    "Oh heck no." I say, holding onto the ladder for dear life. "I haven't survived this long by being an idiot. I'm not going near whatever the heck that thing is." I look around trying to see if there is anything I missed in the room.

    "A serial killer is a crazy person that enjoys killing their carefully chosen victims. Often, they do it in twisted, painful ways." I shudder, pulling out a torch so that I could attempt to light it.

    Marcella finally caught up, a bit out of breath. She seemed extremely determined. And also a bit pissed off.

    "...I don't think that's a rat. Do you think the innkeeper is a serial killer? I've heard stories about serial killers during my travels, and this seems pretty serial killer-y." I say, beginning to ramble nervously.

    Crap. I don't like being dead. That's annoying. As I am now very, very dead, I would like to confirm that I am, indeed, a villager. Anyway, if I was trolled, Steeldancer is village. If not, Steeldancer is an elim. Also, I'm flipping off whoever killed me. (Just kidding. I'm not mad.)

    Fair points, however: "If someone were to troll me, you would not receive an opposing result." As someone who had temporarily gained the troll role, I know that if you are trolled, you will be told. "We don't know if anyone has any false-read-proof roles. I'm somewhat worried that my own Confirmed Villager role acts as an anti-smoker role of sorts, which is why I was trying to commission a rolescanner. Similar to the first issue, this is one we'd have to take into account regardless." I mean, sure, but I doubt that's going to be an issue. And it's just as likely that a eliminator troll might troll me, and I won't know. "The most pressing: we never discovered if a trolled rolescan gives the exact opposite result - just that it gives an incorrect one. With several neutral roles in this game, it's possible that a Villager might not appear as an Elim if your ability was trolled." The way the role was worded kinda makes me doubt the existence of neutrals.

    If I know I've been trolled, I know that the read I have is the opposite of what it says. So, if you troll me, I'll know that I have been trolled.
