  1. The further you get, the more momentum you acquire, the easier it is to progress. Keep going! As far as I can tell, (Technically I haven't actually read the whole series,) It's totally worth it later on.
  2. "The happy walrus gets too sad and reads romance comics" is probably the foretold future of the crystal cheese and mistletoe.
  3. Liri sighed. "If the sandwich god were still alive, I'd kill him for making portal sandwiches." She glanced down at the deliverer. "You know about sandwiches, right? You don't seem surprised enough to not know."
  4. The stone below it, you see, there are two aspects to the ability, putting yourself through things, and making things go through other things, which is the same concept as the Duralists' blades. So Mishi would make part of the stone (An acquired skill) Spectral, and use that like an indentation in the wall. Yeah, that's the thing, like, he would probably spectralize one of his feet once he heard the creak (Again, partial spectralization being an acquired skill), but before the noise, he had no way of knowing it would creak. He would fall through the floor if he tried to walk around Spectral, because wood is one of the easiest things to spectralize through. With stone, I guess, it might be closer falling into water, rather than air, but there's my explanation of why that works.
  5. "Yes," she said to the deliverer, "That's me."
  6. The door is opened by a woman, dressed in a sandwich chef's clothes, but made them look like what a drill sergeant would wear. "What?" She asked in a forceful voice, before seeing that some person was already opening the package. Looking at who could only be the intended deliverer, she asked, "I assume that's ours?"

Verdin saw Trylle and another figure coming towards him and Qavixsu.
  8. Twice quickly Steelran around the Inn, surveying every open room. No one looked too suspicious. Sighing, he Steelran back towards the others. One, the terriswoman, ran behind some other man. He should probably learn their names. "Someone find something, then?" He asked the people remaining. "Lookin' around goes faster when you can steelrun," he added.
  9. "And I'll see if I can't find anyone myself."
  10. "Well, I'll figure out who exactly this guy is sometime later, then. I am interested in how far that fire's gotten, though."
  11. "Well now I feel like you're making fun of me. Clearly, this situation needs to be reversed. I guess you've got a friend who died, and then came back. Kind of. I might like to meet a fellow like that, get them to tell me the secret."
  12. "Well how dead exactly is this person?" asked Twice, now curious.
  13. "I'll see to it that he recieves that," Twice said with a wink. "Oh, the gunshot. Figured it had to do with you guys, and I was just itching to shoot somebody. No one you know's dead, then? Sad. But by my best guess, sticking around you guys is my best chance to shoot someone before the night's out."
  14. Twice steelran up to the group. "Hey there. Might be an assassin or something of the like coming here pretty soon. Or I could be wrong. But Meens doesn't like you very much. I hear about a fire? Sad I didn't start it. I don't know if you wanted me here. Regardless, I am."
  15. Twice pulled his head up with a jerk. Gunshot. Something always happens, he thought as he threw a coin down the building, burning steel, and pushed himself into a soft landing. If he was right, then that gunshot was related to his latest acquaintances. He'd eat his metalminds, if not. And then he'd probably burn them. And put the speed in new metalminds. Likelier than not, Meens had hunted them down and planned to have them killed. That wouldn't do. He hadn't even properly insulted them yet. Twice began Steelrunning, trying to find the group. They were probably all fairly close together.
  16. "If the line gets too short, I'll die" is probably the climax of the holey cheese scrolls.
  17. "If the line gets too short, I'll die" is probably the climax of the holey book.
  18. if the line gets too short, I'll die! this is probably the climax of the hole-y book
