What Are You Reading, Part 2

See, I'm the other way around. I like Ender a lot more, I find him more relatable and his self doubt is much less obnoxious than Bean's superiority complex -
What Are You Reading, Part 2
The Unknown Medallion replied to Chaos's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Read Ender's Game on a whim and that spiraled off into a reread of Speaker for the Dead and a first time listen of Ender's Shadow. Rereading SftD really makes me feel stupid for not figuring out the twist earlier. I also, in the time between when I last read this book and now, have become much more proficient at Portuguese, which very much improves the experience. I've been groaning at my old pronunciations and skipping the sidebar translations this time around, and it's a cool marker of how much better I've gotten. I'm not done with Ender's Shadow yet, but I don't think my opinion will change much. It's a good book, but not on the level of EG or SftD. I just really don’t like urchin sequences (I skim Trebon in my NotW rereads), and though I got through it this time, the books been pretty average otherwise. I was on the edge of my seat when we learned about Bean's history though. -

If you haven't continued yet, I think the characters get better in the next one, though I haven't worked up the mental power to read the third yet I would agree on weird though. I've read literal villain characters who I disagreed with less than the conclusions the books come to -

Mafiaception This is like saying a book has a bad ending because your dog chewed the back half Kel be like: (This is not indicative of anyone's identities, as I said in the doc, I straight up don't know who anyone is) More in GM thoughts on the distro, but it boils down to: it wasn't as badly balanced as circumstances made it seem, and we should have committed to the bit more -
AG12 - Finale: Final Breaths <Callsign: Pearl Chameleon> Pearl Chameleon had heard their discussions. They thought Pearl was a Saboteur. True or not, the Coinshots wouldn't care. Pearl was as hidden as possible, but they knew it wasn't enough. They heard footsteps coming down the hall. Pearl had to fight, or die. Pearl Chameleon burst through the doorway, holding a gun in each hand. They turned to the first movement they saw and fired. Something hit Pearl Chameleon's back, and with a single push, the coin that, Pearl realized, had just pushed through their heart, came flying back towards them, the bullets Pearl had fired in tow. Pearl Chameleon stumbled, and fell. ⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙ <Callsign: Melon Dingo> (Provided by Melon Dingo) Stormseeker the Cowardly ran to his room at full speed. He needed to get away from that disaster. Why were there so many lurchers on this ship? Nothing was going to plan? Ships like this were SUPPOSED to have a certain crew composition. He knew that now after absorbing the memories from the book. A ship like this was supposed to have significantly fewer Lurchers and Coinshots. Something was wrong. He opened the door to his room just to find her sitting on the floor, waiting. “What is going on on this ship??!” Stormseeker shouted, but his voice came out at normal speaking volume, the air warping around him as if he could see the air viscosity thicken followed by a few echoes of what he said. “Quiet. Now. And close the door.” she snapped as a bird floated down from the light onto her shoulder. Her brown eyes turned blue for a second, looking around as if she wasn’t looking at the room. “There are at least 2 people nearby who would have heard you if not for Peaches here.” The Aviar chirped happily, “There's going to be three Kases!” She smiled at the bird for a moment in thanks, what looked like decades of pain and struggle suddenly wiped off her face. How old was she? But it all came back when she looked back at Stormseeker. “As I told you before, It’s imperative this ship DOES NOT” she said, a small shiver appearing in the air, “make it back to Scadrial”. The 5 of you were chosen specifically. And look at what you did? Especially you! You’re all proud of your luck. What luck is that when it’s based on killing those you’re supposed to work beside! What did you ask of the night watcher?” Stormseeker thought for a moment. He didn’t remember his meeting with the Night Watcher. That was back when he was Steve Evans. A person he hardly knew. “I asked for lu-” “No you rusting didn’t,” the woman whispered angrily. “I’ve never seen a more unlucky person in my life. Everything you try to do has failed on this ship. The only miracle is you weren’t the first person found out on this ruinous ship” and she stormed out of the room. Peaches started to fly off after her but turned around for a second. “Noted” the bird said with… a seeming question? It cocked its head for a second and flew away. How could she say he was unlucky! She didn’t know his life like he did. He wracked his brain thinking of all of his miraculous escapes and… it did start to look like perhaps he was often the reason he needed to escape in the first place? He led that mission against a much smaller rosharan force last year. With his strategy and his ships they were completely demolished. To his knowledge he was the only survivor. He was somehow promoted after that experience to help guide captain Vulture into being one of the greats but… Vulture was already one of the greats. He had led some of the most infamous raids and missions in the past and was taking a well deserved retirement. He had tried to sabotage the engines before Isabel was sent and all he did was make them go faster for a time. And now he had contributed to the deaths of 2 of his mission mates, Dugh and Arnold? Maybe his handler was right? Maybe he was unlucky? If that was true, how was he supposed to come even close to taking down the SS TYRIAN by himself?! And then he had an idea. ⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙ <Callsign: Melon Dingo (provided by Melon Dingo)> Stormseeker the Enlightened, Steve Evans of Hallandren, Traitor of Nalthis, wore Melon with Coral trim on the night he was to make his last stand. He knew he would not be making it off the SS TYRIAN alive; any attempt otherwise would probably guarantee his death. However, with his luck, he could try to help the crew escape the pirates. Stormseeker passed by the crowd gathered, as was so common, by Zense. The trap last night had failed, and more than ever the crew looked to Zense for comfort and leadership. After stumbling and accidentally disturbing the music, He continued walking and headed towards the engine room. He went in and saw the 4 stations with different allomantic fuels necessary: Steel, Pewter, Bendalloy, & Duralumin. There was a shovel at the side and Stormseeker started shoveling the metals into the appropriate allomantic areas when the door flew open and in walked one of the crew. What was their name again? Like Darren or Dennis or something? The man looked for a moment at Stormseeker, confused about what he was doing here, but smiled. “Thanks Stormseeker, that’s hard work and I wasn’t looking for-” he paused and looked closer at the labels, “rust and ruin Stormseeker, these labels aren’t in the right place. this is all wrong! This is going to need a lot of work. I’ll need space. Stormseeker apologized profusely and backed out, making sure to keep the smile off his face until fully out of the room. The strategy of trying to help was working… somehow… Maybe he’d be able to pull this off after all… It was then the intercom came on. Stormseeker please report to the mess hall. I repeat, Stormseeker please report to the mess hall *click* That couldn’t be good. Why did he have to seal off the bridge? Now that it was operational, anyone could use it. Stormseeker rushed over there to see what was going on. “Well well well” Said Turquise Gorrilla, “We found THIS in Zense’s rooms!” and brandished a vial of metals. It was unclear just from looking at it what the metal was, but Stormseeker had a sinking feeling he knew. “We found a Bronze vial” Gorilla continued, “and this of course only leaves you and Flamingo as possible suspects. What do you have to say for yourself!” “TYRIAN PURPLE!” Commanded Stormseeker and his bag spat out 2 small TYRIAN purple bags. One laced in silver and the other plain. Gorilla saw the bags and took a few steps back, “It was you!” Not responding, he opened both bags and saw a Shade emerge with Mauve eyes from the silver-lined bag. It took one look at Gorilla and sped off after them. Stormseeker sat back. He couldn’t believe his luck. They had been found out and survived again. And they even had one of their friends back… kind of… it was better than them being fully dead at least. He peaked into the second bag and saw a handful of silver dust. That could always come in handy someday- There was a flash in the corner of his eye and Stormseeker bolted. Glancing behind him he saw the Shade of Adonalsium Storming Reborn on his heels now with Crimson eyes. Grabbing a pinch of silver and throwing it behind him, he fled. ⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙ <Callsign: Azure Mouse> Jochen had been betrayed. He had always looked up to Fuchsia, even back when she had been just a third Lieutenant, and now she had betrayed the crew. She had set him on a wild goose chase, then disappeared. He wouldn't be distracted any more. He was going to find her. Jochen used his admin powers to fully access the ship, and he found the secret vents the Saboteurs were using to get around without the mob catching them. Then, with some clever triggers, he had used them to track Fuchsia Ostrich down. Now, he was going to confront her. He crawled through the twisting vents. It took him far too long, but he reached the hidden room where Fuchsia would face justice. Jochen steeled himself outside of the door. She had a Mistborn Medallion, he would only have one chance to catch her by surprise. Before Jochen could launch his attack, the vent swung open on its own, and he was face to face with the muzzle of a gun. ⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙ <Callsign: Fuchsia Ostrich> “We have an intruder,” the man said. He claimed that he wasn't the leader of the Saboteurs, that he was merely using them for some higher goal. Fuchsia thought he was just trying to save face in the light of their imminent failure. “How? You said these vents were hidden,” Fuchsia questioned him, wary. “It's your own fault, actually. Your pet Mouse got into the vents, almost certainly using the permissions you gave him,” the man glowered at her. “Jochen? Why can't he just leave well enough alone. We need to go,” Fuchsia began gathering her things. The man scoffed. “Still too weak to take care of him? I guess I'll have to do it myself.” The man drew his gun and pointed it at the vent as it swung open. “Stop!” Fuchsia yelled, lunging for him. AN12 - Night Three: Guilty of Murder

Night 3: Guilty of Murder <Callsign: Turquoise Gorilla> Aboard the SS TYRIAN, the Captain’s word was supposed to be law. The ole’ Vulture had been obeyed in every way, but now that Captain Amber was dead, and Captain Razer was in charge, it seemed like she’d rather keep her head buried in the sand then impose order. That left the Gorilla of Elendel to impose order. The Security Chief cracked his thick, koloss-blooded knuckles and walked into the pandemonium that was the mess hall. Shouts and food were flying every which way, but everyone shut up and turned to face Chief Gorbin when he fired three shotgun blasts into the ceiling at the door. He dropped the shotgun to his shoulder and smiled into the crowd of silent faces. “On one hand, I do appreciate the lack of immediate attacks coming my way, but on the other, we are being chased by a clan of Koloss-blooded pirates.” He wiggled his blue tinted fingers at them. “So if a different Koloss does come in here firing a gun. I expect you all to react better.” He scanned the room, now full of shuffling feet, until he found his target. He pointed. “Now then, Chiji Kaido, you’re being accused of fighting and murdering aboard this ship. Both Adonalsium-will-be-Reborn-Eventually and Klin the merchant were supposedly killed by you. So, since we are an orderly lot here, you’re under arrest. Not sure yet if I’m gonna deputize you or execute you, that’s up to the Captain, though I suspect you having stolen an Coinshot medallion is going to make the Quartermaster insist on you being made an example of.” Some of the crew looked like they were going to get up and defend Chiji, so Gorbin glared at them. “And, if Chiji resists the lawfully given order of the Security Chief during an emergency, I, and I alone, am legally empowered to execute him on the spot. None of this vigilantism business.” After a pause, Chiji did in fact stand up and make their way over to the door. Gorbin nodded approvingly and waved them out into the hallway in front of him. Then he turned to face the rest of them. “And remember, none of you should be leaving your rooms without very good cause tonight. If I catch one of you sneaking into the Comms Center, I’m shooting first and asking questions never.” Chief Gorbin ejected the three spent shells from his shotgun, then left with Scarlet Octopus. ─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ─── <Callsign: Azure Mouse> Jochen’s mask always itched these days. But he could have sworn it was itching more than normal. Chief Gorbin was Jochen’s biggest suspect for the majority of the Medallion thefts. Only Jochen, the Captain, the Lieutenant, and Gorbin had the ability to unlock the storeroom door. Of those, the Captain could have simply requisitioned the Medallions and the Lieutenant wasn't the type to steal from his stores. That left Gorbin. Jochen followed Gorbin down the halls, tracking him with his admin permissions. The man was about to enter a room with only one exit. This would be Jochen’s chance to confront him. He was approaching the door when Former Interim Captain Fuchsia Razer burst out of a vent. “Captain Razer!?” Jochen stumbled away. She was holding a bag of coins in her hand, a Mistborn Medallion hanging from her neck. She gave him a startled look. “What are you doing here Mouse?” She looked at the door, then back to him. “They’ve been looking for you, they tried to—” “I know,” she cut him off. “This isn't the time. Stay out of my way.” “What? What are you going to do?” He asked. She grimaced, then Jochen felt something… shift. He felt slightly dazed. “I, uh, ok. I'll just wait here. But I need to get Gorbin's Medallions when you're done.” Razer ignored him and walked in the room. Jochen didn't even question the shouts, the sound of metal hitting metal, nor the blood stains on Razer's clothes as she disappeared into the vent. Once she left, his fog faded. He looked into the room to see Gorbin's fallen body. Former Interim Captain Fuchsia Razer was a Saboteur. ─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ─── <Callsign: Salmon Meerkat> Dugh Thomas watched Chief Gorbin leave with Chiji, and started sweating. This crowd was riled up, and he had kept them all focused on Chiji, but without that the admitted murderer here keeping their attention, they might very well turn on him. “Well there you go Dugh, you got your wish, Chiji’s getting offed by that Gorilla.” Dugh didn’t quite see who said that so loudly, but a bunch of people did immediately look at him. “What? I didn’t, I just think Chiji’s evil because he stole a Steel Medallion.” He protested. “I mean, it seems obvious that if the Saboteurs are willing to blow us up, they’d prioritize stealing the Medallions that most easily allow them to kill us. It’s why I stole the Seeker Medallion, so I could find them.” “Ha!” Rane Cauthon stood upright and pointed at Dugh. “That just proves you’re a Saboteur. A true Loyalist wouldn’t steal any Medallion from Joachen!” There was silence. Almost everyone in the room shuffled uncomfortably. Rane looked around. “Right? A true Loyalist wouldn’t steal?” No one looked him in the eyes. The nameless scholar who had just kinda showed up raised a hand. “I didn’t steal a Medallion.” “Where you even here when they got stolen?” “No.” Rane sighed and sat back down. “Okay, nevermind.” Sullenly he pulled out a pair of dice and started to roll them back and forth. “Okay but thief or not, I think Dugh is evil.” Zense stood up to better address the room. Almost everyone recoiled at the bags under his eyes. Man had been playing his instrument to stave off ghosts for the entirety of the night, then spent all day talking. “There’s too much evidence to the contrary, and his story doesn’t make sense. He claims to be a Seeker, but most of his information was already public knowledge. He needs to go.” Before anyone could even try to refute or agree with it, Dugh’s nerves gave out and he bolted. He’d had enough. He really wished he’d stolen a nice Pewter medallion as he sprinted on unenhanced legs for the door. There were cries of alarm and calls of “After him!” He was tackled to the ground before he could even get through the door. He screamed as he fell, and smooth metallic hands picked him up and people began to tie his hands behind his back roughly. There were hands going through his clothing and pulling out items. The two most damning were his stolen Seeker Medallion, and the single link of the Continuity Chain that allowed him to command Adonalsium-will-be-Reborn-Eventually to attack Zense. The crew was somewhat surprised by his honesty about his Medallion, but the chain served as enough evidence, and Dugh was quietly killed. ─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ─── Salmon Meerkat was executed. AN12 - Night Two: Goals Beyond <Callsign: Fuschia Ostrich> Bangs and clatters rang against the door, but it did not give in to the mob's attacks. Razer was glad she had moved into the captain’s quarters, which had reinforced doors. Desperately, Fuschia called for anyone who would come to her aid, first through the door, then the comms system. The mob laughed and jeered at her pleas. Who was she? They asked. Lieutenant to the dead captain, perhaps the one who had killed her. They demanded to see the one who had the most to gain from Vulture's death. Fuschia knew that giving in would mean her end. They would tear her apart before she even reached the airlock. Fuschia kept messaging everyone she thought might help her, but even her guards were scared of the wrath of the mob. Finally, someone responded. Not a guard, but a loyal crewmember all the same. [Player] was on their way. Razer watched anxiously as the pin on her tablet moved towards the mob and her room. She didn't know how one person could handle the mob, but they were her only hope, the door was noticeably strained. She listened intently as the dot arrived. The mob's yells changed. They quieted for a moment, then a new chorus of yells began. Razer heard them through the door. Traitor. Trying to save the traitor. Get the saboteur. “No, please, they're just trying to help,” Razer cried, but the mob wasn't listening. A vent popped open. Razer whipped around. Someone crawled out of the vent. They wore a mask. “How badly do you want to live?” “What? Who are you, how did you get in here?” Razer asked. It had gone eerily quiet outside. “We have our ways. But we need you alive. We had to sacrifice Iguana to get this opportunity with you.” “We? You're a saboteur!” The masked man chuckled. “There's so little you understand. This is so much bigger than one ship. But we don't have time for this. In a few moments, they'll realize Saffron Iguana is a Saboteur, and they'll only become more convinced that you're one of us. I'm your only way out of here alive,” the man said. He said it firmly, without emotion. It was simply how it was. Razer looked to the door, where the mob had resumed their attack, their shouts even louder. She looked back to the man. They had killed Vulture. And the only way she could make them pay for that was by going with this man. “Fine. But on one condition. You tell me who you are,” she demanded, trying to maintain some semblance of control. The man pulled off his mask. He was smirking. “They call me Capone. Tin Capone.” When the mob broke through the door, the room was empty, and their bloodlust only grew. *¤*.¸¸.·'¨»*«''»*«'¨'·.¸¸.*¤* Vote Count: Taupe Gecko (1): Salmon Meerkat Sunburst Toucan (4): Scarlet Octopus, Saffron Iguana, Quartz Zebra, Plum Rhinoceros Scarlet Octopus (4): Violet Axolotl, Sunburst Toucan, Sapphire Elephant, Indigo Weasel Saffron Iguana (6): Oxblood Beagle, Onyx Flamingo, Mint Heron, Melon Dingo, Magenta Albatross, Ivory Dragonfly Saffron Iguana was executed. Night 1: Apologize to Ironeyes <Callsign: Fuchsia Ostrich> Interim Captain Razor placed the ship under lock down. She confined all non-essential personnel to the Mess. Everything was a mess. The pirates were gaining, the engines were working again, but not at full capacity, and more and more sabotages appeared every hour. And there was the matter of Jochen. She would deal with that shortly. She picked up the Medallion she had… requisitioned. It was ostensibly a Mistborn Medallion, but either that was a clerical error, or something had broken when she dropped it. It was only letting her burn Iron at the moment, which was nearly useless to her. Pewter would be nice, Ruin, if she could burn Steel, she'd hunt down the saboteurs herself. She put the Medallion around her neck. Something was better than nothing. She went down the list. She queried the engineers for status reports on the engines and life support, checked the cameras personally and assigned two people to them at all times. She was going to catch the saboteurs. The most pressing matters dealt with, she called for that rusting Mouse. <Callsign: Azure Mouse> Jochen had already been pacing the mess when the order arrived, intermittently itching beneath his mask, much to the horror of the other southerners on the ship. It was chaos in there, there had practically been a riot before Razor confined them. Jochen held up his tablet to the guard at the door. The man grunted. “You're good, Mouse.” Jochen glared as he stalked off. Azure Mouse was his official callsign, but he had always hated the name. That was probably what had made it stick. He wasn't a mouse. No matter how much everyone said he twitched. He stood outside Captain Razor's door. Now her callsign made sense. She was the spitting image of an Ostrich, had fuchsia hair, and it was even the meaning of her name in Old Imperial. But he was getting distracted. He steeled himself and organized his thoughts. He lifted his hand to knock on the door—”Come in,” Captain Razor said before his hand even touched the door. The blood drained from Jochen’s face beneath his mask. How long had she been watching him? He opened the door. “Where's my Medallions?” Her voice was harsh, her face harsher. Jochen winced. “I, uh, I sent you a briefing,” he fidgeted, avoiding her eyes despite his mask. “Do you think I have time? The TYRIAN is falling apart and pirates are on our tail. We need those Medallions.” Her glare made Jochen look at his feet. “The stores were raided. All of the Medallions were taken, presumably by the crew. I must have somehow not locked the stores, the door was unlocked.” Jochen braced himself for further berating, but Razor didn’t speak. He looked up. Her eyes were wide and her face pale. She quickly masked her expression. “Very well. I’m tasking you with recovering the Medallions,” she said as if it wasn’t an impossible task. “You’re what?! I can’t possibly—” she cut him off. “You will do as ordered or be court martialed. Dismissed.” <Callsign: Sage Kangaroo> The mob had cornered Isabel into the airlock. Desperately, they tried to bargain, but the mob wouldn’t listen to their pleas. But then, the mob parted. “Captain’s orders, captain’s orders,” yelled a squeaky voice. The quartermaster walked through the momentarily quiet crowd. “Please, get me out of here,” Isabel pleaded. “That can be arranged. All I need is the Medallion that you stole,” Jochen stated forcefully. It was the most confident Isabel had ever seen him. “I didn't—” Isabel began. “Then I suppose I'll just have to let them deal with you…” “Alright, alright, just get me out of here,” they pulled out the Medallion. Jochen motioned for a guard to shove away the ringleader who stood by the airlock controls. He opened the door and let Isabel step out. He took the Medallion from Isabel’s hands, but that was as far as he got. Someone from among the mob punched him through his mask. It had the strength of Pewter behind it. He looked up just in time to see Isabel ramming a Spike through her eye. He could barely make out her words through the ringing in his ears, but it sounded like she was apologizing to someone named Ironeyes. ~ Sage Kangaroo was executed. They were a Saboteur Seeker! Day 1: The Regards of the Raiders of Ruin <Callsign: Amber Vulture> Hundreds of years since Scadrians first set boat to ocean, and pirates still flew that same symbol. What had once adorned a black flag was now painted across the side of the ship. Captain Amber set down the Tin Medallion. “I hate to burn through our stores this quickly, but we'll have to outrun them. Their engines are probably two, three decades out of date. Tell the engineer to get on it, Fuschia Ostrich,” the captain said, still staring out the window, even though she couldn't see anything without the Tinmind. “Aye aye captain,” Lieutenant Razor replied before walking away, every step crisp with military precision. The captain tapped on the Awakened wall display, moving her earlier order, placed when the pirates had seemed unlikely to catch up, to the highest urgency. Nothing wrong with being prepared. A coin bounced off the floor, rolling a few feet. Captain Amber, who had not received the moniker of Vulture unearned, grabbed her spare f-gold Medallion. She prepared to tap it as she picked up the coin. It wasn't a grenade as she had feared when she first heard it hit the floor. It was inscribed, “For Vulture and Ostrich - the Raiders of Ruin send their regards.” The Old Vulture, a veteran of the war with Roshar, tapped the gold. There was enough stored within to survive an ettmetal blast. It had been drained. The blood in Captain Amber's face followed suit. A crack spread along the viewport glass. That was Aon-reinforced, it shouldn't— it shattered. Amber frantically clawed for anything, but she was pulled inexorably by the vacuum of space. Captain to the last, her dying thought was of her ship. At least Fuschia Ostrich survived. She would make a good captain in these trying times. <Callsign: Fuschia Ostrich> Closing the door with practiced precision, Razor looked left and right down the hall. Seeing no one, she slumped against the wall. Fuschia lost all of her customary decorum, every breath ragged. Her hands shook as she pulled out her Awakened communicator. Her non regulation Awakened communicator. The skyeel race would be over by now. For nearly fifteen minutes, fifteen minutes where her duties had prevented her from checking the results. Fifteen minutes where her career hung in the balance. “Results,” she said, voice shaking. The screen turned on. The covert device had no voice. Fuschia scanned the screen as quickly as she could. “No, no, no, how? This isn't possible.” She had lost again. She would need to sell another Medallion at the next port. That should be enough to satisfy her creditors. For now. Quartermaster Jochen, called Azure Mouse for his blue mask and twitchy demeanor, was sure to notice eventually. He might even have a trap ready for the thief. Or he was planning one. It would be best to get the Medallion quickly, so it would be lost in the panic of the pirate chase. The stores were on the way to the engines. Footsteps sounded coming down the hall. Razor straightened, her military demeanor instantly regained and her contraband hidden. She dismissed the salute, so distracted she barely even noticed the subordinate, and continued down the hall. The Lieutenant strode down the ships’ hallways, her long legs speeding her along. Her Rosharan half had caused her a lot of trouble in life, but speed wasn't one of its negatives. Fuschia arrived at the Medallion storeroom. She overrode the security with her high clearance and, with the same practiced motions, used that same clearance to erase all signs of her stop. She grabbed a few choice Medallions. As Fuschia picked up the last, the ship shook unexpectedly. The Medallion clattered against the ground, dropped out of her hand. She scowled. It better not be— it rattled oddly as she picked it up. Storming rust. And a full Mistborn Medallion too. That shaking couldn't be good. She hurried out of the storeroom to the engine, slamming the door behind her. It didn’t lock, which, when news of the pirate ship leaked, was all the crew needed to break in and raid the Medallion stores. The room was cleared out in minutes. <Callsign: Azure Mouse> Jochen’s mask itched. That was never a good sign. The requisition order from Captain Amber on his Awakened tablet only increased his anxiety. All the Mistborn Medallions, all the Steel and Pewter too… it was a battle order. Why did his mask itch so bad? He had tried that new powder Hylda had recommended. The tablet chirped. “What now?” He asked. “Previous order marked ‘Immediate’!” chimed the tablets irritatingly high-pitched, chipper voice. Only upper staff had the permissions to mark orders. “Sovereign's rusted eye,” Jochen cursed. He ran to the Medallion stores, his urgency pushing his itching mask out of his mind. The old Vulture would be mad enough that the order hadn't been filled the moment it was placed, but now that it had been marked Immediate? Jochen quickly typed in the code for the stores, but he didn't hear the lock click open. That was odd. Had he forgotten to lock it? The captain would be furious about that. He pulled the door open. The room was empty. Jochen fell to his knees. His stores had been raided. He held his head in his hands. The captain was going to kill him. His grandmother had always claimed that an itchy mask meant trouble was on the horizon, and his mask itched. The tablet chimed again. “New requisition order from Interim Captain Razor, callsign Fuschia Ostrich!” Well, that was the Captain Amber Vulture dealt with, but Jochen’s still itching mask told him the trouble had yet to pass. ~ Amber Vulture has been killed! AG12/AN16: TYRIAN Falling The SS TYRIAN, with its mandate of Explore, Expand, Exploit, and Exterminate, is on its way home to Scadrial from its maiden voyage. It has seen many worlds, fought many foes, and learned many secrets. The Crew of the SS TYRIAN is no longer only Scadrians. Their numbers have diminished over the years, but they have recruited new members from the populations of the worlds they have visited. From Roshar to Lumar, people with a lust for adventure, travel, and power have joined up. Unfortunately for the TYRIAN, some of these people had ulterior motives for joining the crew, motives that never would have been considered until an unmarked ship appeared at the edge of the TYRIAN's scanners. One of the Koloss crewed pirate ships normally wouldn't have been a concern for the SS TYRIAN, but as the crew began to fire up the military grade, zephyr-powered engines that would have carried them swiftly away, the engines failed. A quick investigation revealed that it could only have been sabotage. The crew must uncover the saboteurs before they slow the ship down enough for the Koloss-blooded pirates to catch up. When TYRIAN falls, Scadrial will see it is not the ruler of space it assumes it is. »>»>»>»↠ ≈☆≈ ↞«<«<«<« Welcome to Anniversary Game 12! @The Unknown Ookla (soon to change to "The Unknown [blank]") and @A Jo in the Bush will be your GM’s, with the artistic @little wilson as our Impartial Moderator. I switch my name so much I don't particularly care, but since The Unknown Order (TUO) is one of my more common names, it just made sense to stay TUO for Ookla. You did better than I did. Like I said in the Elim doc, I've been kinda slacking these last few games, but my grand return will come. Just you wait. Thanks for the game and excellent rules @DrakeMarshall! Great job IHAT, that was a standout performance from you.

The train on me was late in the day, and I have wrestling practice before rollover most days, so I only get on right before on those days. -

So, you guys are committed to no flip today? Cause I'll tell you where we're at. It's 4/3. If we exe a villager, we lose. If we exe an elim, we need to keep exing an elim every cycle or we lose. If we hit me, we have a fifty/fifty tomorrow, if we even find the right target. The elims also almost certainly have a Mistborn. And if they roll CS, thug, or VM (and we miss a smoke) they win. If you exe me, you're giving them an extra cycle to roll one of those. Are you so much more sus of me than you are someone else that you'll hang the game on it? @Ookla the Wallfacer @Ookla the Broken @Divergent @Alvron @Stick. @Honors Ghost -

You mean when I voted Stick tying her for the exe and could have saved her by unvoting? I've noticed this occurrence with me too. When you're always a little bit sus, elims tend to turn to you before villagers do.
