  1. Well, let me quote a response from Elkanah himself in LG15. Then onto his explanation for his behavior that I said gave elim vibes. Huh? This doesn't really seem like a good explanation for his post where he was trying to find something alignment indicative to prove himself. It doesn't look like trying to get the spotlight. And even if so, how does getting the spotlight and then hoping not to get killed even look like a decent plan for trying to make yourself less hindered later for gaining info? I don't think it would necessarily give that benefit, and the risk isn't worth it. Keeping my vote here.
  2. Okay, I find this highly suspicious. Elims tend to care a lot about their image. I'm not sure how things are done on this site, but saying something like this on FoL would immediately get you read as elim. Villagers should be working on solving and finding elims. That shows their alignment. /vote Elkanah I hope no one takes him up on this offer.
  3. Yes, that's an additional point but doesn't really contradict the gist of what I'm saying. The HI will try to get themselves killed by villagers if all villager Hemalurgists are dead. The elims, who automatically know the HI at that point, will also work on pushing to kill the HI. Though they will probably be careful about this because once the HI flips, everyone on the wagon will look suspicious.
  4. Right. If all the villager Hemalurgists die, the HI in effect becomes a jester-type figure who tries to get themselves killed. So they will intentionally act suspicious and it will become tough for us to kill elims without accidentally killing the HI. The elims can't kill the HI themselves. Only villagers can kill the HI after the villager Hemalurgists are gone. EDIT: I'm quoting the two parts about the HI so that everyone can read these again and hopefully get a better understanding of the situation.
  5. No, the elims can't kill the HI. They can only start to work with the HI and improve it, but they can't kill it.
  6. Actually we should while the village Hemalurgists are alive. The HI can't be killed during this time, so if we find out now, we can avoid killing the HI later if the village Hemalurgists are all gone. I think a couple others are saying the same thing, while some people are still confused, so I just wanted to help clarify this as well. EDIT: Though finding elims is really the main push. Finding HI is probably still a secondary goal and would just be a nice bonus if we could.
  7. Oh, and if you further choose "Posts" on the left instead of "All Activity", it does present the full posts in a nice manner to cycle through. This will work nicely. Thanks!
  8. Ahhh, that's disappointing to know since that's a key feature in solving. But I will probably research the search filters and see if there is a way to make it work. Thanks!
  9. Ahh okay, this is good to know. I know there are sometimes people like this who look down on their own ability to help. But good to know that he'll do the important stuff at least. And this is certainly better than the people who are so overconfident in their abilities and insist that they are always right.
  10. How do I do an ISO for someone? I can view a person's activity and see their posts, but I can't find a way to only see the posts for that person from this single thread.
  11. Ahh okay, thanks for the explanation. That's trying to agree with a lot of things someone says in an attempt to get them to think you are on their side. So like when an elim agrees with things a villager says to try to make that villager think they are also a villager.
  12. You are really too paranoid about getting pocketed. This actually gives me an elim-vibe. But it appears that you are new to SE if not to Forum Mafia in general. If you are village, just do your best to give your opinion on things so that people can read you and see your thinking process.
  13. Yeah, exactly. I don't know why people make those votes and then specifically state that's what it's for. It takes away the whole push behind it. BTW, are votes done by putting the person's name in red? How can the HI also be Hemalurgist? Don't all the Hemalurgist need to die before the HI can die? If the HI was also Hemlurgist, it would then be immortal, wouldn't it? Or is it just that the HI doesn't count among the Hemalurgist for that specific case?
  14. These votes in the beginning. Voting someone to get them more active, or to see how they react. Unlike voting because you think that they're actually an Elim. Ahhh, I figured that's what poke votes were. We call this RVS (Random Vote Stage) at FoL. Haha, Illwei, now I have to pick up on your terms here. I'll try to remember to use elim instead of scum or wolf. Oh, I'd be careful about putting much stock into that because this is an easy villager slip to fake, especially at the start. Ahh interesting, I'll need to take a closer look at Mist's posts and see if I feel the same.
  15. Hello! I see a bunch of messages to go through. But just posting this first message to say that I'm excited to join this as my first game on the site.
  16. This game will be starting later this week, right? I'm still excited.
  17. Ahhh good to know. I like that better. Usually I've seen where there are a set number of slots and the game starts when they get filled. I like that you accommodate as many as want to join and also have a fixed schedule.
  18. So is there any limit to the number of players? Or unlimited and the elim count will be a percentage of the players signing up? Also, will we know the number of Hemalurgists?
  19. If you are the type of person who needs to spectate first before trying something, that's fine. However, if the thing holding you back is not wanting to ruin it for people, I wouldn't worry too much about that. Even long-time players make mistakes in reads or game plays, even ones that cost the game. Just go with it and give it your best.
  20. Yeah, I almost signed up for the Marson game, but I wasn't really as interested in a vanilla game, so I signed up for the EFoL one instead. And yes, I know both Orange and Sulit. I've played a game or 2 with Sulit. I don't think Orange has played any games since I joined about 3 months ago, but I've seen him in threads and on the Discord server a lot. Haha, there's been a debate about the whole alt thing lately. I'm actually not sure if they were just joking or not about the bepwei thing. You happened to post your first message to the site at the same time we've had issues with alts and have had regular members joining with alts as a joke. Anyway, hope you enjoy the game at Forum of Lies. It can be pretty intense over there, but just bear with it. Sometimes things get rather heated, but people usually let things go later and things are okay afterwards.
  21. Okay, sounds good. I'll see if I think of something for a background at least. BTW, I noticed that Illwei just joined up for a game at Forum of Lies, the site I come from. Guess we have an exchange program going on here.
  22. Thanks for the ping! I'll sign up. I noticed some people signed up as RP characters? Is RPing necessary throughout the game? I'm not really all that good at that. I suppose my character will be Whysper as well, but not sure yet about background.
  23. Hmmm, from TWoK...
  24. I played for about 2-3 months (4 games) on Forum of Lies. Recently I've been looking around at other Mafia sites like Mafia Universe to see what they have to offer. Do you mean a specific character from one of Sanderson's books? Hmmmm, good question. I would expect people have already done games with nobles, Mistings, and Mistborn. Seems like there could be some interesting roles and abilities, with Mistborn being the secret PRs.
  25. Oh really? That's interesting. Are you referring to the 2 posts in a row where I first replied to Emi about TWoK and then to Experience about Sanderson Elimination? I would think they should remain two separate posts because they are replying to two separate people about two separate topics. In any case, if multi-topic multi-reply posts are preferred to keep down the number of posts, I will try to keep that in mind. Thanks for the tip.
