So this is a scouting mission? No more, no less?" She checked her rifle. "Do you want me on the rooftops or on the streets?"
  17. "Thaidakar, do you want your lunch back?" Tani dismissed her shardblade and pulled out her own lunch sandwich, offering it to the angerspren.
  18. I like it three.
  19. They are, I checked when I first got on it. Rosalin's ready to be played.
  20. Bug almost panicked, but barely didn't. Her breaths started coming faster, but they stayed silent. She had to fight herself to not shrink in fear. Moving wouldn't help any.
  21. its beautiful
  22. Bug stilled, assuming he'd heard her, hoping he'd heard someone else. If she didn't make more noise, they wouldn't see her. Internally, she scolded herself. You should have been more careful! You know this!
