  1. Standing outside, Alex bit into the cookie. It was actually really good, but the circumstances didn't help. "No one else in the building, then?"

    "You're familiar with them?"

Taking stone from the ground would be a problem. Putting it in the air, then? Not getting eaten was a good idea, but that wouldn't get them anywhere. Verdin was hopelessly unspontaneous.

Verdin thought as he ran. How do you defeat a stone being? Perhaps it was animated by something? Then he saw the rocks to the side and the seemingly decreased size of the golem. Perhaps you could sever mass, and it decreases its size to repair the damage. That was the plan. He yelled to the others. "Sever the limbs!"

"I'm going to assume by the 'Golem coming this direction' noises that I can look now. If not, that's too bad, because I am". Verdin opened his eyes, and started to move. There was no sign of Trylle. That wasn't good at all. Verdin wished he had a weapon, but what good would that be against a creature made of stone?

"Are you okay?" called Verdin, growing increasingly sure she was not okay.

Verdin gave a flat stare. "This had better work well," He said, and closed his eyes, as well as shielding them with his hand.

Verdin stood. This was really not his fight. He wasn't trained to fight giant beasts of stone! As far as he knew two days ago, such a thing didn't exist. He prepared himself anyway.
  10. "Safe to assume there are more like it. But if more come for us, at least we won't be caught off-guard. I've started a file on them. Put the recording of this fight on it. Perhaps that can help determine what they might be?"
  11. "Anyone Magically strong enough to carry him?"
  12. Then we'll recruit more. Many more. Someday, the shard will be dominated by aons. No matter how long it takes.
  13. "I'm... actually not, for once. We should be off, though."
  14. Yeah, the Deus Ex Machina was just.... Naw dude. Sanderson's 2nd law proves to be quite, quite true here. (In my opinion, of course)
  15. I don't know why this exists. It just kind of happened because people like naming themselves after Aons. So yeah. (Side note: I guess a lot of Aon people are probably Ookla people now. Whoops. This is still happening.)
  16. "I don't... Think so? It's just kind of natural."
  17. The Beaver will, inevitably, become Adonalsium, but no one could or would kill Beavernalsium.
  18. Dura sat in an alleyway, spinning a his knife through his fingers. He should probably start finding food soon.
  19. "Actually, that one might be me..." said Ben, looking at his shirt (Was it white before?), Which seemed to be refracting light or something. Refracting? Reflecting? Something along those lines. He had moved around the little area they had had, and it didn't cease to shine, wherever they went.

Verdin set off at a decent run to the explosion.
  21. "I'm Alex," he said, paranoid that fire would burst through the windows any moment.
  22. Yuael keeps his distance from the creatures, observing.
  23. Ben lay on the ground, staring at the ceiling of the shelter, having woken up earlier.
  24. "Steel beam? I'm not sure!" He yelled back.
