  1. This seems to be skipping over the train on TOW entirely, which was at least a third of my reasoning for voting Akimiko. It seems weird that you also would think everyone's going after Akimiko for tone when I think we've been pretty clear it's about more than that while Akimiko keeps dragging back to that being the only point I'm really conflicted here, because Akimiko still isn't really engaging. There's no way to tell if Akimiko is really being this gloomy, in which case I feel really bad about exing them, or if they're playing genuine emotion up to survive In the end, until further notice, my vote is staying because Akimiko's flip either way will be very useful
  2. ^ Same, there's two hours left and I'm fully willing to switch if convinced
  3. The extra votes are worrying me. Still confident enough that Akimiko is e, but I don't trust a lot of the late additions whichever way she flips
  4. But why not say this earlier? Why not open with this? Every time I've changed my playstyle, I've pretty explicitly mentored it. Also, why does an aggressive play style involve requiring a consensus train on d1, when information about vote movements is most useful, and why is doing otherwise letting the elims win? Like, I believe that you were trying a new playstyle and I don't have a problem with it, there's more reason to think you're an elim than just tone
  5. That was my first guess too, but, one, this is the time to break character or hint while within character (straight up no reason to not do the latter), and also the character doesn't seem like the one the signup describes
  6. Like, what is this? This doesn't feel like how Akimiko was in previous games, furthermore, it's overdramatic and misrepresentative of my reasons. Might be confbias tunneling, but the feels like an elim digging a deeper and deeper hole with the Mist voters potentially being teammates trying to save Akimiko (more likely confbiasing on the second than the first imo)
  7. Ah I see, I thought you were taking about the first bit, that makes more sense
  8. Wth is Akimiko's tone here Why do you feel so weird??? Edit: Ninja’d, but that Wahr post does not make me like him or Akimiko any more at all
  9. >.> ~ I don't like the TOW train. Feels defensive of Wahr, not that I'm advocating returning to a newbie. I can see that Elim doc quite vividly though. "Wahr is getting votes" "They aren't defending themselves" "try the newbie defense" "it's not working well enough, start a counter train"
  10. What about offering to convert people to my cause? Or if they ask really really nicely?
  11. That order is completely nonsensical now that I think about it. Hmm Updated citation: DrakeMarshall, "QF78 - Cycle 1: Servants of a New Storm," SE, 17thshard.com, 31 January 2026 https://www.17thshard.com/forums/topic/201900-qf78-cycle-1-servants-of-a-new-storm/page/2/#findComment-2031387

  13. I approved these rules! Can't say I remember them in the slightest however I remember converts and an sk and that's about it. Also a spren I think
  14. Me and Jo will just run the AG again, same rules and only a slightly modified distro
  15. This would be after the QF, which signups haven't even been posted for yet. So a decent bit into February
  16. See, I'm the other way around. I like Ender a lot more, I find him more relatable and his self doubt is much less obnoxious than Bean's superiority complex
  17. Read Ender's Game on a whim and that spiraled off into a reread of Speaker for the Dead and a first time listen of Ender's Shadow. Rereading SftD really makes me feel stupid for not figuring out the twist earlier. I also, in the time between when I last read this book and now, have become much more proficient at Portuguese, which very much improves the experience. I've been groaning at my old pronunciations and skipping the sidebar translations this time around, and it's a cool marker of how much better I've gotten. I'm not done with Ender's Shadow yet, but I don't think my opinion will change much. It's a good book, but not on the level of EG or SftD. I just really don’t like urchin sequences (I skim Trebon in my NotW rereads), and though I got through it this time, the books been pretty average otherwise. I was on the edge of my seat when we learned about Bean's history though.
  18. It's boring when you undershoot, make your guesses believable
  19. It's been a while, but the main character of DF was a huge step up as far as I recall, and there were a couple others I think
  20. If you haven't continued yet, I think the characters get better in the next one, though I haven't worked up the mental power to read the third yet I would agree on weird though. I've read literal villain characters who I disagreed with less than the conclusions the books come to
