  1. Siren slammed into the pavement, the air twisting in streams of roiling steam around him. He stood, lips pressed into a thin line, and the ground spread open, the sound of thunder, yet sharp and precise. Screams ensued, and the remainder of the Yevon were systematically and abruptly slain. "Who is injured?" Siren asked, strolling no-nonsense directly past the children. He looked up to the roof. The sniper woman dropped from the roof. He caught her in a breath of air, and she landed lightly. He repeated himself, and she gestured. Several of the younger students had been wounded, Corwin included. He looked ashamed of himself, and seemed rather upset. Siren noted every individual, and immediately set upon delegating others to assist in moving the injured. Siren then took a long draft from a large flask at his side. He shot into the air, then to the edge of the city. It was past time to bolster the defenses.
  2. Of those who had been blasted back, three exploded in quick succession, struck by incendiary rounds from the roof of the institute.
  3. He huffed. “My blood- my sweat- it removes friction almost entirely.”
  4. “Melt it and blast it back into the monsters; it will throw them off... if the blood isn’t too distilled...”
  5. “Just give me a minute,” he said, rubbing his hand over his blood. He pressed past Janice, then he smeared it against the ice wall. “Can anyone melt this?” He asked. “If-“ he kept slathering red onto it, turning their side of the wall a gushy pink, “when I didn’t have training, I slid around like crazy. If we can soak them-“ he turned supplicant eyes towards them. “I don’t have a cool ability, but I can trust that someone else does.”
  6. He did a one-armed shrugged. "Kinda lame."
  7. "Took it off. My body in liquid form has nearly no traction. Sweat, blood, the works." He grunted, gripping at his arm. "Shoot. Accidentally moved it."
  8. "Aw, do you want me to sit here all shirtless and brooding with my eyes sparkling in gratituuuuuuuuuude..?" he rubbed his chin with his good hand, smirking. At her sharp look, he flinched. 'Fine- fine. Shutting up."
  9. ((Nah, I'm just joking.)) "You'd tie an entire bedsheet around my arm if you could, huh?"
  10. “It’s my arm, not my vitals,” he said, annoyed at her fussing, but not able to do much about it. “Keep him safe!” Another girl called, running in to hold them off, “he can’t die! He’s the only boy at this school!”
  11. “It’s just- a flesh- wound!” He grunted, through teeth bared in a smile. The Yevon she’d blasted back suddenly seemed unable to control their balance, teetering and toppling. “Damnation-“ he swore softly, “I musta lost a lot o’ blood for so many to slip on it...”
  12. He shrugged. "If you say so," Corwin seemed puzzled. Then, he took a blow to his left arm. It should have slid, but the Yevon twisted and hacked sideways, into Corwin, and it stuck, digging into his upper arm. He screamed, vision fuzzy from the immediate pain, and the Yevon that he'd been distracting swarmed forward, sensing the opening.
  13. "Ha! Girls!" Corwin said, "This is why ya fight withou' a shirt on, or, y'know, just wash your clothes. Seriously-" he ducked a swing of a talon, then jabbed twice quickly, dropping one of the Yevon unconscious. He spun, dancing back over the fallen demon to avoid slashing knives, "Why in the world," he panted, "Do girls need so many clothes? Haven't ya heard o' soap?"
  14. "Good job," the sniper said to the woman next to her, lining up another shot, then picking off two more in quick succession. "Yeah, barely," he said, baring his teeth in a grin. His tousled red hair flopped about on his scalp as he dodged, ducking and dealing quick blows.
  15. ((Alright, I will.))
  16. ((Illegal? I was responding to different people in different places. I could make a really long single comment, I guess. I figured it would make replying to their specific tag easier than responding to a long post aimed at three different people.))
  17. “Good shot, kid,” the riflewoman said gruffly. “Pick off their reinforcements if you can. Only go for a shot where an ally is engaged if it is an emergency, at least until your skill increases. Don’t forget to read the wind.” She shouldered her rifle, staring down the sights, then picked off another, who imploded.
  18. ((Slight flashback to before the fighting.)) Vespyr smiled. “I... agree. I must go now, though. There is... negotiation I must do. Please, guide the students in my absence, if it suits you.”
  19. “Yo, monkeys!” Corwin called, voice anxious, “come pick these fleas off my back!” A sword raked at hos chest, but he rolled along it, and the blade slid off. It looked like, had he not moved, the direct blow would have sliced him, his aspect active or not.
  20. Corwin was engaged with multiple Yevon. Blows connected, but then glided off his skin, even the effects leaving him unscathed. He kept a few of them occupied. A crack from a rifle on the roof took one of them clear in the head. It crumpled, and then its body began to freeze over. Another bullet struck one in the leg. It exploded, taking the leg with it.
  21. Corwin darted between the two girls, shouldering weapons, nearly knocking them both over. “Vespyr’s not at the school, and we’re getting attacked!” He announced, sounding panicky. The young woman in her twenties shouldered past, a rifle slung over one shoulder. “I’m going up to one of the higher windows. I’m taking the least experienced with me to do ranged attacks. Corwin, you’ve been here longer. Go join Jaisen and Lewis with the frontal assault. They could use someone like you to keep the enemy’s attention while they deal damage.” Corwin nodded, the boy darting off. The woman turned to them both, steel blue eyes stern, lips pressed seriously. “Are you coming with me to safer ground or staying below?”
  22. ((Just have fun with this one. We'll say he's off briefly negotiating with the country he's usurped this city from, and you guys are left to defend at your own leisure. Trevor... I meant Corwin, lol. And Vespyr is meant to be a plot device just as much as a character. I'm more than happy to sweep him out of the way to let you guys have fun, but I'd already established that he was in the training room helping the kids/sparring with Sparrow. Letting me know to get him out of the picture puts a little less stress on me to figure out how to make his character work in a way that he isn't annoying the other players. For endgame, to take down an entity like the queen, they'll need powerful guidance.))
  23. ((The issue is that Vespyr would get in the way of the fun. He would treat the situation with deliberation and stop the younger reserves from going out. I could have given him an excuse to be out of the city, because, like you said, he either has to be a terrible person to send kids against demons, because there's no reason he would risk lives like that, or he has to be asleep/gone during the emergency. As I would play him, he would be on the front lines immediately incapacitating the Yevon. Remember that when he took this city, he literally sank a skyscraper into the earth as a power play. Talking with me, we could have planned to have a fight AND advance the plot. He might be absent and they have a fun fight scene field day, sure. OR... He might have the more experienced soldiers take out the advance party, then send a scout party to find out where the Yevon had come from. Your characters might have smuggled themselves along with the scout party, maybe with Trevor. Fight scenes are fun, but you can flesh out extra content.))
  24. ((Alright, then have at it, I guess.)) Vespyr was totally asleep and napping, unaware of the threat.
