  1. Initially, I thought the same as @Bejardin1250, but I'm not sure anymore. Honestly, based on what I remember of Vargo's emotional days, he was an empathetic and compassionate man, in a soft way iykwim. Though Odium has been associated with passion in-text, I don't really see any connection between his increased emotional capacity and the emotional fury of the Shard. I think that this definitely shows in the quote that @Honorless added. He's very internally conflicted. In the coppermind, we have this quote: So maybe Cultivation was attempting to forge a Connection between Taravangian and Odium? If so, I'm kinda skeptical of whether or not it worked. Odium and emotion: I don't think that lines up well with Taravangian and his experiences. Another take is the Cultivation-is-evil route, and honestly I think that makes the most sense to me as of now? Idk where but there's the pretty infamous quote about odium being most dangerous in the hands of someone smart and scheming, like Taravangian... Cultivation has to have known that. Man, I need to reread that whole section. Anyways, back to the main question, (if a shard has power over an individual, and that individual ascends, does that influence remain?) if, after ascension, Taravangian is still affected by Cultivation, would that give Cultivation power over Odium? I can see that as a motive for what she did.
  2. Gonna keep it simple. Does Vargo still have his boon and bane as a vessel? Will he have smart days and dumb days? Days void of passion, and days of pure passion?
  3. I made one of those ace attorney things for wit's tirade. idk how to get it to embed but you can either download it or view it with this link: https://objection.lol/objection/1199325 and yes, i should have been doing my hw instead oops objection-1199325.mp4
  4. Did the people of Scadrial know about all of the main 16 metals before the Lord Ruler came to power?
  5. What a wonderful depiction of a ruby broam
  6. You could do a sphere with stormlight in it, or a Pattern. I think the ones you've made so far are really cool!
  7. Granted, but it's banned in your country for excessive song and dance sequences. I wish for a delicious chicken caesar salad that i can eat right now!
  8. @Nathrangking Ok, thank you! I had not heard about that potential release, so that's good to know. @Jozomby So far, I'm feeling about the same. It's very obviously an early Sanderson novel to me, and doesn't have the same "magic" as his published works. I have not read WoK prime, but if I end up liking Dragaonsteel maybe I will
  9. After six months on the wait list, I was lucky and got Brandon's honor thesis Dragonsteel from the BYU library. I've read about four chapters so far, but I thought I would check with the shard- are there any major spoilers in this book? I've read through almost all published works, but if Dragonsteel is going to spoil future books or cosmere secrets, I'm not sure I want to read it. In addition to that, is it necessarily good? I know that some aspects of the book were lifted and added to other books (Bride 4 and tWoK). Any opinions would be appreciated
  10. I looked for a thread of this already and couldn't find one crazy! My brother started the Way of Kings the first week of January and he's already on RoW (what the heck - -;) and he texted me this one today: "If Szeth was a surgeon instead of Kaladin, he would use a Szethescope." Love that kid.
  11. I can't give anymore rep points today lol, but I think you're on to something!
  12. Lirin and the Nightmother... yikes lol I think that at the very least it's likely that Brandon wrote it this way on purpose, in order to show parallels between Dalinar and Lirin. Both are father figures to Kaladin, and there are other minor similarities. However, though Dalinar and Lirin both protect others and seek an end to the war, they have different personal morals. I really enjoy the contrast, and I think it also shows that Lirin truly is a good man with good intentions.
  13. I don't know much about Sleepless, but they have "bodies" made of cremlings as well, right? Purple blood.
  14. @AquaRegia couldn't have said it better. They're all great!

      Sorry for disappearing.

  16. Why thank you! I would say either Devotion or Cultivation.
  17. Ideas with "H": Keeper/Knowledge of Hallowed Truth, Hymns of Wisdom/Woe I'm a fan of KoWT, but I'm not opposed to tossing some H in there. Like @Jofwu said, it's a nice nod to in-world ketek symmetry More ideas for K: Kharbranth, Ketek More ideas for T: Taravangian,
  18. The chull (the Windrunner) flew through the Hoid to showcase yet another sentient spren
  19. @Scarletfox I haven't gotten around to Next Generation yet, so we'll see XD @AquaRegia Thank you! Who is your favorite character from Mistborn E2? @Honorless, @The Windrunner Supreme Thank you both for the warm welcome!
  20. @Scarletfox I really liked the original TV series, and I also like the new trilogy :) @Not an Ookla I get the double post thing now :) and you sound like you have great taste!
  21. @Bearer of all agonies I'm starting my first full reread, and honestly it might be Way of Kings! (but Oathbringer had some absolutely stellar moments too... it's so hard to choose ) Any moment with Kaladin and Dalinar has a special place in my heart. WBU?
  22. Thanks!! I'll go check out that forum. I'm so sorry, thinking about it knocked me back a few years too lol.... i might be down
  23. I'm new here too I'm around the same place as you when it comes to what I have and haven't read.
  24. I've read almost all cosmere novels, my friend on the swim team introduced me in November 2019. Stormlight is my fav, followed by mistborn era 2. I liked the white sand graphic novels as well (I've heard that's controversial?). I've stalked the coppermind and read many a WOB on here, but decided to make an account post-Rhythm of War. Some info on me: I havent been part of an internet community for 5+ years (back when I roleplayed Warrior Cats lol). I play the flute and I swam competitively until recently. I'm also a fan of star wars (go mando!), most books with dragons in them, and star trek (but I'm uncultured there lol). I like to write and rollerblade... IDK what else to say but feel free to ask anything! I just want to engage with other people who like Brandon Sanderson books, because I don't have anyone to talk to it about in person lol. Also I would appreciate any info you can give me on the practices, procedures, and culture of the site!
