The Unknown Character

The rules were me, inspired by LG92 with the Pseudogame rules pulled from Tyrian and various Shard games. GM thoughts: I hope everyone enjoys the Shardworld docs, particularly Scadrial Cycle Three. I use Docs as my notes app, so it wasn't doing good before, but it's hideous now My clipboard (the copy and paste memory thing) is finally usable again. I probably filled it up five times over copy and pasting from the Prewriting doc to the Shard. *The charred remnants of the 17th Shard It's not looking so good I fear I look forward to seeing your thoughts. As the Unknown Deity said, I'm very happy with how the game went rules wise. LG112 - Aftermath: At What Cost? (Writeup contains spoilers for the outcome) ~ Divergent has been killed! They were a Vanilla SE Player. But we all knew that. Now for the main event. Hoid Slayer(man) has been executed! At the start of the game, Hoid was an SE Player PseudoGM. At the end of the game… Hoid was an SE Player PseudoGM. The Roleplay Characters have emerged victorious! Free at last to live out their lives in peace. Congratulations to @xinoehp512, @Qianweilian, @coco.pudding, @Verdance, and finally, swooping in at the end to save them all, @Araris Valerian! Thank you to @Through the living Wahr for being an amazing co-GM. He more than pulled his weight. I wasn't planning on having a co-GM going into this, but I would have been in a bad spot without him. Thank you also to @Jo and the Bush for helping us whenever problems or mistakes arose. And thank you all of you, this was an amazing game to watch and it's probably my favorite (as much as I love LG105, I think this one surpassed it). You did so well with the rules, and I couldn't have hoped for a more dynamic game. Thanks especially to those of you who stuck it out the whole 30 days. See you all in the next one. Insane to be posting signups for a game while the fate of the Shard lies undecided I'll sign up to play. I have a very large wrestling tournament from the 7th on, so my activity could literally be the highest or lowest depending on a ton of factors

LG112 - Metacycle Nine: The RolePier Strikes Back Finally, they decided to ban their next suspect. They banned Star, and all hell broke loose. The Shard immediately shut down again, and even worse, they couldn't contact Striker any more. The Roleplay Characters were fighting back. ~ Striker has died! They were a SE Player Lurker. LG112 - Metacycle Eight: False Hope The Shard came back on. The mods rushed to ban their next suspect. Then, the Shard didn't go offline again. They kept waiting, expecting the site to go down, but it never did. Had they succeeded? Finally? They began investigating the last player they had banned. Their investigation revealed… Nothing. ~ Lettuce has been executed! They were a SE Player Lurker (kinda fitting, huh?) LG112 - Metacycle Seven: And Another One The Unknown Player examined the criteria the last Roleplay Character had given them. No one was a complete match. Some were close, but not close enough to risk it. “The Shard's back on.” Someone wrote. “I don't have a match,” the Unknown Player replied. “Time's running out.” Shoot. He had to make a choice. You are correct. The absence of the kill is irrelevant as to whether there was a conversion or not

LG112 - Metacycle Six: I'm Not Lagging, You're Lagging The Shard kept going offline. They'd get it running long enough to do a little investigating, then the Roleplay Characters would take it down again. Luckily, it seemed like the Roleplay Characters were frozen while the site was down. The mods decided to make a plan. “When the site next comes on, we need to just start banning like crazy.” “Who do we even ban? We only have so many shots, we can't waste them on real Sharders.” Everyone was silent, thinking. Then one person stepped forward. “We'll only do one shot. We'll hold a vote, whoever has the most votes, we ban.” Someone started a poll. Votes came in. “Everyone vote?” Everyone reacted with a thumbs up. The Unknown Character clicked reveal result. Coco.pudding He typed the command, and as soon as the site came online, he pasted it. /ban @coco.pudding ~ Coco was executed! LG112 - Metacycle Five: AfterPseudo The servers flickered. Every page refreshed in unison. The Unknown GM was back. When had that happened? The Anniversary Game was over. Already, every player felt a hole in their lives where that game had once been. But more importantly, they waited anxiously. They wanted to know if they had won. And more importantly, if SE had won. The Shard was still buffering. As every one of them clicked to go to the new post, it wouldn't load. Then, the page did load. But it was no longer an ordinary page. The back end code was revealed, templates and placeholders were all that was left. Then the templates and placeholders were replaced, not with the Shard that everyone was so used to, but with a single phrase. THE k01055 COME ~ The Unknown Player clicked refresh for what was probably the fiftieth time. Stupid internet. The page flashed. He saw the message, and dread filled him. The k01055 were coming. They had lost. The page loaded. He had won the Anniversary Game. But at what cost? ~ Star was killed by a Coinshot! They were an Elim Tineye. Lettuce was executed! They were an Elim Vanilla.
