He let out an exasperated sigh. “Yes, I do.” Highness glanced towards Ellis. “For instance, your soul has a bright outside. It’s your kindness and… oh, your love for her. Although, it looks like you’re confused about why she deemed you worthy to love, but her soul is black as a crow’s feathers. On the inside… hmm, untapped potential and memories. Perhaps suppressed, maybe even walled up by you or something or thing else. Either way, that part of your soul is something you like to call the Dark Lord or, in simpler terms, the ‘bad guy’ within you. You’re confused by it, wondering if you actually want to know what’s hidden in there, but another part of you just wants to live as is, loving who you want, and learning in the way you plan on. You know that part is of you is as much it is as your hands are attached to your wrists, but… hmm, confusion. You are conflicted, either way.”

"Call me that again and you'll feel worse than what I'm going to put her through." His eyes fell on Y, and he rested a hand on the hilt of his blade. Highness let out a breath, relaxing as he cocked his head at her. "Strange," he muttered to himself. "Different than most."

"I'm not stupid. I know who you're talking about, but I don't see her."

"I'm sorry," he said, glancing at Ellis, "but I don't see the person you want me to attack."

"After you," Highness said, gesturing in the direction Ellis'd been looking in.

“I actually need to talk with Q. A moment before I leave, then you’re free to be a couple.”

“Excuse you. You’re the one making all the plans. You’re the one getting riled up when I mention her and my relation to her. I am merely making comments and answering your questions.” Highness looked at Ellis, his expression blank considering how tight he was gripping his hilt. “If anyone to complain about what’s happening, it would be me, but I frankly don’t have the time or energy to devote to this pointless argument. I am following you, since you have more knowledge about what’s going on than I do.”

“You’ll understand, Ellis. One day you will, but today is not that day.” “When I see them next,” he said, looking towards her, “I’ll put in a word for you.”

“Yes, but it still hurts when someone else says it, hmm?”

“It’s called sizing up your target and saving your energy, sweetie. I can’t waste all my energy on someone that might be either weaker or stronger than I am, because that will not end well for me on either end.” Highness gave him a glance. “Not that bright when it comes to fighting, aren’t you? I can’t see why the Angel sees any interest in you.”

“All she can do is blow wind hard and have a bunch of knives that she somehow knows how to use. Now that you have me, you don’t have much to worry about.” “Oh, that’s not for me to decide,” he said with a knowing smirk. “You would have to ask my Siblings about that.”

“And how exactly are you going to get the crystal? Let’s not factor in trying to get her and Gerald back.”

"It was just fine for your lover," he said, narrowing his eyes. "Yes, Melody. I am aware of you. The one with so much potential, yet doesn't do anything with it." "A plan that involves rescuing her with this... 'Dream Crystal.'"

“‘Dream Crystal?’” he repeated, raising his eyebrow. “No accounting for creativity.” “I’m known by many names, some more true than others. The name you’ll address me is His Highness, although, Highness is just fine.”

“Yes, tragic. Didn’t save him in time.” The man shook his head. “Anyways, what amulet are you looking for?”

“Mmm, yes. Saving her is a priority. Wasn’t there someone else? A squid named Gerald, or something?”

Nice! I started with WoK, but I liked Warbreaker the most. It was a story that stood out to me the most lol.
