  1. "Oh. That makes sense." She sounded a bit disappointed. She kept looking, but couldn't find it.
  2. "I understand." she said with a wince. And it shouldn't be me. I don't want to ruin your life the way I ruined May's.
  3. Rawiya, or Cora as the locals knew her, was sitting on a bench reading a book.
  4. "I am? What's the point of a secret room if it's not hard to find?" She was, once again, confused.
  5. "Wait for me!" She followed after her, trying to make sure the books didn't hit the ground.
  6. "Okay!" She ran through the room, pushing things, pulling things, looking at things, and grinning like a madman.
  7. She shrugged. "It happened about 8 years ago. I've gotten to the point where I can live with myself. We've got to get you to the point where you don't feel overwhelming guilt. Accidents happen." She snorted. "And, if I'm being honest with you, sometimes they aren't accidents. But you have to get over it eventually. If you don't, the guilt will rip you apart."
  8. "Yay!" Her eyes flicked quickly through the room.
  9. "Can we explore the secret rooms now?" She was very excited.
  10. "Okay. You can share with him. Gracie, you and I should share a room as well. When we find the others, we may have to re-adjust." She opened the door to room 5, and walked in.
  11. Camelia was somehow able to walk without bumping into anything. She had about 20 books, and they were stacked in front of her face. "How would I know?"
  12. Okay! Thanks! I'll be back in the morning, and I'll vote then.
  13. Do we know how many Elims there are? Yes? No? Maybe? Does anyone have a good guess?
  14. She grimaced. "Ah. So we're more alike then I thought." She whispered. She shook her head. "My actions killed my parents. If it wasn't for me, they'd be alive." She looked at Janice. "You aren't alone." She then grinned. " My offer from earlier still stands." She turned to Trace. "And I'm extending it to you, too."
  15. "What's her aspect?" She said softly.
  16. "Hi!" She waved.
  17. "Where you want to be able to get close to people, but as soon as you do, you end up hurting them. Either physically or mentally. So you decide it's best to push them away. To hide your pain. To hide your emotions. To become bitter with the world. When the emotions finally come out, they make you hurt others. They make you want to hurt others. At least then you won't have to think about your pain." She said it miserably.
  18. She followed, and started doing the hopping thing again. She was able to do it pretty darn quickly.
  19. Shade's heart broke when she saw Janice's pain. "You know, I was once in a similar situation. That specific situation, which I'm not going to talk about in detail, is what led me to become a bounty hunter. I was young too. I think I was... What? 12? Yeah. I think I was 12 when I turned in my first bounty. I felt like I had to push everyone I cared about away. I told them things that weren't actually true. I told them that I didn't care about them. At night, I'd hide under my covers and sob uncontrollably for hours and hours on end. I can empathize with you. If you need, you can talk to me."
  20. "Sure!" She started whistling again.
  21. She grinned, her eyes sparkling. "There are secret rooms?!" She said enthusiastically. "That's awesome!"
  22. Shade followed, and made it obvious through her body language that they should be left alone. People avoided her, as always.
  23. Ahhhhh! This is amazing! "I'm Veila." She hid her giddiness.
  24. "Uh... Okay. I'll just grab my bag." She didn't bother using the front door, but climbed up to the window, and slid in. A moment later, she had safely landed on the ground with her stuff.
  25. "I've never really interacted with people my age for very long at all. Actually, I don't typically interact with people in general."
