Well, it does make you forget spells you know. Presumably it just comes first in the order of actions, causing the spell to fail

Wait actually Siannain being parseltongue would actually make so much sense lore wise with Ireland and St. Patrick and pipers and stuff

Holy mega post incoming That's precisely what Siannain is about to do He only knows two spells *grunt* and *thump* This is just experience from previous hidden vote games. Justifying things just is easier after the fact. And you're more likely to catch a contradiction after the contradiction is made. And if they say something early on the cycle, they have to explain why they changed instead of being able to pretend they voted someone the whole time They can do that anyways But actually, this might sound weird, but we kinda want the elims to manipulate the vote. It makes it much easier to find them. We give up one to two exes for an elim exe, we're still winning I agree with the bolded, and completely disagree with the italicized for previously stated reasons. Accountability, ineffectiveness, etc This is a common theme with Aman, not just this game, I'm pretty sure I have this feeling every time I play with him. I disagree with almost everything he says, but I don't really think it comes from an evil place/it's completely possible v!Aman does it So instead of being just insane, you decided to be hypocritical and insane I think this is a fair take away from what Aman said and don't particularly suspect Coco for it This is an insane takeaway imo This is also an insane takeaway. My current opinion is that we just do the opposite of whatever Aman says next Book accurate Thought you were solving the game?

You get used to it Siannain smiles. "I like Baron. I'll see if I can find him, I know a few places." There's been a couple posts saying this, but I disagree. Having votes in thread benefits the village much more than elims. If we don't hold people accountable to posting their opinions, they can vote whoever and make their reasonings up retroactively. It makes it harder for elims to defend teammates and push misexes This is also why Aman's hedging about fake reads is rubbing me the wrong way. It gives him an excuse to make whatever vote he wants without having to justify it today Current minuses are Aman, Araris, Doc, though I don't know the order yet.

I don't like Araris volunteering for Head Boy. Normally I'd say it's a rather bold play for an elim, but not for Araris I don't think. It's kinda odd for a villager to do imo, but fits an e!Araris playstyle Edit for roleplay: After the first years had gone up, Siannain came back down. "Azalea ( @Doc12 how much did you see earlier?"

I dunno Houses are NAI, the mix up with GMPMs is NAI (and any detail I could find there, I won't look for because we aren't supposed to use GMPM details as per the Etiquette? thread) I don't like Araris for PM reasons I suppose, but that's all I've got currently I find it funny that seemingly so many people are sus of me because... I'm Slytherin (NAI) and... not very active? I'm playing very typically though imo

MR76: Cycle Zero: The Sorting Hat

Siannain looked from the first years to the professor. Screams seemed much more interesting than first years. He shrugged and followed the professor. -

Siannain tapped his club— sorry wand against his leg absently. He fell into a comfortable familiar beat. He always missed the music back home when he came to Hogwarts. Not much else, especially with all the hoopla last summer. On account of bloodying that royalist twat's lip, Siannain had been forced to watch the first years that were sorted into his house. They expected him to lead them back to the dorms. The little idiots were probably going to get sick on the stairs. Hell, Siannain wouldn't put it past them to fall off the things. Maybe he should stop picking fights. That might get him less punishments. Nah. ~ Party PM? I like the sound of that. Who's going to Slytherin? I'm leaning towards one of the two. There's not much strategy here imo, I think villagers want big Houses and elims want small ones, but we don't know our alignments yet. -
The battle of the Rands I'll join as Siannain O'hAodhes (that's Shannon O'Hughes more or less for anyone who can't read Irish). He's an orphan who grew up in a gang in Dublin, and he prefers to solve his problems with physical force to the point that he is in his Seventh and final year and doesn't know how to cast a single spell. His wand is literally just a club with a leprechaun hair chore (I think they exist in HP? Idk). He's a star Quidditch beater (one of the types who says Quidditch when asked their favorite subject). For Doc: He's a lanky but fit redhead with stubble growing despite being 17.

What Are You Reading, Part 2
The Unknown Medallion replied to Chaos's topic in Entertainment Discussion
It does depend, but there's a couple different reasons it's easier for me. One of the bigger ones is that dialogue is almost always first person, and I sometimes forget to switch back. The information parity doesn't matter as me for me because I'm normally using a narrator style first person so I can zoom out if I absolutely have to. -

This is so odd to me. I feel like it does add to Red Rising. It allows you to identify with Daro and his trauma more personally than 3rd person, as well as making his incorrect assumptions harder to notice (I do have problems with the way plans/information is omitted in the latter books, but 3rd person wouldn't fix that) For Red Rising in particular, first person is far more atypical than 3rd. For sci fi and fantasy, 3rd person has long been the standard. The use of first person in (I guess pulp fiction? Romance and mysteries primarily) predates Booktok by decades as well. Romance, mystery and YA writers use first person because it's a genre convention that appeals to their target demographic and because, at least in my opinion, writing in first person is easier. It kinda seems like you just find first person to be a sign of bad writing (Also, the word you're looking for here is probably prose). I think PHM is about equal on a prose level to Sanderson. The Martian, which is the one that is epistolary in the form of diary/log entries, has excellent prose imo, not because it's particularly pretty, but because it does exactly what it tries to do. This is just a thought I had, do you have an internal monologue? And if you do, is it first person? I wonder if a lot of opinions on this come down to that -
LG110, Day 1-D: The Final Day (Inverted)
The Unknown Medallion replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I was always impressed, I'd read your posts, be like "I don't know about that logic" then go through the logic myself to reach the same result It's weird, I always v!read Doc, but at least once a cycle I'd get pinged by a post that sounded super elimmy. Alv has played a bit (maybe only one game tbh) recently, though he wasn't given the opportunity to use his full power -

Functionally cleared, because I see no world where a team with Mist doesn't have Mist put the kill in and win the game I really did not understand the Twinstorm exe back in the day, but I'm trusting smarter minds on this one. If we mess up, so be it Twinstorm -
