    Caden growled at Jaspers answer before sitting down in a nearby chair, "surely a guest like yourself would have been brought straight to the ballroom. If you even are a guest."

    Caden glared at Jasper, "what were you doing so close to the King's personal chambers?"

    Caden only snarled at Darrin before pointing to a pair of rooms that were close enough together that they could guard both rooms with the number of men present. Darrin was shoved into one once it was checked and cleared, and Jasper in the other. As he made one last check on the guards in hallway, the general entered the room that Jasper was placed in and gestured for his gag to be removed. "Tell me Jet, why are you in the castle!"

    Caden chuckled mockingly at Darrin, "don't worry, you'll be speaking soon enough." Caden spun around, flaring his cape behind him as he made his way back into the castle, with his soldiers dragging the prisoners as they followed at the general's heels.

    Caden approached the two with his hands behind his back, his cape at his heals, still having the advantage of height despite obviously slouching. "Well Jade, you won't have to worry about her just yet. I will make sure that you are given the proper," Caden paused, smiling, "welcome." He then turned to Derrin and looked over him with his yellow eyes, "for someone willing to do something as daring as this, I expected more."

    "Good." Caden gestured for Jasper to be tied up as well.

    The general growled in annoyance, "drop the whole thing on the ground you idiot!"

    Caden watched the blade, "I said drop! Put it on the ground!"

    Caden glared at Jasper as he drew his sword. "I said drop your weapons!"

    Caden only responded with another snarl before gesturing for two of his men to bind Derrin.

    Caden snarled, "if fools get along, then you'll be happy in her company."

    Caden moved back his foot out of instinct, only to glare Darrin when it missed. He growled, "you'll be begging for the Ravenness when I'm done with you." He looked towards Jasper, "I wasn't talking to just one of you!" @Fallapede

    Caden looked slightly surprised and slightly disappointed. "Throw down your weapons!"

    "No no no no no no no!" Mustachio reached for the device when she grabbed it, only to pitifully watch it as it disappeared into the void. "Great, just great! Guess I'm stuck here now until I find another way back to my lab. Do you have any idea how much work you just ruined? Is it wrong to punch a child? Because I'm looking to bean you right between th-" Mustachio stopped to consider it for a moment, "uh, what exactly is that?"

    Five guardsmen brandished their weapons towards to two, "stand down immediately and submit to the King!' Just as they finished their announcement, Caden strode into the courtyard from the other direction, walking in his typical hunched posture with the torchlight gleaming off of his pale while armor, with his face concealed by the shadows cast by the setting sun, leaving only his eyes visible. He hadn't drawn his arming blade yet, but his hand was on its hilt as he was followed by a group of at least twenty soldiers, who immediately fanned out in order to block escape routes. Caden chuckled like no man would, as if he had tried to practice it to sound natural, but had missed the mark. His gravelly voice rang through the area,"what have we here?"

    Several guardsmen in uniforms burst out of a nearby door, and when they saw the two they immediately shouted as they ran towards them. "Halt, and lay down your arms!"

    Caden bowed once more, "as you command." He gestured at two of the guardsmen to instruct them to follow before heading out of the room to deal with this lead for the assassin.

    "Well you see," Mustachio gave he device a slap, "I set this thing to transport me to the nearest source of Quantatainium because I thought it would be at my uh, well my evil lab. Apparently I was wrong. Maybe I set the dial to the wro-" Mustachio checked the dial, "yeah, nope, it's in the right spot. Either someone here has Quantatainium, or my Handheld-Transporter-Inator is broken."

    The soldiers who took Arabella moved her quickly into a side room from where the general had left them, closing the door behind them once they were sure that there was only one way out. They sat the child in a chair and took up posts watching the door and the girl. @Vapor ----- "My lord, I must ask my leave now. I suspect that I will need everything to catch this assassin." @Channelknight Fadran

    Just as quickly as he left, Mustachio reappeared, banging the side of the device before looking up and grinning sheepishly. "I uh, don't suppose any of you have Quantatainium on you?"

    Mustachio nodded to the man who stood up for him, then lifted the device triumphantly in the air. "I intend to make it very difficult if you want to kill me!" He then flipped a switch on the device, and he began to flicker in and out of existence once more before disappearing entirely, with the process taking a far shorter amount of time than it did when he first appeared.
