So, if someone could use an anti Rhythm to push the investiture inside a hemalurgic spike to the back end (I think that's something anti-Rhythms do right? They push investiture away?), leaving the front uninvested, could they then fill the front part again, rinsing and repeating to continue filling the spike?

I would imagine that it's Adonalsium's pure essence. Which also sounds like what's happening with First of the Sun.

My guess as to who these "off worlders" are? Rosharans.

Just thought of this; could you use the same metalmind as the one you're tapping, just store in a different part of the same metal?

I actually had an idea recently (go figure, thought it would never happen); what if you could get ahold of some breaths, then give those breaths to someone else who was deathly sick, allowing them to heal from that sickness, but in return, they'd have to return them to you, plus their own breath once they'd been healed. It might not exactly be "fast", and you would have to be careful not to allow anyone to con you permanently out of your breath, but it might work.

In the cosmere, people can have innate investiture, which comes from the shard of their respective world. They also have a “spark of life”, which makes up their spiritweb, if I’m not mistaken. So, is it merely another piece of shardic investiture, but smaller? Or is it more unique, not being connected to any shard, perhaps a manifestation of investiture having its own Intent? If it is investiture that has its own Intent, does it have a Rhythm?

Both the Dakhor and the Elantrians are, if not straight up biologically immortal, at least very long lived. I know that they both have access to active forms of investiture (drawing aons and activating bone twists), but is the reason for their longevity due to them passively holding on to large portions of investiture, similar to the heightenings of bio-chromatic breath? If it were simply a constant influx of kinetic investiture, then they’d likely be in a similar position of the allomantic savants, which don’t have an increased lifespan, so I don’t see that being the case. What is your guys’ take on this?

Okay, so when a lightweaver makes an illusion, it can subsist on any surrounding stormlight. I was wondering, could an aon drawn by an elantrian subsist on the investiture within a metalmind? (My guess would be that a nicrosil mind with a blanked Identity would be the best bet for this to work.) If this is possible, you could create invested items that can have a variety of effects created by the Dor, but allow them to be carried and used far from Elantris itself. Although, it seems like a device of this sort, if even possible, may prove short lived, as a metalmind can only hold so much investiture, and an aon needs to constantly burn more investiture to exist, or else it will fizzle out (also much like a lightweaving, actually). A new aon would need to be drawn in order to replace the old one, making this technique rather impractical if one wanted to create magical items for others to use, and impractical for elantrians themselves, as they could simply draw an aon any time they pleased so long as they have a valid power source.

Steel Inquisitors better bad guys than Fused?
Trusk'our replied to Trusk'our's question in Cosmere Q&A
I suppose that's true, and the Fused do seem to fit a more humane roll than the Inquisitors, but I still think that the Inquisitors make more compelling villains, at least in their own story. By the way, Welcome to the 17th Shard! -
I meant unsealed, like if a non feruchemist wanted to gain access to a form of investiture, and they had a full feruchemist friend who stored a few attributes in a specially made unsealed metalmind for their buddy's use. The non feruchemist then would transfer the attributes from the unsealed metalmind to another piece of metal that contained all the valid metals required to store those attributes, but without blanking his Identity whilst doing so. Sorry about taking so long to respond, I should keep track of my posts more

Could you just put the leaky metalmind in an aluminum sheath like Nightblood, then draw it when you needed to tap it? Or maybe coat most of the metalmind with aluminum, but leave a small section uncovered. It would still leak, but it should be slower.
-
If I'm not mistaken, Marasi tapped multiple metals when she figured out what the Bands were, so I'd imagine that she might have been using some other attribute to enhance herself as well, but I could be wrong. It might also have just been the sheer amount of investiture that was imparted to her at that time that kept her safe.

If someone wanted to invest themselves permanently to receive heightening-like affects, what are all the ways that they could go about doing this? I know that bio-chromatic breaths will do this, nicrocil hemalurgy might be able to do it, and that being a surgebinder gives you a little bit as well, but are there any other ways to go about doing this?
-
It seems that everyone in the mistborn books who knows of hemalurgy thinks it to be evil. I disagree. Now, please don't take this the wrong way; I believe that hemalurgy, due to its nature of needing to take power from someone's spiritweb in order to fuel itself, definitely is more likely to be used for selfish or evil purposes by people who care little for the suffering of others. I also think that it could be more easily abused, since anyone with the right knowledge can use to steal power from someone else. However, there are those in the cosmere who have lots of power, and this power make them able to bully and cause harm to others with little to no repercussion, except at great cost to those who try to stop them (Miles Hundred Lives, The Lord Ruler, The Fused, even certain radiants like most of the Skybreakers). Hemalurgy can stop these pseudo-immortal individuals, allowing a normal person to take Individuals with powerful manifestations of investiture would need to obey certain laws that prevent them from abusing and bullying others, and if they break those laws, then perhaps specially trained hemalurgists could carefully remove their powers without killing them. There could also be trusted people who are given access to hemalurgiclly charged spikes, allowing someone who is trustworthy to hold great power for the benefit for others in society, such as a gold compounder who can feruchemically store Identity and Investiture, then give unsealed goldminds to sick and wounded individuals who are in need of healing. Hemalurgy is a powerful, potentially very dangerous tool if kept unchecked and kept hidden away in the shadows, but as with any tool, it can be used for great good or terrible evil. So, this is my opinion, and I understand that it is a bit optimistic of me to think this way, but I think that it would potentially work. What are your thoughts on this?

A koloss will continue to grow until they die from heart failure, but if there were koloss on Roshar (or any planet with less gravity) could they potentially grow even bigger? Could a koloss made from an iron ferring, or one that has somehow else gained access to iron feruchemy, use that ability to take much less stress on their body from gravity, thus allowing them to live longer and get bigger?
-
You actually bring up a pretty good point in that plate armor should keep a person safe enough from normal attacks that they have the opportunity to attack with a shardblade, which would bypass other normal armor. I suppose I was just thinking of shardplate and how awesome it is, and completely forgot that regular non-invested armor can still be very useful.
-
So, it has been mentioned in The Way of Kings that a shardblade is worth entire kingdoms. Now, I know that a shardeblade is quite dangerous compared to a normal sword, but, does it really provide such an overwhelming advantage on it's own? They're long, giving a reach advantage over most enemies, they can't be broken, stolen, or lost, and they can cut through almost anything as if passing through water. However, a shardblade alone would not be enough to stop a few well trained individuals surrounding you, or a well placed arrow or bullet, or save you from a poisoned drink. Shardplate, despite being less invested (we can assume this because Sanderson said that it would be slightly more difficult to push on a shardblade than shardplate as a coinshot), is a different story altogether, but that's not what this post is about. The amount of investiture held within a shardblade is tremendous, but it seems to me that it accomplishes less than other lesser sources of investiture, such as the Bands of Mourning. What are your guys' thoughts on this?
-
That would also make sense. But as I recall, Sanderson said that Vasher was glad that the larkin were all but extinct because they'd kill him. So could they feed on his breaths?
-
So, if you were to awaken a kandra's body, would it still be able to shape shift, or would it be locked into it's current form?
-
Now, I do want to mention that the Rhythms are amplified on Roshar, but they are a cosmere wide thing, so I don't think that using them would bind you to Roshar unless you are specifically using some sort of Investiture directly Connected to there.

That's actually a pretty fair point.
-
Could they eat part of it? Also, if they theoretically could, then could the shard-blade regrow itself with stormlight?
-
So, we know that a leecher can prevent a shardblade from being summoned by a shard bearer, but could a larkin eat a piece of a shard blade as it’s being summoned? I can't remember the exact quote, but I'm pretty sure that bio chromatic breath can be eaten by a larkin as it’s being used to awaken, since it’s being temporarily converted to kinetic investiture, and when a shardblade is summoned it seems to need to temporarily count as kinetic investiture because a seeker can sense it while being summoned.

In Row, we’ve seen that investiture’s ‘rhythm’ can be changed by isolating it from it’s original source, then exposing it to another rhythm with a different intent. We’ve also seen that an individual can have a unique rhythm (i.e. Raboniel). If someone could somehow gain access to the Rhythms, then figure out how to create a unique rhythm of their own, with it’s own Intent, could they reprogram the Intent of a piece investiture? If this could be accomplished, I can see three possible benefits: 1. You wouldn’t have an enhanced Connection to the investiture’s original Shard as would otherwise have, since the new Intent of the investiture you’re using is not the same as that Shard’s Intent. This would probably make it harder for a Shard to manipulate or detect you directly. 2. It would be very, very difficult to weaponize anti-investiture against you since the Intent of the investiture you’re using is supposed to be unique. 3. You would most likely not be bound to any world in particular as most highly invested entities are, as your investiture does not have a Connection to any world or Shard. In addition, if you use this new investiture, and then it returns to the spiritual realm, would it then start to accumulate, possibly (though not likely, considering the amount that you’d need) create a new magic system, similar to Patji on First of the Sun? So, does this all sound possible, or am I assuming too much here?
