  1. ((If Vespyr were to respond, he would send out seasoned fighters to deal with the threat, too, and not new recruits who haven't been appraised, don't know weaponry, and don't know the extent of their powers. He is trying to protect and lead in a fair and right manner.))
  2. ((The point is not to risk life and limb against real targets until the actual need of losing life for a legitimate sacrifice.))
  3. ((I still think we should give Negative Null a time period to respond, and I am upset that you are taking initiative to derail what I've done, and when I say I am annoyed by it, you don't apologize or backtrack, you keep pushing full speed ahead with what you want.))
  4. ((I'm not sure what you want me to do, because Vespyr would literally just have the pavement swallow the Yevon whole and be done with the situation.))
  5. ((The arc is incoming. Vespyr is going to be escorting you all **covertly** to the heart of the Queen’s Island. This is your opportunity to build skills and develop your characters’ strengths before a big assault.))
  6. ((It's not a big deal, but I need you to communicate sudden changes to the setting, particularly when you're altering an overarching plot that I have been planning for everyone.))
  7. ((Was in a meeting online. Have a short break right now. First off, Summer Break is maybe 3 weeks away. If he's going to be back in 3 weeks, he may be back. And maybe you should wait at least a day to see if he responds to the ping, since the group and character are his original creations Second, Vespyr took a single city, and there is ONLY a single city, not Raodea, that the Queen is up against. Third, you're trying to create a fight scene in the middle of preparation/planning. I've given your characters an opportunity to train/upgrade weapons/make allies and alliances, and you're immediately making the Queen have an army right here and now in the city, despite the city having only just fallen into Vespyr's command. PLEASE COMMUNICATE when you want to make big roleplay changes that affect my planning/schemes.))
  8. @Negative_Null ((Might be worth pinging him to see if he wants to be active for a confrontation/battle arc.))
  9. Corwin shrugged and left her alone, going off to continue his training with other combatants. He'd already spent too much time talking. He was beginning to cool off; he had to work up a sweat again. He stopped and chugged another bottle of water, then approached somebody else.
  10. He thumbed to the weapons rack at the side of the room, where he'd been trying to take her in the first place.
  11. "Well, if you ever dreamed of being a superhero, what kind of fighting would you want to do? I mean... You might try all sorts of things, but I'm not gonna pick for you, kid." He said, being not much older than she was.
  12. "Well, what do you want?"
  13. "Obviously a bunch of bombs and detonators," he teased.
  14. Corwin rolled his eyes. "Yeah, probably since you keep blowing up yerself," he said. "You should blow up things that need blowing up, like the Queen or her minions, or whatever." He scuffed his shoes in the sand, skidding the thin layer about absentmindedly.
  15. "Aw, that's bull. You get to- to be all powerful and heal, Cadence-zaaah..." His face flushed. "Cadenza gets to freeze people solid. I just get to be slippery."
  16. "And... you don't die?"
  17. "Oh," he said, relaxing slightly. "So... why did the Queen give two spits about you? No offense, but you're just a gutter kid, like a hundred others."
  18. "Hold up. People who hurt you. Explode. And you just told me to punch you in the face and literally JUST DID whatever it was that killed people?" His voice was suddenly cold, solid.
  19. “Yeah, but when you grow up, they expect you to join up in their ranks.” He shrugged. “Anyways, how the hell did you live on the streets and not learn how to throw a punch?” He froze. “Pardon my language.” ”You ask for... not much.”
  20. “Jeez. You were probably a trusting sap on the streets. Got beat up and robbed all the time, huh?”
  21. "You just have each other's back. Not everyone needs to be your friend. You just... exist and people exist around you, and you don't necessarily hate each other."
  22. "Fer what?" he asked, offering her a hand to get up. "Do you need everyone to promise to be your friends to be around you?"
  23. "S'not your fault." He sniffed once. "Do you actually want a weapon, or to fight someone else, or what?"
  24. He stood up shortly, as if she'd just slapped him. "I don't do that. I don't do the thing where people just- they make people promise to be there for them so they can use them. If I want to, I'll be nice to you and hang out. But I just met you. I don't do... emotional contracts." Corwin didn't meet her eyes, but he was scowling. It wasn't like he was frowning at her, but he seemed distracted suddenly.
